This set includes:
1 – SIMPLY SOPHIA
Let me set the scene for you so you get a picture. Sophie is quite literally an accident waiting to happen. It’s true, she has every intention of somehow one day marrying Elias St. John but, she’s already set his coat tails on fire and when trying to save herself from a fall grabbed his neckcloth and all but strangled him. To say Elias didn’t have much tolerance for her, especially after she’s proposed to him so many times, is putting things mildly.
Imagine her surprise when at the dressmakers she met one Lord Phillip Randall, Marquess of Lancaster and not only did he know her name but he was a friend of Eli’s. This conversation set things in motion with the bit of insanity that tended to follow Sophie wherever she went. It’s truly been a long time since I’ve laughed so hard at antics. If you’ve ever heard the saying “didn’t know what hit him,” then you will relate to this story. It was naughty, funny, thoughtful, sad, heartwarming. But most of all, it was about love and a steadfast belief and devotion towards what the heart knows to be true. It was wonderful.
2 – MAD ABOUT MARGO
Do you remember Margo? Hope House’s little Princess that was adopted by Robert and Elizabeth? She’s 19 now, her brothers each 13 and 10. She just graduated from Mrs. Forsyth’s Seminary for Impeccable Young Ladies and even though the Rotherfords had vetted the place, the ton was very unforgiving to those born of lesser birth. Elizabeth was adamant about protecting Margo from such things. Be that as it may, Margo was bored and restless. So Robert had come up with the idea that since Hope House had grown and was needing requesting more help, perhaps Margo could go back to Hope House and help with the children and perhaps help her to grow up.
What about Thomas? Remember, he was Jasper’s son. We met him after Jasper had become an employee of Spencer Rotherford. Well, apparently, their station in life had been elevated because of Jasper’s employment which meant Thomas was eleven when he went from running wild in the streets to living in a decent apartment, having to attend school while learning his letters and numbers along with proper manners and dictation.
What an absolutely heart tugging romance. S. Cinders has tugged the heart strings in this one. Letting us see them meet when they were children and then become witness to the struggle when perceived social standings seemingly get in the way. When love becomes self sacrificing and the other person all consuming. This is the culmination of every family members love, devotion, fear, acceptance and loyalty and brought to a head. Making Margo and Thomas the pinnacle of a new generation and a beacon of hopes and dreams. Anything is possible.
This is the perfect ending to a great series and an absolute brilliant way to leave the door open for S. Cinders next series “Rakes vs Wildflowers”
