Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.

I gotta say… I loved this book. Even though it was pretty much what I was expecting, I still wasn’t disappointed. One thing I know about this author is that she knows how to entertain you throughout the story. You may even know where the story is heading, but she always does fun things to make you enjoy the ride. (I won’t reveal. You have to discover yourself.)
After Vera’s ex husband hooked up with the nanny and left her with three angry boys to manage along with putting her own life back together, she had to hire a manny. Her boys had successfully run off the five precious nannies. Lincoln was a last resort. He was her brother- in-law’s best friend and he was supposed to be the best.
The boys are super sweet and both Vera and Lincoln have unique relationships with them. The way Vera says I love you to the boys with three hand squeezes is super sweet. Vera had to discover her own self-worth and Lincoln had to find a way to see he was ready to have his own family. Little did they know those roads would lead to each other.
Yes! I have read a few books from this amazing author but she keeps on blowing me away with her storytelling. I have been waiting for this book ever since I seen the cover and it is well worth the wait. This is book fourteen in this epic series Misadventure. You can read this book as a stand alone. You don’t have to read them in order. These two characters drew me in right from the beginning. You can’t help but to fall in love with them. I could not put this book down. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible story.
Vera Woods is going through a nasty divorce. She loves her job and she knows that she works a lot but she has kids to feed. Now she has to watch her step due to her horrible ex husband. Vera is about to give up but her sister saves her. She is then introduced to a handsome man that watches kids. Lincoln is a Manny. Vera feels chemistry right away for Lincoln. She knows that this should be strictly business but could it also be for pleasure?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, heat, humor, and healing. You will fall in love with these characters right from the start. Vera is a beautiful strong mother that wants the best for her boys. She wants to find the love that she should have had. Lincoln is a very handsome and good guy. He cares for everyone he is close to. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your toes curl. This is the perfect edition to this series. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.
This was such a good misadventure! We meet Lincoln who is a manny for families. Vera who is a newly single and divorced woman. I really loved how lovable Lincoln was with and with family. I had moments when I really wanted to give a certain character a piece of my mind but didn’t. Well cause one they cant here me and two that’s just weird Vera and her boys were adorable.. oh and Riana you need get laid
This book was awesome. Vera has such a dirty mind and it left me both laughing and excited. Lincoln’s character is hot and lovable. Vera and Lincoln’s chemistry is hot and leaves you craving more. Such a good story that has you hooked from the beginning. Highly Recommended.
Though I have not yet read all the of Misadventures books, those I have read, I have loved. So when I heard Toni Aleo was adding another book to the series, I jumped at the chance to read it. And I have to say, I loved Misadventures with a Manny so much. It was a funny and sweet read for sure!
Vera Woods is at a lost. After her husband ran off with the nanny and her kids have gone through several other nannies, she has no idea what to do. Lincoln Scott knows what it means be thrown into crazy family scenarios. He has been a manny for a while now and loves his job. But when he finds himself without a job, could Vera and Lincoln find way more they either ever bargained for?
I loved seeing a strong woman. Vera loves her boys and her work. She just needed a bit of help to balance it all. Enter Lincoln. Her boys were great, but they were boys and Lincoln was amazing with them. Though both tried to keep things professional, the sparks flew when they were together. Could Vera learn to trust again and open her heart to another man?
I absolutely loved the characters in Misadventures with a Manny by Toni Aloe. Vera, Lincoln and her boys were captivating and amusing. This slow burn romance was sweet, funny and a great read!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Vera wanted a nanny not a “manny” but she’s to the point she’s willing to give it a try. What could go wrong? From the moment they laid eyes on each other you could feel the attraction between these two. They couldn’t do anything about it though right? I mean, he was the manny after all.
I loved that this book was a slow burn, that the chemistry and attraction just kept getting hotter and hotter. Will Lincoln be able to show Vera what they could have is worth the risk of trying for a relationship? He loves her boys and they love him and he’s everything that she should have had the first time she fell in love instead of the douche she married. Will she be able to get over that he’s the manny to her kids?
