You can’t make someone love you. You can only stalk them and hope for the best. – Internet Meme
You know what? I get bored real fast, especially with series that go on forever. However this series is NOT one of them!! I just love this series. I love all the characters. This book was a little different because Charley lost her memory and vanished, and popped up in New York. What I really loved was that everyone went to NY to be a part of Charley’s life even if she didn’t remember them. I would’ve been really disappointed if whe didn’t see any of the characters in this book. Everyone was awesome and supportive like always.
Charley/Janey (that is what she called herself) discovered her powers pretty quickly (not all of them ofcourse). In this book she went out to help a couple of folks with their problems. In every book she helps people and solves cases. I love the whole investigating she does. Also Charley is so funny, she makes me laugh out loud. She is one of my all time favorite character. She doesn’t care for her own safety, she just wants to help people.
“Je tái aimée pendant mille et un – R / I’ve loved you for a thousand and one. – R”
Reyes!!! He is so HOT (literally!!). I didn’t go how Charley would react to seeing him for the “first” time. I loved the direction Darynda took with them. Charley can’t help herself she loves him even if she can’t remember. I am hoping for more novellas from Reyes’ POV (I want to know what this guy is thinking!!). Cookie is the bestest friend anyone can have, she was so supportive of Charley. This book didn’t end in a cliffhanger like the previous book (YAY!!). But there are some things that are coming their way though that will cause a lot of trouble. I am very excited to see what Darynda will come up next!!!
“No offense, but what on earth could I ask of you that would be a great hardship?” “You could ask for the world, and then where would civilization be when I conquered it and laid it at your feet?”
This is a bittersweet love story about a man and a woman (Titan & Jesenia) who meet on a cold night when they both felt like life was letting them down. They find comfort in conversation over a cup of coffee in a small diner. This one shared cup of coffee was a pivotal moment in both of their lives because even though they both go their separate ways, it gives them just the right push to keep on trucking down the path of life.
Twenty years later Titan finds himself wondering about Jesenia and how life might have unfolded for her. With a positive push from his son and deceased wife, he decides to write a letter and post it as an ad on Craigs’ List. Meanwhile, Jesenia has found herself stuck in the rut of an unfulfilling and unhappy marriage, her only upside in life is her now adult daughter that whole-heartedly supports her in all she does. Eventually Jesenia finds Titan’s letter and the story all unfolds from there.
Both have secrets and pasts and many issues in their own lives that have the possibility to be problematic, making them face and settle them in their own lives before deciding how to precede in their blossoming friendship. These two seemed to complete each other as if their personalities were two pieces to one single puzzle. This was a tearjerker and definitely one that I won’t be forgetting. Bravo Mara White and K. Larsen!
