Straitlaced freshman Zooey Cartwright has arrived at UCLA determined to have a heck of a lot more fun in college than she did in high school. What’s the first item on Zooey’s agenda before classes start in two days? Losing her pesky V card. She’s definitely not looking for a boyfriend, so where can Zooey find the right guy to do the deed and move along without a backward glance? At a party thrown … thrown by a bunch of football players, of course. Enter Tyler Caldwell. A beast on the field and off, cocky as heck, and often wearing T-shirts with sayings like “God’s Gift to Womankind,” Tyler is most definitely not boyfriend material. After a make-out session with Tyler leaves Zooey entirely unsatisfied, she is determined never to see him again. But her schedule lands her in not one but two of his classes, and it doesn’t take long before Tyler and Zooey have reached an arrangement for Tyler to teach Zooey exactly what she wants to know – and a whole lot more she never bargained for. Can Zooey surrender her body to this bad boy without giving him her heart, too?

I read Misadventures On The Night Shift first and fell in love with Lauren Rowe. I just finished this book and LAUREN ROWE IS MY NEW FAVORITE AUTHOR!!!
I loved everything about this book. This story line was PERFECT! Just enough sexxiii time and a long detailed story. I love all things college football so this was a great book for me. Thank you for the Alabama mention! ROLL TIDE!!!!! This book was also full of pop culture. (Which I absolutely loved BTW) The thing I loved the most about this book was the music references: P.O.D, Pitbull, Marvin Gaye, Def Leppard! Thank God for Lauren’s AWESOME musical taste! All the songs fit perfectly where they were placed throughout the book!!!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU FOR THIS BOOK LAUREN! PLEASE WRITE MORE IN THE MISADVENTURES SERIES!!!! (I just orders Misadventures On The Rebound) BUT PLEASE WRITE MORE IN THIS SERIES!!!!!
*4,5 stars*
The author, Lauren Rowe, really has a way with words and somehow you just can’t get enough of her books! I definitely loved the chemistry between Zooey and Tyler. It was a funny, sexy lighthearted story that will leave you wanting more. I’d certainly recommend this one.
Zooey has never been with someone and now when she finally starts college, she wants to rectify that. One night she and her roommate go to a college party she most certainly is looking for someone to spend at that one-night who doesn’t want anymore than just that. When she meets football player Tyler, there’s this instant attraction between them but nothing goes as planned and maybe, just maybe, they’ll find something more than just the one-time …
Oh. My. Life!!! This book was SOOO GOOD!!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love Lauren and her writing with a passion, The Club series blew my socks off and is still at the top of my most favourite ever series reads, Captain slayed me completely, so yes I was expecting another magnificent trademark Lauren book, but this, this took me way by surprise in the best way possible – a story full of love, hope and dreams, with sweetness, fun, laughter and some hot sexy antics to boot!!
I was captivated from the first few pages, hooked and completely enthralled. The story just flowed, the chemistry between the characters oozed out of the pages, and the emotions had my heart ripping in two!
Tyler is DA BOMB!! (New t-shirt slogan?) I loved him and his self assured, cocky, arrogant and downright sexy ways. His ideas and his ideals really touched me. Zooey was everything I would want in a best friend – loving, loyal, trusting but full of sass and fire, striving for her dreams. They are hilariously funny together, lots of one liners and references to kids tv shows that had me crying with laughter. The songs they played each other were just perfect and really fit into the story.
When the sexy times got going, they really got going!!! PHEW!!! It was hot enough to melt the words right off the pages!! Jeez-Louise!!!!
Did I tell you how much I loved this book??!! Its has just a little bit of everything, that magic combination – its that elusive unicorn of a read, the one you know is out there just waiting for you to read, that pulls you in and won’t let go. Tyler and Zooey will stay with me for a long time to come, the emotions, the feels, the hand of fate all make this an unmissable read. Make this your next read, you’ll be so glad you did. Epic storytelling by the one and only Lauren Rowe.
This book was by far one of the best I have read. I lobed it. Zooey is a freshman in college and looking for her V card to be popped. She met a guy named Tyler and wanted to loose her V card to him. Which she did it was supposed to be a 5 week fling but turned into a true love story. They both fell in love hard and fast. Tyler was a football player who got into the NFL while Zooey went to theater. They stayed in contact but wasn’t technically together. One day years later Tyler was injured and out for the season. Zooey ran to his side and they fell back in love again and even harder. They ending up married with children. This was such a great story. It is a must read for sure. Lauren has out done herself with this one for sure.
