MISADVENTURES ARE STANDALONE ROMANCES THAT CAN BE READ IN ANY ORDERZandy Lynch never planned on going to grad school a virgin. So when her professor father finds her a job abroad as a research assistant the summer before she starts her master’s program, she sees her chance. She’s got one night in London to lose her V-card to a Mr. Darcy lookalike before she has to join some ancient professor in … has to join some ancient professor in the country.
Oliver Graeme is not looking forward to having some American co-ed hovering around while he’s trying to work, but he owes her father the favor, and besides, his office is an untidy mess of uncatalogued research. He needs the help. Still, he decides to take the edge off his frustration while visiting a colleague in London, and winds up having the sexiest, sweetest night of his life with a stranger, who vanishes in the morning without a trace…
To Zandy’s shock when she arrives at Professor Graeme’s house a day later, the door isn’t opened by a fussy old scholar, but by the wild, passionate man she met in London. Cold and reserved by day, Oliver is ferociously greedy with her at night, and it’s not long before Zandy finds herself falling for both versions of him―the aloof professor and the generous, rough lover. The trouble is that summer only lasts so long, and Zandy already has a plane ticket waiting to take her home…

Taboo and oh so naughty Misadventures with a Professor is the perfect hot story to kick off the cool fall days. Sierra Simone is a master at….word play and fills the pages with one girls adventure with an older more experienced man. If only the professors were this interesting when I was in college because DAMN!!!!! Oliver makes me want to go back and get schooled. Misadventures with a Professor is a quick, thigh quivering read that will leave you wanting more. Easily worth 5-stars as all of Simone’s stories are.
Zandy Lynch has the chance to spend the summer in England helping a professor catalog his research material. Other than the educational experience before she starts grad school, Zandy is looking for another kind of experience, she is determined to lose her virginity on the one night she gets to be in London before reporting to the professor. Zandy meets a man that is handsome and introduces her to things she never knew were possible for her to like. Oliver Grameme has become a recluse since his heart was broken three years ago, but when he comes across an innocent looking girl wanting to experience a wild night with a stranger he truly tries to resist her bold proposition. Oliver is only a man and if the girl is determined to learn then the Professor has an obligation to teach her what he knows.
So I was intrigued Misadventures with a Professor since I met Sierra Simone last year. And so after reading it I can definitely say that there is no return for me from the dark side. I am amazed how Sierra comes up with her characters and their stories.
So the way Zandy met her Professor and their chemistry was worth the wait and all the antsy feelings that I felt during the entire time. Thank you Sierra for writing wonderful characters and stories.
Loved this story. I started it and didn’t put my kindle down until I’d finished it.
Zandy is in England and determined to lose her virginity on the one night she has in London before going to her father’s friend’s home in the country. Professor Graeme sounds like an old stuffy gentleman and given she’ll be stuck with him, she’s not taking her pesky virginity with her.
In pouring rain, on her way to a place she thinks she’ll hook up, she runs into Oliver. Literally. Once he learns what she plans on doing, he does everything to stop her, even when he becomes her target of choice. Staying as it turns out, in the same hotel, finally he can’t deny his desire for her any longer and after a night together, he wakes to find her gone.
Thinking that they’ll never see one another again, Zandy heads to Professor Graeme’s place and has a few days there alone before he shows up. Imagine her surprise when Professor Graeme turns out to be Oliver.
Because of his past, he’s determined not to get involved with her, but she’s just too much of a temptation.
Loved this story and the development of the relationship between Zandy and Oliver. Proof I guess, that sometimes we just need to take a risk in life and trust what we think we’ve found.
Is it terrible that the accent made this book? lol. I know I’m an accent whore, but Oliver’s accent totally worked for me. Misadventures with a Professor is a combination of tropes that work together to make a diverting misadventure.
*****SPANKALICIOUS!*****
Oliver is a broody professor, hiding behind his scars until he meets Zandy. All he wants is to be accepted for who he is, kinks and all. Instead, he is made to feel like a degenerate.
