A well written and enjoyable story about mermaids, legends, ghosts, and the sea.
There were many things I loved about this book. The characters were written well. I loved the storyline. I’ve always been fascinated by the unknown, and I love how the author was able to make the reader believe in the legend. The author wrote a tight story that kept moving along page after page. I’m not much of a cat person, but Misty, a cute kitty in the story, has captured my heart. The author posted a list of name origins for the characters at the end of the book, and showed how they are all related to the sea. The cover of the book is outstanding, and one of my favorite covers ever. But the best thing about this book, there are 5 more books of the series to come.
Thank you to Victoria LK Williams and Sun, Sand & Stories Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Wonderful story!
The mystery itself stands on its own, but this is a series best read in order. Because a large chunk of the book has to do with the over-arching storyline, that will continue on during this 6-book-series. So it’s best enjoyed when read in order, because of the characters, their development, and the legend.
What an incredible cast of characters. I just love Morgan, Gabe, Jenny, Kathy and the rest. And kitten Misty, of course! Mischievous, cute, playful as a kitten should be, yet wise beyond her years… The characters are well-developed and realistic. It felt like Morgan could be my friend. My bookfriend! This is the kind of book where you immediately feel immersed in that cozy atmosphere. Such a warm feeling!
This is turning out to be one of my favorite series ever!
At the end it’s clear that this isn’t over. Not by a long shot! And I’m glad it isn’t!
I received a free copy of this book via author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is starting to be one of my favorite series. It has a wonderful story, great characters that includes a mischievous cat. It’s full of mystery, has everything: a great story should have and throughout the books of the series there’s a legend that captivates the reader and makes you want to keep knowing about.
Loved this book!
I was completely drawn into this story about sunken treasure, a sea hag, and family legends. It was great fun watching Morgan, her amazing friends, and Misty (an adorable kitten) solve this case. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series! I highly recommend this book and series!
Don’t let evil win at any cost! The continuing story of the curse of Pearl Island is wonderful. The story keeps the reader riveted and turning the pages. I’ve been captivated by this series from the very beginning. I love how things are progressing and can’t wait to see what happens next!
Cora, the sea witch is stirring up more than trouble for Morgan and the residents of Pearl Island. The island is being visited by mysterious ocean salvage divers and rumors abound as to what lies beneath the sea. Morgan, Gabe and their friends must solve the mystery, a murder and learn more about the history of Pearl Island and how Morgan plays a part in its history in this the second book of a great a series from Victoria L.K.Williams.
This book can also be read as a stand alone, but the author leaves just enough mystery for the reader to look forward to her next book.
I received an ARC of Mist Across the Waves from the author and the review and comments are my honest opinion.
Special bonds and strong friendship fill this captivating story with a very strong, smart female lead and her very loyal friends, including a very special kitty. Ongoing story of the island’s history intersects with the current mystery. This book can be read as a stand-alone because the author provides enough background information, which also serves as a great recap of what’s happened so far. But I would definitely recommend reading the books in order to be really absorbed into this wonderful magical experience. Can’t wait for my next visit to this island and its special people.
