Liam Davenport is the most infuriating man I’ve ever known – and he’s my boss. Worse, he’s undeniably sexy. At least until I’m subject to one of his trademark sighs of disapproval. I’m counting the days until I can walk away from this job. But first, I need to survive the trip from hell he’s dragged me on. One entire week with his arrogant smile and my unexpected naughty thoughts. I might get …
I might get fired.
He just might be worth it.
Kendall Tate is the most distracting woman I’ve ever met – and she’s my assistant.
She’s irritatingly clever, and much too nice for the likes of me. I need to remain professional, even if the smell of her strawberry lip gloss is my kryptonite. No matter how much I want her, Kendall is off limits.
Growing closer to her might be a mistake.
I might just take the risk.
Full Length Standalone book with no cliffhanger. First book of the “Miss Series”.
Miss Understanding is for mature audiences due to steamy bedroom scenes that are in no way contained to just the bedroom.

If you love smart, witty, sexy office romances, this book is for you! You will root for Kendall to win over Liam from page one! Aubrey is on the top of her game and just keeps getting better with every book! Highly recommend!!!
On the beginning of my review I must confess something to you. I am quite new to Aubrey’s writing but after few her books and this one especially I know that I will be waiting for more. Yes this story is so good and it has got one of my favourite tropes – enemies to lovers and office romance in one amazing story. It will suck you in and it would be really hard for all of you to put your reader down.
It’s a story about Liam and Kendell. He is an attorney set on a goal to become a partner in his firm and let’s face it he definitely isn’t nice to his assistant who is Kendell. She is trying to do her best and even that law isn’t her favourite thing in life she is focused on something quite different. If you want to know how their story will go you have to read this book cause I didn’t want to spoil anything to you and ruin that amazing book. This book is everything I needed cause I even laughed few times and that don’t happen often. And that’s why I reccomend this story to all of you and I am looking forward for next books in the series.
I loved Liam’s character. Even though I want to strangle him at first… I loved him.
’m a huge fan of the super talented Aubrey Bondurant, and I’ve read everything she has written. She gets better with each book, which is truly saying something since every book has been fantastic. Her writing style is best described as adult contemporary erotic romantic comedy—smutty chick-lit—but whatever anyone calls it, make no mistake, readers will be treated to an engaging, smart and witty story. She writes the kind of romances that just pull the reader right in with a sexy love story, endearing characters and charming details. If Aubrey Bondurant’s name is not already on your TBR, it needs to be. She is a not-to-be-missed indie author that every contemporary romance fan needs to experience.
Miss Understanding kicks off Bondurant’s newest series, the Miss series, and I’m officially hooked. A workplace romance—one of my favorite tropes from Bondurant because she just does them so well—was an emotional, hard fought love story. Liam Davenport, a controlling, demanding and often condescending attorney who is also frustratingly hot, fights his attraction to his assistant by basically ignoring her or being rude. He’s all business all the time, solely focused on his career aspirations, and his demeanor seems to be set to brusque and cold. Kendall Tate is one hardworking young woman. Holding down a very challenging position as Liam’s legal secretary, Kendall is pursuing a business degree at night and working a second job on the weekends to help her family out. Being Liam Davenport’s assistant is not her dream job by any stretch of the imagination, and she’s practically counting down the days until she can leave.
An unanticipated set of circumstances puts Liam and Kendall in close quarters, and he is forced to tamp down the attitude, and in doing so, he actually gets to know Kendall. White hot chemistry and a pull neither had ever experienced has them to crossing lines, and as Kendall gets to know Liam, she sees beyond his grumpy personality to the man beneath.
Miss Understanding was full of genuine heart-tugging emotion, and this well written, richly developed story grabbed my attention from the first page. While Liam wasn’t always easy to root for, I found myself doing exactly that in the end. An absolutely addicting story, I devoured this book, and I’m anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. Five smooches from me for Miss Understanding by Aubrey Bondurant!

At this time I have read this book twice…. and both times it had me feeling it all! This is kind of an enemies-to-lovers story, but really that is only because Liam is trying his hardest to make Kendall hate him so that there is no temptation! He is a jerk of the century boss. The kind that no one would want to work for. But then when they finally get together…… H-O-T! This book had me laughing…. I there was no major ugly cry involved this time…. but there were some tears in my eyes (both times I have read it!!!) And there were sometime I just wanted to shake Liam…. but most of the time he was totally making me swoon! I can not recommend this book enough… ESPECIALLY if you are a fan of office romances! This couple is one that you will be rooting for the whole way through……
And you also meet a great cast of characters that I can not wait to get their stories! Especially the doctor!!!
Well, well, well…….. I definitely need a cold shower after this!!!
Miss Aubrey Bondurant you just made yourself a new fan!! Some tropes have been done A LOT, enemies to lovers are one of them BUT Miss Understanding is sooooo freaking good I didn’t mind it at all.
And don’t get me started on the Narration, both these narrators are new to me and I’m definitely going to look for more books by them.
