Twisted, that’s what marrying for a title is. An enjoyable read.
This is a lovely and very sweet historical romance. I have enjoyed this series and look forward to reading more about this ocean town and it’s characters.
I liked the book because the author’s way of telling the story was kept my interest and wanted to keep on reading. This novel about childhood friends who are the dearest of friends, as they grow up and realize they love and care so much for each other and would not feel that way towards any other. The h got influenced by her worldly cousin that she had to elevate her and her family’s position in the world by catching a wealthy and titled husband. So she told her friend that she hurt her friend, the H saying she could not marry him . They stopped associating with each other for several years and the H has become a barrister.
The h’s sister believed the H and h were meant for each other . She writes the H that her sister has feelings for him also so he comes back home to their town to reconnect with the h. He was riding so fast to get home, he has an accident and gets thrown by his horse and develops amnesia. That day at the beach when the h said hurtful words to the H, she also walked to the water with her boots and clothes on and almost drowned but was saved by the H who also almost drowned because he did not even know how to swim. The H’s mother found out what happened and hated the h because the from then on, the lively , cheerful personality of her son changed to serious and gloomy. So the mother hated the h and did what she could to separate her son and the h even when the H, William courted the h, Harriett and they knew they really loved each other.
Good book but enjoyed her sister’s story more. This h was a little frustrating at times. But otherwise an easy-read.
short story
A very good example of a light read that keeps you entertained, and doesn’t resort to silly plots and idiotic characters.
A pleasure to read.
I Loved the hero in this book. I felt the ending was quite touching.
I loved it
This book was very shallow. Very little action and very little to recommend. The characters were undeveloped. Little plot.
Can’t believe a woman of her breeding would even wager. Great Read
Clean, sweet story
Good charactors and fun to read
On le lit…et on l’oublie ! Contagion de l’amnésie du personnage ?
It dragged
Enjoyed reading a nice clean romance that was very realistic.
Harriett and William I enjoyed both of the leading characters and how the rekindled their friendship from when they were children, despite Harriett’s unwillingness. Both had to deal with hurts from their past and interfering mothers.
Whole series is great
Unique plot. . . true love wins. . . twist plots and turns.
Good story and no steamy sex to wade through. Yea!!!
Liked it very much
