Having had a foster grandchild, this novel reminded me of his stories of foster homes. It spells out the dangers these kids face. Great plot with many twists and turns.
The writing needs major editing and revision-The premise behind foster children being used as sex playthings is horrific and makes for a gripping tale-However, that said I did not find the story very realistic – There appears to be little depth to the character development of the main protagonists-I would also question the protocols of police procedure-in this book-Severely lacking integrity. This writer needs some help-in his follow through-
Missing Pieces is book 2 of the “A North and Martin Abduction” Mystery Series. It is a fantastic read. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down.
The book is about two detectives paired together in Seattle’s Missing Person Division. When his foster parents, Ray and Mary Swisher become concern because Rudy, one of their foster kids, has disappeared, Jim is called. As Jim and Kerry (his partner) investigate Rudy’s disappearance, they discover more than they could have imagined. The story takes you into the world of exploited children, the Department of Child Services and Jim’s own past. This book had so many twist and turns, heartache and tragedy. Along the way, Jim discovers his past and finds out how lucky he was to have foster parents who gave him a home, love and stability.
Jim and Kerry are an amazing team. They excel at solving missing persons cases, in part because they balance each other out.
Kerry was destroyed when the story about her father bring a dirty cop with lots of dirty habits came out. Jim begins this book with a search for his biological identity, and his search stumbles. As he tells his long term foster mom, no child who came to their home ever had to truly wonder who their family was. They only needed to look into their eyes to know they were home
Intense drama, action and psychological thriller. Heart rending damage done to children, and some of the possibilities for what came after – some even greater horrors and living nightmares.
Gut wrenchingly well written
