Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.

Talk about whirlwind romance & the healing powers of love.
I love reading about characters who seem realistic, living through a situation that could be, even if it’s far fetched.
Great book!
Misadventures of a City Girl was the first book I have read by Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss. It was a very enjoyable book.
This story follows Madison Atwood and Luke Dawson. Madison is freshly divorce and needing a mountain side retreat getaway. She decides that Avalon Springs is her perfect paradise. On her first day at the Springs, she goes to explore the property and finds a hot spring. Without her knowledge. Luke Dawson is watching her every move. Luke owns the property where the retreat and the spring are located. He also lives on the mountain away from society. When Madison stumbles up on Luke’s isolated cabin, things get heated. They can not keep their hands to themselves. Things get even more heated when a uncontrollable situation forces them together for several days.
When I think back to this book, I can only think of one thing that I could have done without. The scene in the woods when Madison gets confronted by the wolf was so unnecessary. I was really not expecting that and caught me way off guard. Other than that the book was AMAZING…..
The characters and plot were very realistic. Once I started it, I could not put it down. Madison and Luke are amazing together. This book is incredibly sexy!!! I absolutely can not wait to read the rest of the Misadventures books! Great Job Meredith & Chelle!!
Delightful, steamy, sweet, tender, funny read! I FLOVED it!! I read this in hours. Fantabulously enthralling.
Freshly done with her jerk of an ex-husband Hollywood actor Jeremy, makeup artist and stylist Madison Atwood has had enough of drinking champagne, eating Ben and Jerry’s by the pint, and crying her eyes out. Needing to get rid of the paparazzi and a fresh break from everything, Madison flees to Avalon Springs Spa Retreat in Northern California. But even THAT doesn’t help ease her stress or her tears. So when Madison finds a lone hot spring away from the property, she quickly and gladly immerses herself into it, allowing pure pleasure to sing from her body.
Mountain man Luke Dawson enjoys living away from society, and he considers his cabin and the surrounding acreage his sanctuary. But when he stumbles onto Madison enjoying herself in the spring, he can’t tear his eyes away from her. She may be a city girl distraction, but she is a beautiful one- and Luke thoroughly enjoys her company. When Madison discovers Luke watching, she takes off running.
Yet when Madison discovers Luke’s special cabin and asks for Luke to please her, there’s no way that Luke can turn away this beautiful woman again. No promises are made, and both desire each other’s touch. When a massive snowstorm has other plans, both Luke and Madison are forced to spend more than one night of unbridled passion with each other. Once the snow melts, can they say goodbye to each other? Or will their time together have them realize that Madison and Luke are perfectly made for one another?
A quick and really enjoyable read!
Misadventures of a City Girl was a quick and easy read that starts off the Misadventures series. Luke and Madison’s story was a whirlwind romance of two people from opposite worlds. Luke relishes in and prefers his solitude in the California mountains and Madison’s Hollywood style life in L.A. has her in the spotlight and tabloids. Now that she needs to get away to regroup while she heals from heartache, her time in North California offers her the seclusion she needs to give her life the reset she needs…but meeting a gorgeous mountain man was NOT in her plans and ended up being exactly what she needed to renew her confidence and strength needed for moving on.
Luke was such a great guy and I found myself felling a bit jealous of Madison at times. He was rugged and sexy and kind. And both characters share an instant and intense chemistry that just pushes them outside of their normal boundaries as they indulge in each other away from their every day lives. The relationship forms quickly, yet it in no way diminishes the strength of their feelings…their seclusion only allowed for them to get to know each other in ways being out in the everyday world would have distracted from. It also allowed them to get it on like bunnies. I’m just saying, they seriously got it on – a lot. *fans self*
This book captivated me from the moment I started and brought some serious heat to the pages. I’m a huge fan of Chelle Bliss and this is my first opportunity to read something by Meredith Wild and I think they did a wonderful job in writing this story so seamlessly that it’s hard to believe it was a collaborative effort. I loved it! I can’t wait to experience more misadventures from this series.
