When Brooke hatches a scheme to save Toujour by hiring Luke, the city’s most eligible bachelor, as a client, he agrees to go along with it—but only because she’s moving to Italy with her fiancé if the company closes. Each failed date brings Luke closer to losing Brooke forever, but each successful one brings Brooke nearer to admitting she’s wrong. Can Luke finally break out of the friend zone, or will Brooke’s attempts to find him love work a little too well?

Lindzee Armstrong is quickly becoming one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. I love her storytelling ability–the characters, their struggles, and ultimately, how they end up falling in love with each other. I ached for the hero and heroine in this book, knowing that they’d be good together but frustrated by their own shortcomings that kept them apart. I’ll definitely be checking out more of this series! Would recommend this book for anyone who loves clean, witty romance!
Great story. Delightful characters especially Brooke, Luke, Zoey, and Mitch. At the beginning of the story, Luke is definitely a mess. He’s barely hanging on by a thread. It didn’t take long to find myself at the middle of the story where Luke is beginning to improve but Brooke is beginning to fall apart. Seemingly, only moments later, the story came to a rousing conclusion.
Second read cause I missed making a review. Enjoyed it the 2nd time, too. Some bias cause I have tried a matchmaker service (likely since the first read but before this one).
This is a very nicely developed somewhat credible plot … especially in the digital millionaire generation. I can believe they went to high school together. I can believe she didn’t want to risk their friendship for love given her parental experience. Some parts made me smile, a few laughs, a few sad sighs. But I loved the character Andi and I look forward to her story next. grins.
For those who like romance with kissing and implied sex without the biological details, this does it great.
I liked it and enjoyed reading it
This is a cute story, what is often called “friends to lovers.” I will admit it was mildly frustrating in some parts. I don’t want to give away any spoilers so I’ll leave it at that. There’s no sex scenes (in case you were wondering). It’s just a nice chick-lit read that I really enjoyed.
A professional matchmaker doesn’t realize she is really in love with her best friend.
No brainer with a good happily ever after.
This was a fun read, but maybe not realistic. It was engaging and a bit of an escape which is nice right now.
What a great introduction to this series. Brooke and Luke are friends, and is shows as they try hard to use that friendship. But when Brooke needs help, she brings Luke on as a client. I loved the struggle for them both it was to finally get together. They both seemed to be blocking themselves from letting go. That internal struggle brings drama and even laughter. Lindzee Armstrong writes a sweet, fun and uplifting romance. I really enjoyed reading this and need to find out more about Luke and Brooke.
Tiffany WIlliams has the perfect voice for this heartwarming story. I love listening to her narration and this book is no exception. Ms. Williams always brings life to the stories she narrates. Ms. Williams has a talent for bringing out each character’s personality. If Ms. Williams is narrating, it is a must listen to for me.
A Wonderful & Lighthearted Story.
Brooke & Luke’s Friendship was so Adorable & Wonderfully Chariot.
This Story was Funny as well. Very clean & Delightful.
Poor Brooke was constantly struggling to try & stay away from being photographed & gossiped about in the Celebrity Gossip columns Luke couldn’t seem to stay out of. Especially after his Father passed away. The paparazzi was constantly at his heels regardless of where he went.
I had a real hard time with her. Some of the things she said and did don’t mess with the reasons she gave for her actions. I though he deserved better. This story does have a HEA for the characters.
Really great!
I am a romantic at heart, though realistic enough to know it doesn’t always work out. I loved the story of childhood friends. She obviously was young and hurt by her family drama, wanting something more for herself. He was young and in love and he never grew out of the childhood friendship enough to show her he loved her until he almost lost her. Brooke ran the entire relationship and almost lost it all. Great book for easy reading and lovers dreams!
Cute story but too long
This was a dnf at 50% for me. I disliked the main characters too much to finish the book.
A delightful well written best friends to more romance. This storyline is a amazing well written journey of two best friends years later both broken struggling with their own issues. They are in denial of their chemistry and connection in fear of losing what they have and of possibly missing their chance years before. Brooke is struggling with her engagement and situations surrounding it and her fiancee struggling with her problems and spotlighting with Luke. Luke is struggling with the loss of his dad and playboy, drinking downspiral of almost losing the company. A fun fantastic story. I voluntarily listened and reviewed this ARC with the narration that had me wonderfully hooked from beginning to end. The characters are interesting, well developed and had me hoping for more. A must listen or read series and I can’t wait to order and listen to more.
This is such a sweet book. Of course it has some sad points, but what life doesn’t. It is a going against the odds and trying to have Faith even in moments of believing what you have experienced in the lives watching what happened with others, in this case her parents and her best friend. It turned out well for them in the end of the book, but no other spoilers to be given. I look forward to reading the other books included in this authors series. 🙂
This was another EXCELLENT read by Lindzee Armstrong! I can’t wait to read more books in this series!! I love the characters! Also, I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did an excellent job with the speed and voices! Definitely a must read! I can only recommend to add it to your wishlist, TBR pile, must read list…..any list you have!
The plot was classic but had a few twists to keep it interesting. I enjoyed the character development through the story and their evolving friendship. A sweet read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I did not want to say goodbye to these characters. I was so glad to find the two sequels which were equally delightful. These are clever, well-written stories.