The characters are AMAZING but I have to admit that I was screaming at Liam a couple of times and I might have called him a few bad names. That just shows you how good the writing is….. when you have emotional outbursts towards a character!!!
With a completely lovable heroine, this book has been a delight to red. I loved watching as Liam came into himself and began to thaw in the warmth of Kendall’s heart. Her strength and courage, as well as her fundermental kindness and empathy, gave him chances he would have missed if he hadn’t met her! Lovely
Audio review
I loved this story. The melting of Liam, and the strength and kindness of Kendall and the story itself, all worked in a way which made this a nom-stop listen for me. Christopher Rourke and, particularly, Ariel Royce, were fabulous narrators. I particularly felt that Ariel’s delivery was nuanced and warm. This audio has been an absolute pleasure to listen to
OMFG!! What did I Just finished Reading!! This Book!! MISS UNDERSTANDING by Aubrey Bondurant is PHENOMENAL!! I was an Emotional Wreck with All the Freakn Feels!! DEFINITELY A MUST READ BOOK!!!
I absolutely loved this new author to me and her writing. This book had such a quick pace to it and had me laughing out loud. I loved the tension and build up between the characters and truly cannot wait to read more from this author
Loved this story, didn’t want it to end.
MISS UNDERSTANDING is an example of the kind of romance books I love to read. There’s a credible storyline, the plotting and pacing is spot on, there’s humour peppered throughout, I like the main characters and I think they make a great couple.
Liam Davenport and Kendall Tate are both strong and hard-working individuals. Their underlying vulnerabilities made for complex characters that I was interested in reading about. They often butt heads, making for some very funny scenes, but what I loved about them is that the lines of communication were always open. Yes, there were misunderstandings and hurt feelings but they both actively worked through these times to come to a place of understanding. It’s refreshing to read a romance where the couple act like rational and reasonable adults.
I highly recommend this book and will be eagerly waiting for the next book in this series.
This author is a new-ish author to me and I have really enjoyed everything I have read so far, so when it was announced that a new series was coming, I couldn’t wait to read it and it was better than I thought. I could not put down Liam and Kendall’s story. It is an enemies to lovers romance filled full of intense but sweet moments that had me dying to see how it all ended. If you have not read this author before, then this is the perfect place to start!!
Liam and Kendall were an interesting pair. Boss and executive assistant.
Kendall is a pistol and can certainly give Liam a run for his money.
This pair made me laugh throughout the book with their banter.
I love when a ruthless jerk meets his match and he realizes (always too late) that he has met the one. Liam was no exception.
I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series and in the meantime I will read some more of Audreys books.
If you are looking for a book to get you out of a book slump look no further! When I started this book I had a lot going on in my life. I wanted a book to give me an escape. This book did that plus a whole a lot more. I have been an avid reader of Aubrey’s for sometime. I have to tell you I might have a new favorite book. Kendall’s heart is so big and putting others before herself. Liam coming across as a jerk when in fact he is just a little broken. The back and forth between these two along with the visuals Aubrey gives you makes it like you are not just reading it, but could easily be watching this as well. I love the classiness of Kendall and Liam’s new level of hotness and jerk ways.
The best part of this is I am so excited that this book opened up characters that will hopefully get to read down the road and still see glance of Kendall and Liam!
Liam is an absolute jerk to work for and he doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. Kendall is working as Liam’s assistant while finishing college. When she has to accompany him on a trip it will test them both. Will they see a new side of each other or freeze any chance they have at a relationship?
This was my first Aubrey Bondurant book and I can’t wait to read more of her work! I loved Liam and Kendall. Miss Understanding made me laugh and want to strangle Liam all at the same time. As a good enemies to lovers should, this book is so hot it almost combusts. Looking forward to book 2.
I….LOVED….THIS…BOOK!!! The story was really great and it was very well written. She did an excellent job of making you feel what the characters were feeling. I loved Liam and Kendall. In the beginning, I was totally adding to her list of ways to hurt him but at the end I found myself so happy about how it turned out. I give it a 20 out of 10. Definitely a great read!
Liam and Kendall are both attracted to each other but will not act on that attraction due to office dynamics. She is his assistant and he has a no dating coworkers rule . He will do nothing to jeopardize his goal of becoming a partner at his law firm. As much as you try to dislike Liam, you end up cheering for him to succeed. A death in the family and a large deposition have Kendall and Liam sharing living quarters for a week. I couldn’t stop listening as I wanted to know if sparks would fly or not. They are both so stubborn and say the wrong things constantly. If they act on their attraction it will be a miracle. Loved this audio book so much I listened to it in one day.
Very funny. I can see it happening. I would recommend this book
It was a good enough story that shows the love develop slowly.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but I enjoyed it. Liam comes across as the biggest jerk to walk the planet at the beginning, but I quickly warmed up to him. I liked the Liam we got to know in the end. Liam and Kendall together were a force to be reckoned with.
The only thing that stopped me giving a solid five stars was a few plot inconsistencies in the book. All in all, it was a pleasant read. If you like contemporary romance then this is a book for you
