Now she’s standing at the crossroad where she and her parner are having to sell their business. Who should blow in like he rode the winds of a hurricane. Yeah, the bas*r*d. I wish I could wear a pair of size 15 W steel toed boots that I could kick his a**. The main female character is a freaking heroine. She builds a life for her and her son. Don’t fool yourself it ain’t easy. Ok, so they have to sell. He tries to make amends but little does he know there’s a huge secret that has been kept from him for 5 years as well. This is one deep and moving tale that has layers that start to peel away. S**t hits the fan in a major way. Ellen has drawn me into her mind from the first chapter and I have shadowed her every move. The characters and scenes were intriguing and complex not to mention life altering. You’re not sure you want to throw in the towel or punch him in the nose. She is one strong, independent, resourceful, nurturing mother, woman, friend and homemaker. She’s my hero. I don’t know how Ellen got through writting this story cause I have to say it couldn’t have been an easy task. Now the main characters have to figure out what next. Following the characters along as their personalities begin to transform. Now watching to see and feel like a family thats beginning to make things that has been missing come together to make it whole. You watch the child as he comes to grow and tries to understand with his mind that just can’t really comprehend whats going on. I love the way Ellen brought this all together in such a heartwarming and beautiful way. She really did a remarkable job bringing this read to life in an “in your face” kind of way. Great job Ellen and thank you for sharing this strength filled, emotional story.