I just can’t get enough of the books in the Misadventures series and Toni did a stellar job with this one. I absolutely fell in love with all the characters (well except the ex obviously). My heart not only warmed at the relationship that grew between Simon and the kids but the relationship between Simon and Vera. Vera is a stand-up lady and great parent, always taking the high road and not bad mouthing in front of her kids. This book is something that is realistic and could very well happen and it made it all the more addicting to me.
Simon and Vera have undeniable chemistry but both try their hardest to not follow through with it. Vera doesn’t want to jeopardize his role in her kids life and he made a promise to his best friend not to go there but sometimes you just can’t fight fate. These two were meant for each other but there are hurdles if they were ever to find their happy ending, from the nasty ex, her insecurities, a job offer, and of course the broken promise.
Another MUST read book in the Misadventures series. You will find it hard to find one that isn’t and Toni knocked it out of the park with this one. I was hooked and completely engrossed into Vera and Simon’s story.
From the few books that I’ve read from the Misadventures series, this one is my absolute favorite! I was completely hooked from beginning to the end, from the characters and the storyline, it was everything that I was hoping for and more. I was raging from what Vera’s ex-husband and ex-best friend did to her and their kids to complete and utter hope for Vera to find her happy ever after again with Lincoln.
Toni totally hit it out of the park with Misadventures with a Manny! I read it all in one-sitting and was just so sad when this beautiful story was over. I’ve been in a reading slump for a while and this definitely helped me get out of it.
I felt absolutely horrible for what Vera had to go through with her trash of an ex-husband, she didn’t deserve any of that at all. And it was just so heartbreaking to see her go through that and keep a strong face for her kids. However, I’m all about signs and things happening for a reason. And one of the next best things to happen in her life was Lincoln entering it. You will not love a hero more than with Lincoln, swooping into Vera’s life at just the right time. Helping out with her kids and just being a male figure in their lives.
I was curious to see how long it would take for things to unfold between them because they fought it for a lot longer than I anticpated them to. The attraction was instant from when they first set eyes on each other. But I totally understand they didn’t want to cross that line because employee/employer.
As Lincoln fights his feelings for his boss, we get to see his vulnerable side. He opens up about what he wants with his future, marriage and kids. He wants all of that, so there’s something holding him back from pursuing Vera because would she even want that, when she already had it? Ahhh, Lincoln is just pure perfection! He’s amazing with the kids and doesn’t hold back when he needs to be stern with them. And I love how he constantly tells Vera that she’s worth so much and more.
I hated every scene with Vera’s ex, he was just downright horrible to her and it made one to seek some violent tendencies towards him. And I thought Vera did a great job trying to be as civil as possible to him even when she was the one that hurt the most from his mistakes. She’s an unbelievably strong woman and such an amazing mother! I loved her character so much and there were so many times when I wanted to reach into the pages and hug her!
Everything about this book was beautiful and I just loved it so much, everyone needs to read this!
Toni Aleo
This book was absolutely everything!!! I adored this couple. Lincoln was sweet and a complete heartthrob. Vera was a strong heroine but in need of love. She found just that in Linc. The storyline really flowed from beginning to end and was steamy as a sauna. You won’t go wrong with this manny!!
**I received an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
Misadventures with a Manny had everything you want in a great romance novel! It had a great couple, sweet moments, steamy moments and excellent secondary characters as well. I enjoyed this story from start to finish!
Vera Woods has been going through a rough time and a lot of change. She has a beyond horrible ex-husband who continues to give her grief about just about everything even though he’s the one that cheated. She is doing her best to raise her three teenage boys, but understandably, they are angry about the demise of their parents marriage and it isn’t helping that Vera has to work more just to make ends meet. The nanny’s that she’s hired are pretty much like a revolving door, they just can’t find one that clicks with the boys.
Lincoln Scott is not only the best friend of Vera’s brother-in-law, but he is one of the best nanny’s around. He’s very loyal and loves to start working for a family when the children are small and follow them through until they no longer need his services. The family he’s been with for years unexpectedly relocates, which leaves him without a steady job. While he’s looking, he learns of Vera’s plight from her sister and while it’s not his ideal situation, he wants to help her out. He not only wants to help she and the boys because they need it, he’s also completely intrigued by the woman Vera is.
