Miss Julia—that Southern spitfire of a certain age who is never less than charming, even when she’s at her most opinionated—has been praised by Fannie Flagg as “one of the most delightful characters to come along in years.” Don’t miss Ann Ross’s newest, Miss Julia Weathers The Storm. In Miss Julia Hits the Road, she is becoming increasingly concerned about her gentleman friend, Sam, who has … gentleman friend, Sam, who has suddenly started wearing cowboy boots, sending her flowers, and writing bad poetry. And when he shows up on a Harley-Davidson Road King and asks her to hop on, she’s convinced he’s lost his mind. Meanwhile, her invaluable housekeeper, Lillian, has been evicted from her home by her greedy landlord. Deciding that Lillian’s need is greater than her own fear (not to mention loss of dignity), Miss Julia takes Sam up on his offer and sets off on a motorcycle Poker Run to raise some fast cash. She’s ready to risk life and limb in Sam’s sidecar to save Lillian’s home from the bulldozer, but will Miss Julia’s scheme work?

I love the Miss Julia books. The characters are funny and engaging. There is enough action to keep you reading until the very end of the book.
Miss Julia’s adventures are always fun.
I have read all the Miss Julia books. So funny and entertaining. Have recommended them to all my friends!
Miss Julia is the best series ever! If you’re from the south, I’m sure you’ve met her before!
I kept wondering if I’d missed the first book in a series, as a very incomplete run down of the characters previous lives and relationships unfolded with lots of gaps and questions unanswered. I found myself wishing that the author hadn’t worked so hard to make the point that Miss Julia was very proper and old fashioned.
This is an old fashioned charmer and an unlikely cast of characters. A gentle telling makes it a G rated story. It honors older people with their lives being invested as well and relevant to others and especially so the awkward child.
Love the humor!
As usual, Miaa Julia will tackle anything to help her friends.
You can’t go wrong with a Miss Julia book. Julia is persuaded to ride in a motorcycle Poker Run to raise some fast cash to help her maid, Lilian, who has been evicted from her home by a greedy landlord.
Did not like the characters. Story was slow and boring.
Miss Julia is pure fluff, but as a Southerner myself, she rings true. Even when involved in outlandish plots, she always manages to stay in character.
Hilarious. Laugh out loud funny at times. Love Miss Julia. She can do no wrong.
Excellent, entertaining series!
It was a fun read. Being more “mature”, I enjoyed reading about these gals having fun and even falling in love. Having said that, I would recommend it to anyone for its humor, and seeing a bad guy getting what he deserves without blood and gore.
Loved Miss Julia, Same and Lillian as well as their friends. Found this book easy & delightful to read. Would love to find out what came next.
I read a lot of her books very fun to read!!
The Miss Julia books bring to life the love and concern for others found in Southern ladies of a certain age. I highly recommend them.
Dated, boring.
