Mission Memory Recall,
by Virginia Vaughan, is a very suspenseful book in her Army Rangers series.. As always, Vaughan does a masterful job of blending mystery, faith and romance. Current CIA agent Bethany has finally tracked down her ex-boyfriend and former Army Ranger, Marcus, who is sought by the CIA for alleged treason. This is related to an ambush in Afghanistan in which some of his colleagues were killed. Marcus claims to have amnesia about the incident and his history. Bethany struggles with divergent feelings, sometimes experiencing angry distrust, but also sometimes feeling a yearning to believe him and help him. While Bethany has been pursuing him, evidently, so has an unknown stalker, who takes shots at them at several places. Or is the shooter after Bethany? Will they be able to subdue their attacker? Will Marcus regain his memory, and what will their relationship be in the future? I won’t give away any spoilers. One thing that I especially appreciate about Vaughan’s writing is her accuracy. I cannot enjoy a book, if it isn’t authentic, and one reason that I always enjoy hers, is that she obviously knows what she is talking about, regarding agencies, procedures and the like. Another of Vaughan’s skills, is providing satisfying resolutions of storylines, yet allowing enough openness to provide for a continuing story, next time.
“Mission: Memory Recall” by Virginia Vaughan was a very entertaining, action packed romance/suspense novel. CIA analyst Bethany Bryant risked her career to prove her former love, soldier Marcus Allen, actually survived a military ambush – and betrayed his country. But when she finally tracked the Army Ranger to a remote Texas town, Marcus doesn’t remember who he is… or why someone is trying to kill him. With an assailant determined to silence them both for good, Bethany and Marcus must go on the run in hope that he will regain his memories. But Bethany is worried that this risky gambit may or may not expose the truth and clear his name – and hopefully give them a future … or end their second chance at a future. There were twists and turns and it seemed constant attempts to kill Bethany and Marcus. This is an action packed book to read and I highly recommend it!
this is a very suspenseful story, if you like suspense, romance, you need to read the story, is Marcus a good guy or a traitor ? Bethany is cia, and trying to find him if he is still alive, i will not say more because of spoilers but this is a page turner.
I received this book as an Arc.
This book opens in a small Texas town.
The main character is on a mission to find a man who is assumed dead, but is still alive. She tracks him to Texas, and plans to bring him in. Plans go amiss when someone starts shooting at them, before she can bring him to justice. The book has many twist and turns and will keep you guessing just who is the bad guys. I started this book the day after Christmas and had finished the next day. Quick read, you will not want to put down.
