One mistake. Four years of regret. A second chance worth fighting for. When I traded one dream for another, she was the price. My Anna. But I never forgot her. Never let go. And no amount of drumming could drown out my love for her. Her music is in my head. Still…Always…And when I see her again, it’s so clear. Anna is mine. She’ll always be mine. I just have to convince her.Missing From Me is … mine. She’ll always be mine. I just have to convince her.
Missing From Me is an epic story about second chances, redemption, undying love, and music. Because every great romance deserves a soundtrack.

Sweet Sean,
Watching you fall in love with your daughter… Well, whatever mistakes you may have made, they seem to be fading to dust… Love is a powerful force, isn’t it?
How many times can your heart break during the course of one book?
The person who recommended the 6th Street Bands series to me warned me that this one was a “tear-jerker”. So, I can’t say I wasn’t warned!
This is one of those books where a reader just clings to the promise of a happy-ever-after.
Heartbreaking, wild, funny and sweet…and healing.
Like your favorite music on your hardest day.
Bottom line: 5 stars, and a keeper for sure. I’ll be hugging it to myself for a while.
In the midst of all the global craziness caused by the pandemic, having an addictively fun series like the Caged novels had been a huge sanity saver. These interconnected but totally standalone romances of each of the members of the band are both extremely powerful and totally fun. That’s certainly the case with Anna and Sean’s story in Missing From Me (Sixth Street Bands, Book 3), a perfect rockstar second chance / hidden baby romance. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
Missing From Me is book three in the Sixth Street Bands series by Jayne Frost. You can read any of these books as stand alones. Although I have read the entire series, I read them out of order, this being the one that I missed. I love these boys like they are my own family. In hind sight, I do kind of wish I read them in order and was introduced to the characters in order. With that being said, I can’t wait to introduce you to Sean.
Sean Hudson is the drummer of the band Caged. His life is the band and the music. And, four years ago, it was also Anna. Until he let her go. Until he destroyed everything. He and Anna had been high school sweethearts. They were everything to each other. His band was on the verge of finally breaking out, his dreams within his reach. Words were said that couldn’t be taken back. And Sean made a huge mistake. It was over. He’d lost her.
Four years later, Anna comes back into Sean’s life. Sean is determined not to let her walk out of his life again. He will do whatever he has to do to claim the woman he has never stopped loving.
When Annabelle Dresden sees Sean for the first time, she knows she should run away. But she can’t resist the pull. Maybe she can soak him in for just a little while, get the closure they never had. Because Anna has secrets. And she can’t let Sean get close enough to find out. Only it seems she has no self control when it comes to Sean Hudson. She never did. She can’t say no to him, even though she should.
Sean is one of those heroes that you don’t want to love, at first anyway, but you just can’t help it. I fell for him immediately. He made a LOT of mistakes, yes. But his heart was in the right place. And watching him fall all over again, not that he ever stopped, for Anna, made me love him all the more.
There was no doubt that these two belonged together. Maybe the four years were needed for them to mature a little bit. But with Caged once again on the cusp of something big, and with Anna’s secrets, they have quite a time finding their way through it all.
This is one of those books that made my heart beat harder. I couldn’t stop reading. I needed to know that they were going to be okay. We also get to know Logan a lot better in this book and the relationship between Logan, Sean and Anna. As I said above, I love these men. Jayne’s writing grabs me from the start and doesn’t let go. I’ve loved every single one of the books in this series. I also want to say that I loved the author’s note at the end. I enjoyed hearing about Jayne’s feelings for Sean as she wrote this book. I’m such a fan of her books and won’t hesitate for a second to read anything she writes.
Each book in this series gets better! If you like reading books about bands and rock gods you’ll love this series. Although the series is based around the individuals in the band Caged there is so much more than meets the eye. This is a family in every sense of the word except blood, they’d do anything for one another.
This book is based on Sean who is the drummer of the upcoming band who want to go on tour. His girlfriend wants to study law and tells him she’ll meet him in Phoenix in three weeks. Sean tells her to refund her ticket after arguing about her not putting her study on hold and joining him. Four years pass before they cross paths again. So much water has flowed under the bridge that they are struggling to climb onto the bank to save themselves. It seems like love just isn’t enough. I will warn you to have the Kleenex close at hand. I highly recommend this book.
