MISADVENTURES ARE STANDALONE ROMANCES THAT CAN BE READ IN ANY ORDERWinning has always come naturally for stud ice hockey defenseman Gus “the Bus” Persson. On the ice or off, he’s never had any trouble scoring, racking up goals—and girls. As the best player in his rookie class and the number-one draft pick of the Malibu Suns, he’s taking his game to the next level and is justifiably full of … level and is justifiably full of swagger.
So why does one of the Suns’ ice girls treat him like he’s invisible?
Bo St. James doesn’t have time for rookie hotshots who think their gloves don’t stink. She knows them, she works with them, she trains them. It doesn’t matter that Gus Persson is the hottest newbie she’s ever seen. She knows his type. She’s got big plans of her own, and she’s not going to let some cocky rich kid athlete keep her from her goals.
But there’s a chemistry between them they cannot deny. A lust that burns so hot, it threatens to melt the very ice on which they make their livings. The game has changed for both of them. Together, can these two play to win?

So reading the title, to me was a little misleading. Frankly I think it should have been titled something else in the form of a hilarious name due to a certain hilarious scene in the book . PS. Unicorn Spit is allllll the rage! *wink*
Anyways, Two characters, Bo and Gus. They have a weird way to start a relationship, but really don’t some of the best loves happen that way? Toni’s ability to combine comedy and reality is rather impressive from a reader standpoint because you get so engrossed in the story-line and feel like you are part of these characters. You simply cannot assume about the characters, like they did to one another in the book, because reality does not like assumptions.
So don’t be like me and assume the title will be an oddly weird story (Because honestly that is exactly my thought when i was told I would be reading this ARC of this story) It turned out to be a GREAT love story that starts off in the hate-love kind of way and the comedic relief were placed just right throughout the story that it came together so smoothly. but seriously, please enjoy the unicorn spit because I need to find this stuff right NOW!
thank you Toni Aleo, for giving your readers yet another story to latch onto and lose themselves in the well developed characters and plot line!
What is there not to love about this book?!
Bocephus Jane…the “She devil!” Her name alone makes me laugh but I LOVE IT!!! She’s every bit of spit and fire! Bo is sassy, funny and honestly one of my most favorite in any of Toni’s books…and that’s hard with all the ladies she has introduced us to, because I love each of them!
Bo is a tough nut to crack, but once you know her and what is holding her back, you just can’t help but root for her and that she can let go of her past and she just may get that chance with Gus the Bus!
Gus the Bus Perrson is on a whole other level! Funny as all get out and he does not take “No” for an answer. His constant joking and ohhh goodness, his love of dogs just gets you in all the feels.
Gus is a “live in the moment” type of guy and when he lays eyes on Bo, he’s not going down without a fight. What Gus wants, Gus gets!
Get ready for a heck of a ride with Bo and Gus!!!

Toni Aleo’s books never cease to amaze me! Misadventures of a Rookie had me hooked from start to finish! Gus “The Bus” Persson was drafted by the NHL’s Twin Cities Tornados, but first has to spend some time playing on their AHL team the Malibu Suns. This is where he meets the fiery ice girl, Bo St. James. Burned by a past relationship, Bo wants absolutely nothing to do with Gus. All she wants to do is finish school and start her career.
Gus is sweet and understanding, but he also is driven and goes after what he wants. Bo is sassy and has a “take no crap” attitude but is also very gun shy about relationships. These two are drawn together for an incredible journey filled with some awkward, some cringe worthy, and some down right hilarious moments.
This is an amazing book that I highly recommend reading. Once you start, you won’t want to put it down until your finished!