“I want you any way you’ll let me have you. Even without the games.” Oliver’s vulnerability bleeds over and over. His self-hate just breaks my heart. A chance encounter with Zandy rekindles the kinky flames. Her innocence fuels his suppressed sexiness, and Professor Graeme comes out to play again. He’s filthy and dominant.
Sierra Simone specializes in writing unforgettable, broken heroes.
This book, people, is a sexy nerd’s taboo treat. It has all the doctor’s prescribed spanky goodness. The Professor wants you to embrace your kinkiness.
It was fantastic, loved Oliver, he is the perfect kinky guy, the scenes were sooo hot, it was nothing like I imagined it would be, it was definitely so much better, I was expecting the standard girl falls in love with her teacher, but this was so much more, Sierra tossed it out of the ball park to give us a sweet, sexy, kinky story!!
Amanda “Zandy” Lynch is a 22 yr old college student. She can’t believe that she still has her virginity at 22. So when her professor father finds her a job abroad as a research assistant the summer before she starts her master’s program, she sees her chance. She’s in London, England for 1 night, and wants to be deflowered by a stranger.
Oliver Graeme is in London for a conference. One night he’s out walking and Zandy runs right into him. It’s raining as it often is in London, and she has no coat on, no shoe’s on. Oliver asks her what she is doing, and that’s when Zandy opens up to a perfect stranger she’s trying to make it over to some club so she can hook up with someone. Oliver thinks he’s being the perfect gentleman when he offers to walk her back to her hotel, and then they find out they are both staying at the same hotel. Zandy doesn’t want to be the good girl, and do what she’s told. Then she offers herself to Oliver to help her relieve herself of this virginity burden. Oliver can’t believe her candor. Once they get back to the hotel the hands are all over each other. Oliver at first is very hesitant with doing anything with Zandy, but her mouth is just to inviting.
Oliver wakes up and realizes Zandy is gone. He thinks he is now rid of her. He goes back to his house a few days later, only to have a young lady in his house bent over in short shorts, exposing herself to him, and not actually realizing that she is doing that. To Zandy’s shock a day later, the door isn’t opened by a fussy old scholar, but by the wild, passionate man she met in London.
It’s not long before Zandy finds herself falling for both versions of him—the aloof professor and the generous, rough lover. Will Oliver be able to give in and have Zandy to himself? Or will his grumpy demeanor turn her off?
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving a honest review.
This book was OK. I can’t say that it was my favorite work by this author or the best of this series but it wasn’t a bad read.
There were some very specific plot points that are clique and overdone as far as I’m concerned. However, I think the one thing that put me off of this book was the heroine jumping to conclusions constantly. Maybe it was something that spoke to her age but it was a bit of a turn off for me.
The steamy scenes were good and distracting enough to get through the parts I was bothered by most.
Zandy is a college student. Her professor father got her a summer job with a professor. Oliver is broody, dark and alpha to the core. The two meet in London and end up having a one night stand. Zandy never expects Oliver to answer the door when she goes to meet her professor for the summer. This was a steamy read that I enjoyed and recommend.
A Gorgeously Written Variation of a Familiar Beloved Romantic Trope
“Good God, I’ve become my own Victorian morality narrative.” – Professor Graeme
I have so many ideas to share with you about this extraordinarily well-written story. One that you may think you can basically guess at the plot line. After all, the Dominant professor/naughty student trope is not an unfamiliar one to romance lovers especially lovers of the earthier, spicier…dare I say… kinkier shades of romance. I can even imagine that lovers of mostly sweeter romance can be a wee bit tempted by a spanking from the uber hot, large and in charge Dominant professor especially if followed by the passionate intimate caresses that allow the sting to transform to delight. Ah but I digress…
Before I get into the delights of the hero in this entertaining, surprisingly complex tale, I have to say I just loved this heroine. She is a young woman who understands her uniqueness and desire to accomplish and be accomplished academically. She has suffered socially because of this desire, and also the lack of interest in the more mundane pursuits of her contemporaries. She finds herself in London for a night. Prior to this night, she meticulously researched and planned her deflowering. She simply decided the time has come for her to lose her virginity.