As Lincoln starts working for the family, the boys get into a rhythm and begin to come out of their anger little by little. The other thing that happens is the development of the undeniable chemistry between Lincoln and Vera. While both of them are fighting it for different reasons, the question becomes will they be able to deny what is obviously sparking between them?
I really liked the role reversal in this story. You normally see the struggling father who needs to be assisted by the female nanny, so it was so refreshing to have the story told from this perspective. I loved the vibe between Lincoln and Vera. They were both strong individuals and while they both battled their own issues, in the end, they were stronger as a team. I also really thought that Toni Aleo did a great job capturing how the boys would have reacted with regard to their emotions and feelings following the divorce and all of the changes that happened in their lives.
This was a great story and you should definitely do yourself a favor and pick up a copy!

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this one, but it wasn’t my favourite. I don’t think I really connected with either of the main characters. That said though, there are alot of great things about this story. Liam for one. The three squeezes and Vera’s bond with her kids for another.
I really disliked Simon. You’ll understand why when you read this one. Vera is in a situation where she is trying her best, but its been a really long time since she’s enjoyed something for herself, and that’s where Liam comes in.
His bond and ease with children, particularly Vera’s kids is great. He’s a really sweet character and great male lead in this book. I also thought the ending was very fitting and quite cute for these two.
This was a hilarious, funny, and complicated book. Vera husband is leaving her and their three boys for the kid’s nanny. Unhappy with the situation, Vera’s boys are running off all the nannies she hired. Her sister wants to help but she is pregnant and doesn’t have the energy. Unknown to Vera, her sister’s husband knows someone who could be the nanny. When I found who was the nanny I laughed out loud because it’s a guy. Lincoln, the best friend of her brother in law, agrees to becomes Vera’s nanny but he’s called a manny….lol. Vera can’t believe she finds herself attractive to Lincoln because he so different than her ex-husband. This was a unique subject from the authors other books I have read. I really enjoyed this cute Misadventures book because I think I laughed just about all through the book.
OOOOOH did I love this BOOK! Toni Aleo has been added to a my top authors. I adored everything about this book.
Lincoln and Vera are just perfect! Characters written so perfectly for one another. Vera is a freshly divorced woman after her ex husband left her for well (Read the book).
I swallowed this book is 7 hours. I couldn’t put it down. When I finished this book I squealed and wanted more of Lincoln and Vera. We we’re introduced to Vera’s sister and her husband in this story. Maybe Vera’s sister and brother-law will get their own Misadventure. I will keep saying it over and over again I LOVED THIS STORY. It was cute, sexy read.
*ARC provided for my honest review*
Great book! Loved all the emotions that it brought out in my while I was reading… Funny, sappy, happy, you name it, it was there.
Toni Aleo is just perfect with her words. This is the flip of the story that you would expect, working dad needs a nanny…. NOPE this is a workaholic mom that is in desperate need of a Manny to keep her boys in check. Wonderful!!!
Another great Misadventures book. This one is in my top 5 of the misadventures books. I will never look at a rubber duck the same way again after reading this story.
I loved these characters and want to first off saying that I would love to have more of these characters.
Vera is a great mom who is struggling to balance home life and work. Her 3 boys have ran on several nannys and she isn’t sure what to do. Her sister comes to the rescue with a manny. Vera’s ex is a douche bag cares more about making her miserable in any way possible.
Lincoln is the manny and he is great at his job. His last family moved and no longer needed him so he took on Vera’s family when he was needed. The biggest obstacle of this job is he is super attracted to his new job and the attraction isn’t one sided.
Will Lincoln be able to prove to Vera that all he wants is her and her kids. To show them that they deserve to be happy. Will Vera believe him and finally be happy or will Simon the douche bag ex ruin whatever happiness she could find with Lincoln?
Misadventures with a Manny by Toni Aleo is book 16 in the Misadventures series. This is the story of Lincoln and Vera.
This is a standalone book.
