Meet Hilary Watts: pretty, straight A-student, teachers’ pet, goody two-shoes, totally has it all together—and has never been kissed, or even had a boyfriend for that matter.Meet Grayson Dymicks: badarse persona, new guy in school, just moved in next door, volatile—and a total jerk. When Hilary finds herself attracted to the very person she shouldn’t be, she never imagines all her well-placed … shouldn’t be, she never imagines all her well-placed Jenga blocks will come crashing down—or that her first ever kiss will be with a boy every girl in school wants for themselves.
Hilary’s life is turned upside down and she realises she’s not as put together as she thought. Instead, she’s as totally messed up as all the other teenage girls her age—but is this a romance destined for a happily ever after or a broken heart?

I loved this book hard. I couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters and the chemistry between hil-dary and Grayson. If you’re looking for a light read, this is for sure the book for you
Love this amazing beautiful sweet innocent love story of Gray and Hillary.Looking forward to more
Hilary and her best friend Freddy, have goals and nothing and no one is going to stop them from reaching those said goals that is until Grayson.
The joys and trauma of growing up and facing reality was spot on, I was captivated by the characters and how they learn to deal with the pressures of growing up and falling in love for the first time.
I loved every part of this book it was so funny that I found myself laughing so hard that I couldn’t breath. The push and pull of Greyson and Hillary’s relationship was so cute I loved it. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
I really loved this book!!! I was hooked from the beginning and didn’t want it to end! This was such a cute, fun, high school love story. I loved the brooding hot jerk and nerdy goody two shoes type storyline. Throw in an identical twin to the mix, plus a goal driven best friend. Follows the typical high school dramas, the parties and secrecies! I want more Grayson!!!!
Amazing YA wich proves that Belle Brooks van write in any genre she wants!
Loved reading this cute love story between 2 teens!
Wish there was more!
This is a beautifully written, heartstrings pulling, angst-filled, coming-of-age story.
Hilary has her life all mapped out, but when she meets Grayson she learns that it’s okay not to be perfect all the time.
Grayson opens Hilary’s eyes to all she’s been missing while she’s been trying to be miss perfect, and when she discovers she’s not as above everyone else as she wants to be, it leads her on a new path of discovery.
Hilary is a teenager, which means she’s full of angst, full of drama, and full of hilarious moments that she never intended to be funny.
Belle Brooks kills it with her exploration into the world of YA. I don’t read YA that often, but I absolutely loved this book and read it in one sitting. The characters act their age, and it’s easy to go back in time and remember what those precious self-discovery years were like. Belle Brooks has proven time and time again that she can write anything and always hits the mark.
The ordinary made extraordinary….
I really loved this young adult story..about Hilary a smart girl next door type who really has got it together. Hilary and her best friend, Freddy, (Everybody needs a Freddy in their lives) are ambitious and nothing is going to stop them achieving their goals until that is Grayson walks into the school and from that point on Hilary’s best laid plans begin to take a backseat…
Told from Hilary’s perspective this is a funny, bittersweet coming of age story… on the surface it is about a clever but slightly hapless girl who draws the attention, and not necessarily in a good way, of the gorgeous new boy… but underneath there are so many hidden threads about love, loss, ambition and sacrifice.
The angst and trauma of growing up and facing reality is wonderfully described by this skilled author… and I was completely captivated by the characters; in summary this is an everyday tale about an everyday young woman whose life story is every bit as unique and extraordinary as the lives we all live… I received an advanced copy of this book from the author
Belle is truly the master of writing any genre. This YA of hers is fantastic. Such a great read and an easy one too. Here’s to many more YA’s. Thanks Belle
Belle Brooks does another wonderful job with this young adult story and I enjoyed every minute of it. Hilary is your forward futures kid who seems to have her life neatly played in a bow. Then Greyson happens and her once out together world starts to unravel. I enjoyed reading of the journey that Hilary went through to realize that life is not only all about planning for the future but it’s about living in the moments and the present. Definitely recommend this book!!
Young Adult romance reads are one of my all-time favourite reads and when I find one about first love with all the feels when then I am instantly intrigued. Belle Brooks has managed to write a young adults story that has to be one of the top reads of this genre as it really explored the feelings of growing up and being a teenager. I found that I really connected to the story and some parts in the story really reflect the way I felt when I was the age of the main character in the story.
I absolutely adored Hilary and found that she was a great character. I loved the relationships that she had with her family and her best friend Freddy. It was obvious how important these people are to her. I really loved the way that Hilary dealt with getting older and becoming an adult. I found that she was responsible but she was also funny and I loved the banter she got into with Grayson.
Grayson was perfect for Hilary as he was her opposite. I loved the way that he was outspoken and really cared for her. It was obvious from the start that he really liked her as he was there for her when she needed someone. I did find Grayson to be a mystery at the start of the book but as I read more of the story I grew to love the character.
I read this story all in one sitting because I could not get enough of this story. I absolutely loved it and found myself so engrossed in the story that nothing else mattered but reading to the end. This book once again shows that the author can write any genre and they have once again written an epic read that I loved.