She is both innocent and educated, careless and meticulous at the same time. She has no idea of her allure. She challenges our hero with her frankness and her unconscious beauty. She is at all times strong. She may make the wrong assumptions or be naïve but she is ever strong and unwavering in preserving her own worth…even though she is the submissive student in the naughty games the “Professor” likes to play with her. Thank you, Ms. Simone, for writing this enchanting heroine.
The hero in this tale is quite something else. Of course, he is unquestionably hot. He has all the attributes that make romance readers dream and dream and fantasize and dream. For me, the sexiest thing about him is that he is a dirty talker. Who can resist a dirty talker… a man who can cast a spell making his naughty demands?
This author has a remarkable facility with language and she is a master crafter of narrative. This story simply flows. It is nuanced and there are complex themes underlying the character development driving the plot line. The story is written with charm, wit and even some tongue-in-cheek humor. It is both novel in its theme and timeless in its truths… an upending of Victorian morality or any needlessly judgmental morality code, really, that does not serve to preserve one’s joy and protect the dignity of all persons.
I suppose you get the idea by now that I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I read it one sitting. I was enchanted!
I highly recommend this to all who love a well-written, feverishly hot romance. Now, be good for teacher and go get this, read, and be delighted!
I forget in between her books just how talented Sierra Simone really is. This book is a perfect example of a seemingly simple storyline that gave me so much more than I was expecting.
It’s beautifully written with language and imagery that made me feel like I was in the cottage by the river too. I have a serious girl crush on Zandy – the smart, sweet virgin scholar and Oliver, well Oliver is just about everything I love in a book boyfriend rolled into one. The filth level is perfect and the emotions are raw and felt so very real. I laughed a lot in this one, I also got a little teary at points – for both characters & the moments they didn’t realise their true worth. I cannot recommend this book enough. It’s a deliciously delightful novella.
I’ve come to love the Misadventures series so much and one of my favorite things about the series is that I’m introduced to so many new authors. This book was a sexy, flirty read! It was a lot of fun and I love the story of the student and her professor.
Deliciously dirty with a fantastic balance of sweet. A fun read that has all the feels!
One wet night lost on the streets of London. On crashing encounter with a smoking hot but surly Brit. And one plan to lose the v-card creates a firey combustion between tow strangers.
Zandy only has the Summer in England and will be working for a stuffy Professor friend of her father so she only had one night to rid herself of her Virgin status.
What she does not count on is that surly Brit with the kinky side would be her temporary boss. Oliver never imagined the girl who occupies his every thought while on his trip home to be the very girl his friend sent to help with his research.
The chemistry is explosive. Oliver’s fight to keep her at arm’s length is impossible. And the fight for her to get him to accept himself and them is insurmountable.
I love the passions they share and the build-up to who they become. This was such a fun read and I love the characters and they work their way through every problem. Precisely, analytically and lovingly.
Sierra Simone is one of my favorites. She has this uncanny knack for writing beyond sexy scenes within storylines with depth and thought provoking dialogue. Misadventures with a Professor is no exception! This book was somewhat lighter than others she has written, although there was still just enough angst and self reflection between the characters to add the right amount of drama. I loved revisiting the Markham family name! Sigh. Overall, great characters, engaging plot, and another 5 Star read from Sierra!
Wow, this book was hot from the beginning. Zandy, met Oliver while she was spending one night alone in London. Well, after meeting Oliver while wet and bedraggled on the street, she didn’t have to spend that night alone after all.
Each of these Misadventures books have been riveting and easy to read. I recommend them to anyone who enjoys a steamy book with limited time to read. You’ll not be sorry.