I’ve read quite a few of the Misadventure books and every one has hit the spot and the mark, including this one, Misadventures of a College Girl! My first set of Misadventure books were read kind of like a binge … back to back to back, because I was ridiculously entertained then some time passed, and I picked up MCG and now I want to binge some more immediately!
Zooey and Tyler made me giddy. I was excited thru this entire story. Their banter alone was spectacular. They were kismet and so well written. It was just a lot of fun to read and be a part of their world. And Lauren Rowe does a fantastic job of pulling you into the story as if you were there. I wanted to be there. I wanted to be their friend …. I may just read it again … like maybe even this weekend! SO MUCH FUN!
This book is eight in the series, of standalone books. This book has a bunch of different emotions, frustration, happiness, heartbreak, nerve wracking anxiety and more. My anxiety towards the middle was horrible, you wonder if they end up together or if somehow the fate of this book turns a different way. I loved the ride of these characters. The characters are down to earth and sound like they could be your best friends. Zooey is from a different world than Tyler but both of them are so compatible. It is nice how the get along and evolve. There are funny parts in the story and its totally relatable.
This is becoming one of my favorite series, I have already purchased another book from it and I’ll start it soon. I recommend this book to anyone that wants a fast and easy read, that is a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the journey and can wait to read more from Lauren Rowe.
Btw listen to “Crash into me” while reading this book. You will figure out why but also its just a good song. It didn’t end the way I thought it was going to but it was a good ending none the less.
I love the whole Misadventure series but this one ranks up there with one of my favorites. I instantly fell in love with Zooey and Tyler and couldn’t read fast enough. I was sad to come to the end because the two are my favorite HEA couple and know they will stay with me like old friends. I found myself cheering Tyler and Zooey one minute and holding my breath the next as they face each obstacle. I Highly recommend this book!

The writer Lauren Rowe is new to me. But after reading the blurb, I decided to read the book and I’m glad that I did because it was an entertaining new adult read. I must confess that for me (personally) it was a bit getting used to the fact that this story was writing in Zooey’s POV only. The last few months all the books that I have read were writing from both POV’s. But it didn’t take me long to get used to it. And although I didn’t have Tyler’s POV, I still knew what he was feeling through his actions and words. And I loved that! I liked both characters, they didn’t play games, I loved their honesty with each other. One of the things that I really liked is the fact that the writer gave us an epilogue. I just love epilogues!
‘Misadventures of a college girl’ is a nice and pleasant read if you love new adult books.
Zooey and Tyler will have you in stitches, blushing like a schoolgirl, and reaching for the tissue. Zooey had a sheltered life living just her and her dad. She believes in fate and hopefully she has some grandmaster plans in store for her. At her first full fledged college party she is determined to put an end to her pesky virginity. Her new roomie suggests finding someone who won’t botch the job, a ladies man. So when a man when in with pretty pretty face and shirt that self proclaims him as player material strolls in, she believes she’s found her guy. Tyler Caldwell is cocky, handsome, and buying what she’s selling ~ that is until she’s dropped the truth bomb she’s packing a v-card still. Under his Casanova exterior beats the heart of a real Romeo and he’s determined get this Juliet!
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
One of my favorites so far… if your looking for a steamy, page turner you def. found it.
I was not prepared for how much I loved this book – it is by far my favorite in this awesome series of standalones thus far! From the references to Romeo and Juliet, to Zooey’s quirky candor, and Tyler’s unerring belief in himself and in her – this book was an absolute delight from beginning to end. It was insanely hot, with copious sex scenes that were hot and well-placed without being gratuitous, a fast-paced plot, plus the story made my cheeks hurt because of the permasmile it kept on my face through its entirety. Tyler was such a superior male lead; he had the perfect balance of machismo and sincerity. It was absolutely moving to see how he believed in Zooey and her talent, as well as his belief in their ability to influence the world for the better. It was just fantastic and I can’t wait to read more from Lauren Rowe as soon as possible. 5 out of 5 wine glasses.
College romance!?! Ms. Rowe I do NOT like college romance…
However apparently this author can do no wrong.
Zooey has a dream. The end goal performing on Broardway. She is accepted into UCLA and first thing on her agenda, loosing her virginity. Hopefully by a hot guy douchbag who knows what he is doing between the sheets.