This book was the easy to read story I needed. I loved the banter and Hilary’s sassy attitude combined with Grayson’s A-hole attitude. The characters were perfectly written and you could see how they grew from beginning to end. If you want something fun and easy this is the perfect book.
There is no end to the variety of sub-genres that Belle Brooks produces.
This YA novel follows the lives of some high school kids. The good girl and the bad boy… Every girl loves a bad boy, yeah?
Grayson is a mysterious newcomer and immediately becomes one of the popular kids. Hilary with her very good friend Freddy, have very serious plans for the future.
Of course these plans take a bit of a back seat when Hilary develops feelings for the mysterious newcomer.
There are the inevitable bad decisions fueled by alcohol and misunderstandings but rest assured all comes good in the end.
Once again Belle Brooks’ style draws you right into the story. On this occasion, this story isn’t really to my taste. I’m sure however that committed readers to the YA genre will love it.
A sweet story, about first kiss, first love, and self discovery..
…during this confusion time of adolescence, of many changes and awareness..
It was hilarious. It was witty and full of sarcasm. It had all the awkward and cute moments of teenage love. Miss Not Together by Belle Brooks was like cool breeze in a warm summer day. I am in love with this sweet romantic story of Grayson and Hilary.
Hilary is the definition of planned and sorted out young girl. Ambitious, talented, smart and sassy. But her well put together life is crumbling like a sand castle under the weight of a moody and brooding bad boy, Grayson. He is exact opposite than her. But they have this connection in their soul. This dilemma gives rise to sometimes funny and sometimes deep moments in their lives. Grayson is hiding a lot behind his bad boy mask. And so is Hilary. The author tackles a lot of issues in this story. Body image issues, high school bullying, teenager-parent struggles, school issues, identity crisis and many more things. Hilary and Grayson complete each other and change each other for the better and stronger. I loved the side characters like Tray (Grayson’s brother), Hilary’s dad and Hilary’s best friend Freddy. This story talks about young love without being immature or childish.
Miss Not Together by Belle Brooks is an entertaining journey with two very interesting young persons. I laughed a lot. I felt sad a bit with the emotional side. But it was a complete package!
(Received ARC for honest review)
Such a relief not to be a teenager again.
This was a fast paced, easy to read novel full of teen angst. She hates him but really admires him. There’s the cliche popular group and she’s a smart nerd. It was a fun story and I enjoyed reading it.
Miss Not Together brings us back into the world of teenagers and the pains of growing up. Hilary is navigating her life as a high school student, boys, friends, and family life in typical teenage fashion. She has always been the rule follower, but now she finds a bit of her rebellious side.
If you like YA books than this is a sweet easy read.
I normally am not fussed with young adult stories however this one is definitely worth reading!
Hilary Watts and Grayson Dymicks meet at school and instantly dislike each other. Then Hilary discovers Grayson’s going to become even more of a pain in her neighbourhood. Luckily she has her best friend, Freddy, to help her get through this teenage disaster.
This extremely easy to read, fast paced book is such a fun, lighthearted read. There are some deeper elements however the overall feel is light and so real. Great characters that have the ability to laugh at themselves as well as poke fun at friends. Hilary’s life certainly changes but I am pleased to see she still sticks to her convictions and am sure that one day she will make prime minister!
I love ya and this book was no exception it was such a great book well written and fades to black when it came to the little naughty bits and that’s what i loved the most.
This story was of a nerd and the perfect bad boy who took no crap.
I love the chemistry and the banter between the two main characters and loved reading their story evolve into more than friends. This was a slow story from enemies to friends to lovers and i loved everything about it.
I loved Hilary she was so put together and had her dreams in front of her and nothing was going to get in her way and i loved the friendship she had with her best friend Freddy he was exactly the same as her and there friendship was so nerdy.
Grayson was a mystery to start off with and made me love him more, he was a bit of a arse to start off with and wasn’t sure what was going to happen to make is bad attitude change. I also loved Tray and he made me laugh.
This was a fantastic story of a young girl going through puberty and learning how to become a woman and really gaining different feelings.
Loved everything about this book and is such an awesome YA read that was cute and funny
Belle Brooks has such a vivid imagination that I will follow wherever she leads!
In Miss Not Together, we meet Grayson, who thinks the world of himself, but of course we understand there is a reason for his behavior. How do we find out why he is such a jerk?
Our Miss Together, Hilary, next door neighbor to Grayson, is NOT interested…but as many times as she tells her body, she just can’t stop it from wanting him! Say hello to Miss NOT Together!
As their worlds collide, Hilary learns that she can’t ‘think’ her way through her feelings for her badass attraction.
Revisit your childhood firsts -kiss, heartbreak, and BIG mistakes. And then smile, because Brooke makes this funny young adult story stand out <3
Oh the joys of being a teenager thinking that your life is all planned out and nothing will get in your way. Certainly not a little thing like love and boys. Hilary and her bestie Freddy have a life plan. Hilary has a laser focus to achieve her and Freddy’s dreams. That is, until Grayson enters her school, moves next door with his dad and twin and consumes her every thought.
This is a coming of age, first love story. There are many firsts that the characters must navigate and the story reminds us the joys of being a teenager. I really enjoyed Hilary and Grayson’s story and found many parallels to back when I was that age.