Walking away from his high school sweetheart to go on tour with his band Caged, Sean gave up his future. Without Annabelle in his life Sean became the quintessential bod boy rocker, having sex with any girl he could find. But his heart always belonged to Annabelle. Four years have gone by and Anna decides to reach out to Sean. The sparks are still there and the passion that they had for each other comes back full force, but the secrets that she had hidden from him are life altering. Can Sean forgive her? Can the two become a family after so much pain and time have passed? I absolutely loved these characters and feel this is the best book in the series so far. The connection and remorse that they both felt just flew off the page. I was locked in from the opening pages and could not put this one down!!
A wonderful story and a fabulous series…not to be missed. Filled with deep emotion, great characters and who doesn’t love a good inside look into the lives of rock bank members. Powerful and unexpected. Do yourself a favor and grab this one.
Loved this book will definitely read again
Jayne Frost continues to amaze me with her writing. This third book in the Sixth Street Bands series gives us Annabelle and Sean’s story, but even more, she gives us Willow! Anna and Sean were high school sweethearts, and when Sean’s big break came, Anna let him go to follow her dream. Little did she know how her life would change after that. Now 4 years later, the two are reunited, and the surprise of a lifetime comes to Sean. Willow is one of the best characters in this series. Her limited vocabulary and hearing disability do not stop her from knowing what she wants and getting her point across. I love her spunk! Now with that being said, her parents are steamy and passionate, continue their miscommunications and have circumstances that are constantly wreaking havoc to their relationship. Can they get through it all? As true love prevails, we do hope they do! It’s a wonderfully written story, with heart, and such well developed characters, it’s like I know them and they are my friends. Frost writes realistically which brings the story straight to the heart!
Elena Wolfe and Jacob Morgan are a team of narrators that can only enhance the story. I loved the performance. Full of angst and emotional draw, I was sucked in and couldn’t stop listening…for 10 hours and 36 minutes! It is that good!
2.5 stars
God, this book annoyed the hell out of me! I didn’t mind the angst and I like the rockstar angle, but the hero is such a selfish asshole and the heroine is a complete doormat. I can even deal with the cheating, although I don’t like it of course. But the hero and the heroine just completely ruined anything good that there might have been.
There is some good. Willow is a more realistic character than children usually are portrayed in romances. The whole feeling the rhythm in his head when he’s near Anna is an interesting, even beautiful idea. The other band members seem interesting, especially Logan. And Sean’s aunt and housekeeper are down to earth characters that give Sean some home truths and keep him more grounded than he’d otherwise be. But, the bad just cannot overcome the good and I never felt that Sean really redeemed himself. He never saw how completely selfish he had been until the very end. I’m all for heroes and heroines being asses, if they redeem themselves fairly early on. If they wait until the very end? Nope, just nope. And Anna, God, could she have been more of a doormat?! Ugh…
So, while I normally love a second chance romance, and the chemistry between Anna and Sean is hot, the fact that I completely disliked both Sean and Anna makes it so that I cannot possibly rate this any higher than 2.5 stars.
Good Lord, how can anyone say no to Sean? I mean, watching him get to know his daughter and love “his girls” is the sweetest thing… I think I fell in love with him! His heart is so big, so tender, he’s achingly sweet. He’s such a conflicting man. Where he is sweet and…, the women in this book are strong, they are fierce. Chelsea and Sean… sigh; they had this conversation that ended with me bawling like the baby I felt like. Poor Chelsea, she’s just tired of people leaving and not being there… for their family.
This is my first book by Jayne Frost… I’m addicted now! There was this depth to this story that made it a compulsive listen. I wasn’t able to stop listening. The issues were so every day problems that we could all understand. I loved her flawed characters… they are so immature, so self centered, so selfish but once they get pushed a bit… their hearts open. The story is beautiful!
These narrators could not have been any more perfect. I love Elena Wolfe’s voice. It is one I could listen to daily. She completely portrays her characters. It’s like she channels them in and becomes them! Jacob Morgan was just as perfect! He could make me laugh out loud so hard with how expressive his voice could be especially with Logan and doing Logan’s voice. This pair is amazing together! Loved the story… Loved the narration!
Full length book three of the Sixth Street Band series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Each book about a different band member and their HEA. It’s not all about the sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll, but about the band members being their own family. This book really tugs at your heart, it is a second chance romance with Sean and Anna being high school sweethearts. Sean the drummer of the band Caged is the only member with a girlfriend when they get signed. Sean breaks things off with Anna in a big way the night before leaving to go out on tour. He plans on coming back for her, she tries a few times to reach him but it isn’t until four years later that their paths cross again. This book has all the angst and you feel for both Sean and Anna. Their HEA takes time and growing up and forgiveness and it is beautiful to read! I loved it, I highly recommend!!
