I know rock stars. I grew up in the business, and now I make a living managing their tours. I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Lots and lots of ugly.
All that ugly is why I’ve sworn off dating rockers, but sleeping with them, well…I’ve been known to make the occasional exception.
One sultry night in Vegas, Mo Aronson, lead singer of Unrequited, becomes one of those exceptions. We … Unrequited, becomes one of those exceptions. We dance, we connect, we…get married.
That wasn’t in the cards. And the positive pregnancy test a few weeks later really wasn’t in the cards.
Despite the shock, I think I can handle becoming a mom. What I’m not sure I can handle is the younger, bad boy rocker who won’t back down no matter how many times I push him away.

So timely.
On a bigger picture, this book is coming out at the perfect time (what with events going on in our world).
In the microcosm of this book, it was a great and refreshing surprise. Moses “Mo” is 26, a rocker who is NOT looking to settle down. Nope gonna play around. Until in a dive bar in Vegas he meets tour manager Michaela. He’s shaking off an unwanted groping.
She’s older, on to the bad boy ways of rock stars but down with a hook up. And they do. And more, like get married and make a baby. But that’s just the start.
It’s a rocky road because they have to find out if they actually have any sort of relationship.
Recommend.
This is the second book in the series and I do recommend that you read book one before this one. Yes, this is about a different character but you get to know all the characters and the relationships. Plus, there will be spoilers from the first book.
If you have read any of the Blue is the Color series you will have met Moses already. His story is so not what I was expecting it to be. The author takes you on such and emotional and surprising story you won’t be able to put the book down. There are unexpected events and things you thought were going to happen that don’t. You will experience many highs and lows with Moses and Michaela. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I loved this book! Their chemistry was awesome and Moses was a doll! I love a story like this. Two people so damaged by how they were raised but instead of making the same mistakes their parents did they try to be better! It’s easier for those that have seen love to know how to give it. Michaela has been burned and has a lot to work through and Moses is young so he has to mature quick! It’s so much fun watching them grow and learn to love! Another must read from Julia Wolf!
I was given an ARC copy for an honest review and I honestly believe everyone will love this book
Absolutely great book!!! I’ve waited for Mo’s story and it did not disappoint. I love Mo & Mic they are soo cute. I loved the ups & downs and that I never know where the author is going to go next. Seriously Gingersnaps!!! Best ever!!! Can’t wait for the next one.
This book is amazing! Mo and Michaela’s story is one I’ll forever love! My emotions were all over the place with this one, as they tend to be with Julia’s books! She makes you feel what these characters feel and always leaves you wanting more!
I loved seeing the softer side of Mo as we watched him grow up. His character has been a favorite since we first read about him in Times Like These.
I can’t wait to see what’s next for the Unrequited group!
Another fantastic book from Julia! I loved it! I loved Mo and Michaela! One drunken wedding that ended up with a baby made for a very entertaining story! Misconception was an emotional story filled with witty banter, explosive chemistry, misunderstandings and romance. Mo and Michaela have many obstacles to overcome in their way to happiness! I love the Unrequited series! Julia has written a fantastic 2nd book in the series! I can’t wait for book3!
I was very quickly lost in this story and I didn’t want to walk away from these characters! Mo and Michaela are an unlikely duo, but the chemistry between them was undeniable! I was excited to step back into the lives of Unrequited. Mo has portrayed a playboy and sometimes has lived up to that rockstar lifestyle, but it’s not who he is. He’s tired of the life and when he’s in Vegas for a show, he wants to get away for a bit to just be. He runs into someone he knows and she’s completely unexpected. Michaela doesn’t date rockstars. Been there done that. But she can’t deny the pull to Mo. And whew boy! I loved this book! I couldn’t read it fast enough. I wanted them to last. I wanted them to have an epic love story. I loved how sensitive Mo was and how he was with Michaela. She’s a bit prickly and he had to learn how to work with that. This couple was very complementary of each other and I didn’t want to put this book down! I can’t recommend this read enough!
Mo and Mic were amazing!! I’ve been waiting forever for Mo to get his book! This book was so good!!! I’m not going to lie, I wanted to smack Mic upside her head so many times and scream!
I loved their story and now I NEED Yael’s book
LOVED Moses and Mic’s story! I’ve been waiting for this one and this author does not disappoint. SO MUCH ANGST! Like angst on steroids. For once I was yelling at the heroine to get her head out of her a$%! Moses is such a sweetheart. Mic is as stubborn as they come. I get where they are coming from, when you have an ‘unconventional’ upbringing, what seems normal to most people feels like a challenge. Throw a baby into the mix and it can all get crazy, but these two just need to get on the same page. Its like maybe they are on the same page but they are not speaking the same language? Without proper communication I couldn’t see a happy ending for these two. I felt like it was Mic dropping the ball for the most part though. They sizzled right off the page though and still I felt there was still a good amount of cuteness and charm mixed in. I can’t wait for more from this author!
Please keep breaking my heart!!!
