I really enjoyed the friendships and way the story unfolded. I really felt like I was at the school in the different areas! The author was able to pull me in to the story and filled in the backstory nicely. The various characters are very richly drawn making them interesting and interagral to the journey. I’m looking forward to the next …
I really enjoyed this book. It was surprising and interesting. It kept interested for the entire book and left me wanting more from this universe of witches. I highly recommend it.
Loved this book. The character descriptions allow you to see them before you, and allow your minds eye to visualize the entire book. Beautifully written!
Too much like a take off of Harry Potter.
I loved this book. The characters are unique and the story kept twisting in ways I did not expect! Upon turning the last page, I immediately purchased the sequel!
Bianca, a student in a school for witches, set her goals and worked to reach those goals. Her family problems, making new friends, and striving to reach her goal all contribute to a good story.
Loved it
Didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did! I thought with the heroine being 16 it might have been more suited to young adult readers, but as a very mature reader I can honestly say it was very enjoyable.
This is the start of a new series. The author does a good job of world building and of outlining the characters we are going to love. One strength/weakness of the series is that the primary characters are teenagers. Self-absorbed just begins to cover it. Still, the book and the series are worth the angst, and the characters do grow into their …
She captures the world of adolescent girls away at boarding school quite well while imbuing her characters with psychological flaws so important for making the story realistic.
I really enjoyed this first book and have started the second one! Really enjoying them!
Strong female character but the entire book seemed designed solely to promote the rest of the series rather than a story of it’s own.
This book is engaging and imaginative.
Great for teenagers and grandmothers looking for escapism.

This book, I thought, would be a formulaic “girl has goal. Turbulence along the way. Girl reaches goal. Everyone happy.” Instead, this wonderful world of magic and being a teen had a profound series of mysteries about the nature of Bianca and her family, as well as the unfolding of a world on its edge. The characters of the girls are …
Good read for tweens to adults. Good story development with a twist of mystery. I’m not good at writing reviews but I liked this book. Will be buying the next in the series.