Luke and Maddie are great characters. He’s a recluse and she’s a city girl from LA. How far apart in the social realm are they? She’s seeking peace from her recent divorce while he’s coping the only way he knows how as a result of PTSD. However, they are more than that. They find being together, loving each other, is the best healing they could have asked for. Fun and sexy!
OMG!!! The perfect weekend getaway romance!
The relationship between Madison & Luke is off the charts SEXY! You could almost feel the chemistry between them.
Two of my top 10 Authors have come together and made something that was so hot I had to read it in one sitting. Amazing read ladies, well done!!!
This read a lot quicker than I expected but I really enjoyed it! I have to admit, being able to envision Brock O’Hurn as Luke may have added to the experience just a skotch. This is the first book I’ve read in the Misadventures series, and though they’re all standalones, it definitely set up the series as one not to be missed! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.
This was a very steamy and fast read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Two great romance writers coming together to write a sexy recluse mountain man who stumbles upon a city girl who needs an escape is everything you would hope for in a romance. Definitely give this one a read.
Fast, steamy, hot read!!!!
Absolutely loved this book! Need a hot, steamy read get this book! Luke and Madison’s story is terrific. Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss writing together, Amazing!!!

Misadventures of a City Girl by Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss was the second book in the Misadventures series by various popular best selling romance authors. Bliss is one of my favorite authors and although just introduced to Wild recently, will likely move to that spot as well in time.
Madison Atwood was running from a recent divorce from her high school sweetheart, now a Hollywood Star, that left her heart and ego bruised. She went to a mountain retreat in the middle of nowhere to find peace and solitude. Instead, she happened upon Luke Dawson who was living in the mountains after his multiple tours of duty left him feeling lost in mainstream society.
It was all sexual at first. And they became friends as they talked in between bouts of sex, sharing their disappointments and fears. After that the plot wasn’t always believable but it moved quickly and was light hearted.
Misadventures of a City Girl was a great bridge between dark and emotional books that wring everything out of you. It served the purpose of a simple, fun, steamy and quick read.
Good love story
Not realistic, confusing characters. I had a hard time getting into the story as it is not believable for adults to behave in such an immature way. Not sure I will be able to finish this one.
Cover:
Awful.
Editing/proofing:
Could be worse, but I wouldn’t call it ‘good’.
Character development:
Literally none. Very noticeably lacking any depth or personality.
This popped up on my kindle and I figured ‘why not’. If you’re looking for a quick, down & dirty porn in book form, this is likely for you. If you’re looking for a book with an actual plot and substance, it may not be.
Starts out with the same old, done-to-death, tired scenario. A woman is bathing in self pity having just signed divoce papers, freeing herself from a man who dragged her reputation through the mud and very publicly cheated on her after she’d stuck by him and put her own aspirations on hold to do so.
Cut to her wanting to start over, or seeking a break from the norm, etc. and then add in a hot loner … the lack of originality is a bit draining. Even though I knew every little step that was clearly about to play out from page one, I tried to read it with an open mind. Sadly, I was not wrong.
It’s fast burn, there’s no shortage of sex, voyeurism, self-pleasuring, etc., though the scenes are very typical. There’s no personality, no fire here. I felt I’d read all of these exact scenes a hundred times.
I get that not much is original but … this was pointedly unoriginal. It seems the authors figured they’d capitalize on the people who just want something quick to inspire them with their B.O.B. —which I am not knocking at all—I just can’t say there’s any actual art here to appreciate.
That said, this may or may not be for you.
For me it was 2 stars at best.
No very fluid. I found it to be slow to develop.
Didn’t impress me due to lack of content. Too much emphasis on the sex and not enough on a developing storyline.
Was not as good as the rest in the series
I listened to this book on my drive to Branson during my spring break. It was an okay story. I had some issues with it, but overall the steaminess was really good. I wasn’t quite sure why he behaved the way he did in the small town, or why those small town people behaved quite the way they did either. It was my first book by either of these authors though, so I will probably read more by them in the future.
loved this book