Don’t you just love it when you’re favorite author and rock star go out of their way to break your heart?
I’m so chocked up, I had to stop reading just to come here and complain.
First of all, the baby rocker tweep is all grown up and in the most exquisite way. Despite the fame and the groupies he’s not totally ruined.
Then he falls head over heels in love with someone else and not me.
I’m gutted, overwhelmed, confused, messed up and feeling all sorts of things, but most of all I’m in love. The cuteness overload is making my head spin and I’m swooning so hard I can’t describe it. Wow, just wow this rocker is everything you ever would want in a husband. Even his anger is a turn on.
Of course I don’t handle it well, and being all kind of crazy stalker bitch I will unleash my fury till I get my way with him.
(Don’t mind me ruining his love life, future or anything.)
Sorry for being so difficult. I’m regretful and taking it all back. Mic is a mess but in all honesty she’s the perfect woman for our boy. I love her being so hard working and badass, making grown men cry. Totally organized at work and so messy at home.
She’s not easily swayed but when she finally gets around to it she’s making me cry all the happy tears of the world. I’m a goner and will lay in bed wailing till the next book arrives.
I struggled with this book. Not because of the writing as I am a big fan of the author but because it has a couple of my least favorite tropes. I love rock stars and drunken Vegas weddings. I don’t, however, like the younger man older woman age gap. I don’t like age gaps. Period. And I rarely read a surprise baby “romance”. But I read it and, naturally, Julia Wolf made work. I loved getting to visit with the gang of the characters from the previous books in the series. I liked the tough heroine Michaela and I liked Moses, too. They had chemistry as long as I kept my mind off their ages. Regardless of my idiosyncrasies, it was a good book and I am more than willing to recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good rock star romance with a wonderful HEA. I’m going to give this one 3.5 stars. Read it!
Beautifully written. It was wonderful to see another side of Mo we got glimpses of him in previous books and there is so much more to him than I realized. Lovely book. Highly recommend.
I alternated between wanting to strangle Mo and give him a hug. He’s such a good guy, occasionally misunderstood, but good guy! I was so excited to finally get Mo’s book and it did not disappoint.
“Tell me a truth….”
Ahhhh….!!!! I feel like I just got off a major rollercoaster ride with Mo and Michaela’s story. Up and down went my emotions. I had to stop multiple times to gather my thoughts and calm my racing heart. The chemistry these two have were amazing. They are imperfectly perfect for each other. I never wanted their story to end!
Another winner from Julia Wolf… I can not get enough of her perfectly imperfect characters and worlds that she creates. I love the angst and slow burn that she puts you through as you watch Mo and Mikaela slowly find themselves and each other. I can say that this book is probably one of my favorites from this author and I can not get enough of this world.
We’ve met Mo before now and finally….he gets his story!! Thank you JW!! And boy did she deliver. Rock Star Romance= check; Surprise pregnancy =check and older woman/younger man= check. I absolutely adored Mo and Michaela together.
Misconception is book 2 in Julia Wolf’s Unrequited series! It follows Mo Aronson whom we met way back in Julia’s book Times Like These. You remember little Mo? Always hitting on Dalia? Well Mo is all grown up and life is about to take hold!
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? Unless you’re Mo and Michaela. In that case your decisions are going to lead to a few bumps in the road
Mo deserved an epic tale and Misconception delivers. Michaela is the perfect heroine for Mo. Their chemistry sizzles early on and you can’t help but fall in love with them. You’ll laugh, blush and maybe even tear up. You may toss your Kindle across the room But the ride that is misconception is wonderful and satisfying. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Murray!
There’s just something so special about Julia Wolf’s characters. Particularly her heroes. Each is so unique and they’re all so perfectly flawed making them real and bringing them to life in a way I can’t even begin to describe. When you combine that with romance that is like no other it makes for a book that will keep you up all night unable to put it down.
And I truly mean that. I did not put this book down one single time once I started reading it. Michaela and Mo were so captivating, their story so gripping, so emotional there was absolutely no way I was going to stop until there were no pages left. Mo was everything. Real, perfectly imperfect, sensitive, so loving, and utterly devoted to Michaela. Their story is one that will grab your heart and never let it go.
This is another amazing read by Julia that will set your emotions in overdrive. I’ve loved Mo for what feels like forever and couldn’t wait for his story. Mo and Michaela start their romance unconventionally and while fires ignite, you just cannot escape true love. From the characters to the storyline you cannot help but fall in love with everything in this book. Another must read and I cannot wait to see what she writes next.
Misconception is an apt title for this book as the main characters have to get past their misconceptions about each other as they deal with their “misconception”. I couldn’t wait for Mo’s story and it exceeded expectations. Michaela and Mo seem like an unlikely pair but they both have hidden depths that are revealed throughout the book. I loved the development of their relationship, the humor and the heartache. Although this book can be read as a stand-alone, I would highly recommend reading the Blue is the Color series as well the Never Blue duet and Unrequited. Mo and Michaela appear throughout, which makes this book even more fun to read, plus they are all really good too!