This is the third book in this awesome series and is Sean and Anna’s story. These two were high school sweethearts and soul mates, until one night changed everything and they went separate ways. This is another beautifully written flawless story by this talented author, and a wonderful second chance love story, which is filled with redemption and love. I cannot wait to read the next book in this addictive series!
No Rock And Roll Fairytale
This is no rock and roll fairytale. From childhood friends to high school sweethearts Sean and Anna thought for sure that a happy ending was what in store for them. That was until demands and ultimatums were made. It all started when Sean and his band had gotten the break there were waiting for but just how did Anna fit into this plan?
I loved that these people were not “perfect” and that realizations that love is just not enough sometimes. That’s was made this book a five star for me…plus the fact that I love rock stars which Sean lived up to in every way.
This is one you don’t want to miss and I can’t wait to see what’s next!!
Again easy ready, not much of a story just two characters going back and further trying to decide if they should be together as they continue to sleep together.
I really liked this book, it was so tender…yet hot!
Very good book
LOVED IT !!
Sean and Anna are finding their way back to each other in this emotional and steamy second chance HEA! Anna and Sean had a plan – even with her plans for college and his band’s gigs they had each other and a future decided upon. But then a fight and a indiscretion leads to their plans crumble around them. Anne has tried for 4 years to forget about Sean. An impossible feat not only as he has her heart but also as he is the father of her daughter. A daughter she neglected to ever inform him of. She never wanted to obligate him and frankly her heart cannot take being his burden. When she was married it was a shield of sorts – not that it was a grande affair of love, especially since he never really warmed to the daughter that wasn’t his. Anna knows it’s probably a mistake to go see Sean, but no one even accused her of being brilliant. Her daughter Willow is going to want to and deserve to know her father, but truthfully that isn’t why she’s going… Sean never for one minute forgot about his Anna-baby. She is everything and he blew it – he likes to blame it on the fact that she wasn’t going to come with him, but truthfully it was all him. She’s married and he lost her and he will never love another. When Anna-baby shows up out of the blue there is no way he is letting her walk way. Husband or no, she’s his girl – always has been, always will be. When he uncovers the news about Willow-baby he is flabbergasted. His family is shattered and he didn’t even realize it. He will put it back together no matter what. Getting Anna-baby to trust him will he difficult. He smashed it quite spectacularly years ago and her heart never really recovered. Then when his career once again threatens his girls he will have to figure out a way to prove that nothing is more important than love and that it was there all along.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
This read was full of all the feels! I fell for Sean and Anna but Willow definitely stole the show. This book was an emotional, gripping, breathtaking beautiful story about second chances and that once in a lifetime love. A definite must read that was hard to put down!
Drummer Sean Hudson had given Anna the ultimatum when his band Caged was tapped to take on the roster that Damaged band had vacated (after two of its members died in a car crash). Sean wanted Anna to tour with him but Anna needed to prioritize her studies. One choice ruined them both, and four years later, Sean still was as wrecked and messed up as he was. A death in the family brought them back together, but that’s just the start of all the surprises that came Sean’s way.
A baby. An asthma attack. A hearing impairment. Cancer. Divorce papers. Band tour or family. Choices. Decisions. Regrets. Tears. Love.
I thought I was already an emotional wreck when I read Christian’s story in Fall With Me. But I was wrong. I didn’t expect this kind of complications (too many to count, I dunno where to put my heart and head!) surrounding Sean Hudson and his Anna-baby and immediate family. Man, this was so heart rending and ridiculously tearjerking!
I loved that this second chance romance isn’t just about getting back together. But it’s more on doing what’s best for the characters to be involved in order to settle their differences. While Sean and Anna’s journey was long and winding and often ended in fork roads, I loved that there were people around them that helped them find the right way. Melissa is an angel, bless her heart. Logan may have been obnoxious and did some things that were way off the boundaries, but I know he’s got a heart, he did have a heart somewhere and I loved that he didn’t give up on his friend.
I don’t know how Jayne Frost does it, but she always manages to make me cry in every book that she writes. The story themselves are all so beautiful, plus the accompaniment of music and lyrics and rockstars are enough to make my heart implode with tears and joy. Missing From Me is now my favorite from the Sixth Street Bands (which I noticed, I’ve always been saying that since the first book) and I don’t know if I could or would still say the same when Logan’s story finally unfolds. OMG, be still my beating heart!
