Can she truly love him if she thinks he is someone else?Jessica Standish is considered an upstart in the eyes of society because she is merely the daughter of a wealthy merchant. After a failed season, the devastating loss of her father and his fortune, her chances of a good match seem impossible. When her mother arranges for them to attend one of the biggest house parties of the summer, Jes … Jes dreads the idea of being seen as a fortune hunter. But then Lord Ian arrives. Even though she has only danced with him once, he has become the man of her dreams. As the connection between them grows, he seems so different from the man she thought she was.
Conrad Pinkerton, the Marquess of Kendal despises the ton and all the scheming, the guises and the games that go with it. For years he has declined their invitations. Then his twin brother, Ian, calls in a favor and Conrad grudgingly assumes a guise of his own–pretending to be his brother at a house party. When he meets Miss Standish, he wants nothing more than to pursue her. But that would mean exposing his lies which would hurt both their reputations and threaten the relationship he didn’t know he wanted.
With family names and fortunes on the line, can Conrad and Jes see past their schemes and guises to find a lasting love together?
Mistaken Identity is one of five books all set at the same Regency House Party. While each is a standalone story, watch our characters mingle together with others from the other books in the series. The stories are clean romances and can be read in any order.

I love this whole series. Mindy’s book about Twins who swap places is super fun!
Wonderful.
The romance played out beautifully.
The intrigue was fun.
The characters were all well done and the dialog was perfect.
When Conrad Pinkerton attends Lady Du’Breven’s house party posing as his twin brother Ian, his main goal is to get out of the situation with as little interaction with others and as soon as possible. But when he meets Jessica Standish, his plans change.
Jes can’t quite reconcile the Ian at the house party with the one she danced with two years ago, but his attention is something she doesn’t want to give us. The man makes her life and she flourishes in his presence. But sometimes he acts so differently than the man she’s come to know, she’s not sure what to think.
Ghost stories, a few close calls of the ruse being discovers, and the early blooms of love—not infatuation—make Mistaken Identity a quick and entertaining read. While appearances can be deceiving, this book stresses that the heart of the person is where the true beauty lies.

A cute series where several courtships occur during the same house party to create several books!
The premise of twins switching places is really fun and one that I enjoyed following.
Conrad is “stuck” with a rascal brother and Jessica is stuck with the idea of who or rather which who she is in love with.
A great stand alone book but so much better read with the others in the series.
A very entertaining and easy story, yet has twists and turns. Will read more by this author.
Ian and Conrad are identical twins. Conrad was born first; therefore, he inherited the title of Marquess. Ian is social. Conrad is not. As a favor Conrad pretends to be Ian at a house party, where Jessica is looking for a husband. She has danced with Ian once. When he arrives, he is the man she seeks. When Conrad meets Jessica he wants to court her for she is unlike any other. So the dance begins! I enjoyed this book til the end.
This was another fun read in this series. I enjoyed this one. It did drag out a bit longer then necessary. A good author fills the time with a believable reasons why the secret can’t be revealed. It almost got 3 stars for it but I just enjoyed the story and the interconnecting of this whole series. There was also a very unanswered question in this one and I am wondering if it will be answered in another story so I am not going to knock a star off for that either. SPOILER( Is the Ghost real? That was such an odd ending of that scene)
This can be read on it’s own but is much funner read in order so you can see the previous stories woven in.
I liked the original story, but I usually try not to read things that are going to mess with my mind. There was definitely a part in there where her tells her ghost stories, and it took me a bit to want to pick it back up because of that. Other than that, I really liked the stand-up female character.
It seemed knowledgeable about its historical setting.
Loved this book! Very entertaining and great characters!
Really enjoyed a different plot than most of them. Well-written and entertaining.
Lovely book
Good story.
An excellent read! The author maintained the proper protocols of the time in both manner and speech, while managing to write an entertaining Regency tale. I don’t think I’ve read a book set in the Regency era that played out in just this way and I commend the author for work well done.
I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil the story for others. But I also want to say enough to encourage others who enjoy the genre to give it a try. I think lovers of historical romance would truly not want to miss reading this one.
The plot kept me wondering what would happen next. The hero and heroine were intriguing and kept me invested in their story.
I say again, if you enjoy Regency romances, don’t pass this one by.
I forced myself to continue reading. H/h and plot were boring. The twin brother is beyond redemption, yet there’s another book to follow about him. No thanks.
Having identical twins in my family I know how much they love fooling others as to which one is which, but normally they outgrow that before they leave their teens. Although this twin switch made Conrad uncomfortable, it did pay off for him. Mindy Burbidge Strunk made this twin switch believable. Conrad and Ian have such different personalities it made the situations Conrad finds himself in believable. I loved this book and look forward to reading Ian’s story.
A cute story of mistaken identity, confusion and all’s well that ends well.
I’m sorry but I found this boring.
I had to give up after reading 31% of it.
The house party and the characters were boring.