Enter Tyler Caldwell. College football hero. The jock to beat all jocks.
Sparks ignite, sheets are burned all while unwanted feelings grow.
Touchdown, Lauren Rowe! Another brilliant storyline and as well executed as any Van Gogh you will ever encounter.
This forty year old fell in love with a college jock. I did NOT see that coming.
I gotta say, I’ve really been enjoying these Misadventures books. What a wonderful idea, and a great way to discover new-to-me authors, like Lauren Rowe! I love me some new adult romance, so Misadventures of a College Girl was nearly at the top of my Misadventures TBR. Once I saw it was available through my library on Hoopla, I made time to dive right in. It was a fun and sexy romp, and it was not without a bit of emotion, too.
If I’m being totally honest, when I started this book, I wasn’t sure it was going to work for me. Zooey was an odd mix of naive and promiscuous and Tyler appeared to be the type of arrogant, manwhore hero that doesn’t really work for me. But, it was a short audiobook and I was interested in seeing where the story went, so I kept listening. I’m really glad I did, too, because I was definitely pleasantly surprised by the story here.
Before it was all said and done, I’d seen another side of both Zooey and Tyler and I was shamelessly shipping them, hoping they could be something more than short-term friends with benefits. I’m not going to say much more about the story because of spoilers, but I just love how everything came together for them. And possibly even more, I loved how both characters grew throughout this novella. Their romance was super sweet, delivering the laughs I wanted, the sexy times I expected and a fair few feels, too.
Since I’m reviewing the audiobook, I should probably note that Lauren read it herself. I’ve always been a bit skeptical of authors reading their own books when said book is fiction, but it worked for me. I think she did a great job bringing the characters and story to life. Color me impressed.
Yet another great story from Lauren Rowe! Tyler is sweet, sexy and oh so charming. Zoe is the typical small town girl. What starts out as something simple turns into a loving romance. I have to admit, I was a little nervous for a few pages but I knew deep down they’d find their happily ever after. Fate may be a fickle bitch sometimes but you just gotta show her who’s boss!
Favorite Quotes:
If you really want to be traumatized, then consider this: Why the hell isn’t Pooh wearing pants? He’s a bear who lives in a house and sleeps in a bed. He drinks tea out of a cup. And yet he wears no pants with his polo shirt? I mean, is Pooh fully anthropomorphized or not? Because, if he is, then he’s a ‘public lewdness’ charge waiting to happen.
Gosh, when the universe works this hard to put two ridiculously good-looking people together, it’d be downright arrogant of them not to have sex, don’t you think?
I saw you two walking through South Campus the other day holding hands. You looked good together. Like Beauty and the… Beauty.
My Review:
Written from the first person POV of a virginal female college freshman, this delightfully entertaining book was a breezy, naughty, and fun read. This Misadventure was jam-packed with clever humor, salacious sizzle, enticing characters, and a sweet romance that wasn’t supposed to happen as it was not part of the project plan or on the syllabus. I adored the characters and thoroughly enjoyed Ms. Rowe’s witty, amusing, and engaging storylines. I fell hard and fast for this cute couple.
This is the football hero book I wish I’d written! 🙂
I really enjoyed this easy read by Lauren Rowe. It was a fun story that kept you wanting to know what happened next. There was some steamy romance but a real story line to go with it. I have just read a couple books by this author but I definately will be picking up more of her work. Recommend this book.
‘ve been a fan of Lauren Rowe since I was lucky enough to score a copy of The Club a few years ago, and with each book she releases I eagerly put my life on hold until I’m finished. And this book was no exception, I pretty much devoured it in one sitting.
The chemistry between Zooey and Tyler was electric right from the start, they really didn’t have any of the awkwardness between them (well, except for right after the party when Tyler is trying to convince Dimitri to get Zooey’s phone number). The deal they agree comes with an expiration date, but when the heart gets involved, the deal might be off the table. I liked that Zooey was comfortable enough to follow through with most of the syllabus Tyler created, and I was shocked that the story went the way it did as it got close to the end of the book. I wish we could have gotten an update on Clarissa and Dimitri, but I loved how the story wrapped up!
If I could give this more than 5 stars I would! I loved this story and even more I loved Tyler!!! I hate to cry with books but there were so many times I was choking down tears while reading this. I enjoyed the building relationship between Zooey and Tyler so much! I would love if Tyler’s teammates had their own books. I am so glad I read this story it is one of the best I have read in a long time.
