Willa is nearly blind, but she knows trouble when she trips over it.
Willa, the vicar’s little sister knows full well that her prospects are bleak. When she accidentally kisses Alexander Braeburn, her dull predictable world turns upside down. Logic dictates that she should stay away from the handsome Corinthian. He’s the black sheep of their village. But how can she resist? She yearns for one … for one more taste of the most tantalizing excitement she has ever experienced. Just one more, before Willa settles back into her dreary life forever.
Alex is intrigued by the refreshingly forthright Willa. Her genuine character warms his jaded heart and makes him smile. When she naïvely marches into trouble, Alex feels duty bound to rescue her. Is it duty? Or something else that compels him to watch over the vicar’s little sister?

Whenever I read a review that contains the words, “witty,” “romantic” and,”laugh-out-loud funny,” chances are that I am sold. I am glad that I was in this case, as MISTAKEN KISS delivers on all counts. In fact, I so enjoyed it that I ordered the author’s previous book, LADY FIASCO, immediately upon finishing, and am eagerly looking forward to reading it.
A extremely wonderful story. So very entertaining. The Aunt had me smiling the entire time. Loved Wilma’s character. And I loved how much Alex admired her for her quirks. Didn’t want it to end!
This book made me laugh out loud.
Loved that it was romantic, not dirty!
Cute romance, very enjoyable
Fun clean and delightful. I smiled a lot.
it was good clean romance with funny happenings
4.5 Great story with lots of twist and turns and great use of the time periods speech. Would have liked an epilogue, but will read this author again. Very entertaining.
Adorable story.
Loved it. Couldn’t put it down. Funny & witty characters.
The time period and humor in this book made it a very enjoyable read.
This is a fun series. Just what I look for: reasonably well written, entertaining characters who are not completely out of character for the times, and an enjoyable plot with humor.
A pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.
Wilhelmina Linnet is an intellectual spitfire, calculating, and logical raised by her brother, the vicar, and his best friend. These two bachelors raised her from a young age providing her the only education they knew how – Greek philosophy, mathematics, history, the classics, and how to be engaging company – from their perspective. She is presented with an offer to marry her brother’s best friend, Sir Daniel Braeburn, who she has known her entire life, in order for everyone’s life to continue unhindered. This leads Willa to make the one mistake she can’t forget.
Alexander Braeburn is considered a wastrel, scapegrace, prodigal, and gamester, but he is not a rake. At least he’s never been considered a rake until he meets Willa. After one mistake, he can’t keep the thought of her out of his mind. Even the fiery color of her hair reminds him of his favorite chestnut stallion. When Willa’s Aunt Honore insists she come to London as her protégé Alex has no choice but to protect Willa from her own audacious behavior and that of an Aunt who has ulterior motives, although he can’t be sure.
This traditional regency romp will keep the reader entertained throughout because of Willa’s innocent, audacious, and practical logic on all things, and engaging intellect. Alex is a true Corinthian hero who comes to Willa’s rescue on more than one occasion causing tensions to soar in all the right spots. One word best describes what happens after Willa comes to his rescue, Squee!
This was a delightful, charming story with a sweet and plucky heroine.
Highly Recommended!
Make no mistake, Aunt Honore is at it again and when she is involved anything can and does happen, as Willa and Alex quickly find out.
There is so much humor written into this story that it is a pure pleasure to read it.
Of course Willa, the very near sighted sister of a vicar, finds herself falling for Alex, a rogue and her life with Aunt Honore in it soon changes.
I loved the characters and the story and Kathleen Baldwin has a new fan!
It was okay… nothing to write home about.
It was OK. Characters were engaging