Sweet and spicy with a side of kink! The grumpy, extremely naughty professor and the tempting, smart virgin are sizzling with the sexy. The poor professor is haunted by an old affair that leaves him with doubts and shame but sweet Zandy sets out to change his mind and upend his life as he knows it. Oh, the delicious dirty games these two play will set you on fire. Hot! The professor introduces Zandy to his darker side of sex and she is so trainable. This is an excellent older professor/innocence student assistant story with terrific writing and superb characters. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
I’ve become an unapologetic Sierra Simone in the last couple years. She slayed me with Priest and Sinner, and gave me all the freaking feels with the New Camelot trilogy. Since she announced she was writing a book in the Misadventures series, I’ve been looking forward to it. That series is chock full of short, fun and sexy reads and I can’t get enough of it. I was thrilled to get an early look at Misadventures with a Professor and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Zandy and Oliver were great. I liked them and their story so much I seriously wished this was a longer book. As it was, I devoured it in no time. Zandy was so naive and innocent, but not in an obnoxious way. Oliver was super refined and buttoned up, until he was in the bedroom. They were perfect together, with their sizzling chemistry and hot AF sexy times. I have to admit, BDSM isn’t one of my go-tos but I’ll make an exception every single time when it comes to Sierra’s books. It’s not my kink, but it’s still fun to read. Misadventures with a Professor didn’t pummel my feels or anything, but it did have some unexpectedly sweet and heartfelt moments. I was in it with both Zandy and Oliver and I just loved how things progressed between them.
If you enjoy deliciously sexy bite-sized romance novels and you’ve not yet read any of the Misadventures stories, you’re missing out. They’re the perfect quick read — or listen! Misadventures with a Professor should be near the top of your Misadventures TBR. It’s one of my favorites so far. Not that I’m even a little bit surprised. It was the perfect combination of hot and sweet, with Sierra’s gorgeous and thoughtful writing.
Favorite Quotes:
“My body is my own to be careless with.”
“Not tonight, it isn’t,” he whispers. “Tonight it’s mine.”
“I don’t think kinky professors get to have babies and wives.”
Full of dirty sexy times this was just one book I couldn’t get in to. While I know that it is a story of fiction, I felt that the story was so out of realm of possibility that I just couldn’t wrap my head around it and felt there was nothing that was keeping me invested in this story.
If you give this one a go, I hope that you find enjoyment and escape within!
As Always, Happy Reading!
“2/5 Beaming Brains!” – Lit-Up My Mind
Gahhh this book! I went from happy to pissed and right back to happy within the matter of minutes. To say this book pulled so many emotions from me would be a damn understatement, ugh!
Seeing a new release from Sierra Simone is a must read for me. This author has a way of hooking you in so deep that you forget everything and everyone around you until the last page and you suddenly realise it’s almost 1am and the whole day has flew past. That’s exactly the reason I’m writing this review at almost 1am in the morning. This book captivated me, there’s something extremely sexy about a professor and his student. It’s hot, sexy and just wow.
Zandy and Oliver are something special that’s for sure. She’s a young woman set out to do something she had planned and won’t stop until the deed is done and that’s how she happens to stumble upon the handsome man names Oliver. He’s sharp, cutoff and wants to be alone. After being hurt all Oliver wants to do is be alone and get stuck in to his work but that’s all about to change when the hot mess that is Amanda crashed into him.
And what a whirlwind of a story this was.
I just need to say that I hated how much of a pushover she was for him. He was an asshole to her, just because of how he felt and that just pissed me off that she LET him treat her like that and then forgets everything he did as soon as the possibility of him touching her comes around. UGH but even though that annoyed me them together also gave me heart eyes, I swear. I was so confused with all the feeling I had and I absolutely love that. I love when a book makes me feel all the feels.
There’s something so insanely hot about role play in books especially a professor/student role play. Bent over a desk whilst your professor goes at you, yes please *sighs* The sex, the intimacy is so incredibly thorough that it leaves YOU needing to rub one out or needing a cold shower, it’s just that fucking hot.
Sierra Simone did an incredible job with this book, seriously incredible. I’m in awe of the book, I’m a huge fan of the Misadventures books and this one of definitely one of my top favourites.