Vera is really strong women who tried to keep her family together even with a cheating husband but she is now free of him but not free of the impact he had on her self confidence. Vera’s boys are going through nannies until she thought to try a Manny. Lincoln is that Manny who has a way with her boys and her. Lincoln and Vera have sparks flying left and right making this a really hot read along with a funny emotional one too.
Loved it!
This book was everything. It has you laughing, it has you smiling, it has you feeling all the feels!
This book, seriously, was everything. From the moment you start reading you’re hooked. You have to know what happens with Vera and her boys, Charlie Elliott and Louis. Little did we know, the manny was going to happen. Enter Lincoln.
Oh my. Lincoln is exactly what this family needed. From his ability to interact with the boys and his ability to whoo Vera. He was perfect for them. It took just Vera a little longer to get on bored. There is so much sexual tension between the two, that I don’t blame her. I would have been unsure at first too!
I’m so glad that we were able to meet Vera, her boys and Lincoln. Why? Because it makes you love, love again.
Vera and Lincoln are finding some delightful adventures in babysitting! It’s almost so cliche that it’s laughable, but when Vera’s pounce of an husband decides to dip his wick into the family nanny it Vera’s world apart. Her kids are lost and hurt, she is pained and shamed, and he is belgerant and stupid. After her kids run off everyone she brings in to help lighten the load, she sister finally suggests she think outside the box for the candidate. He’s strong and caring, has a way with kids and knows his way around the household, now if only she could stop with the fantasizing. Lincoln feel in to Mannying and never looked back. There is something so rewarding and fulfilling about shaping and being apart of the families. When he joins the Woods clan he knows they need him to not only get them through this tough time, but also to find their new path. Now if he could just keep his little manny in check when it comes to his boss everything would be hunky-dory.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book
5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review
I LOVED Manny! I loved every single second of this book. I loved Lincoln and Vera. The connection between Vera and Lincoln was undeniable as well as off the charts. But doubt as to whether their relationship was ok, sometimes kept them from being together. There were times my heart broke for Vera. She just wanted love. There were also times I wished she would smack her ex upside the head.
Manny was everything I’ve come to love from Toni Aleo. It was funny, heart breaking, realistic, and romantic. I loved every second of it and you will as well. Please check it out.
When Vera’s husband runs off with the nanny leaving her as the primary caregiver for her three boys, she finds herself at her wits end . . . especially as they chase away nanny after nanny. Out of options, she turns to an unlikely solution – a manny!
Lincoln may have a degree in early childhood education, but he loves being a manny and staying with families long term as their children grow. But, when the family he has been with for the past six years moves to Germany, he finds unexpectedly himself out of a job and feeling lonely facing the realization f just how much he gives to other people and their families and how little he is left with.
When his best friend and his wife, who happens to be Vera’s brother in law and sister suggests he manny for them, it seems to be the perfect solution to both their problems. But, from the moment they set eyes on each other, their undeniable chemistry points to this being much more than a simple working relationship. As circumstances bring them closer together than expected, both Vera and Linc find themselves drawn together in very unprofessional ways . . .can it be they are just what the other needs or will taking that leap be the disaster predicted by the friends that brought them together in the first place?
I absolutely adored this book! I was expecting a light hearted rom com, but was thrilled to get so much more from this book!
Vera really tries to be everything for everybody. She works hard, she loves her boys more than anything and she refuses to bad mouth her ex no matter what a complete jerk he is. She’s never been appreciated by a man the way she deserves to be. Her self esteem is in the gutter and she’s just struggling.
Linc is an absolute sweetheart. He is caring and compassionate and quickly sees just how much Vera and her boys need him. He’s an amazing role model for the boys and helps ease all of Vera’s burdens, but he wants more. He finally feels ready to have a family of his own. And, he wants that with Vera.
Both Linc and Vera have some serious insecurity about their relationship with each other. But, they are so sweet and explosive together and just “fit” one another so dang well! I couldn’t wait for them to figure things out so they could have their happy ever after.
Misadventures with a Manny was really a great read with fabulous dialogue, sweet moments and smokin’ hot stolen moments. 5 stars!
