Elia Aiavao wants nothing to do with Christmas this year. Once known for his good humor as the “Smiling Samoan” of mixed martial arts, he hasn’t had much Christmas cheer since he lost his beloved niece, so when he’s offered a job working through the holidays, he jumps at the distraction of running security for the Princess of Pop… only to discover his client is actually Calliope Rae, the star’s … star’s nine-year-old daughter.
Elia is determined to keep his distance, but that’s easier said than done when he meets Callie… and the sultry singer who is her unconventional mother.
Alexa Rae didn’t know the first thing about parenting when she found herself famously widowed with a baby on the way—so she did what she always does. She focused on her career while her personal life was falling apart and hired the best nannies in the business to take care of the baby. But now that baby is nine years old and every time Alexa looks at her she’s crushed by the guilt that she couldn’t be the parent she herself had never had.
With a new album and a new tour to promote, Alexa knows now is not the time to let up on her career, but maybe with the help of one unlikely Christmas elf—in the body of a sexy six-and-a-half-foot Samoan bodyguard—the singer and her daughter may find a Christmas miracle of their own and finally learn how to be a family.
A heartwarming holiday romance from award-winning author Lizzie Shane.

I loved Elia. That should be all you need to know… Okay, here’s a bit more. When I read that it was an Elite Protection story, I was expecting a romance built around some mayhem and intrigue… Turns out, Miracle on Mulholland is a wonderfully warm, sweet, funny, holiday story that has a bit of what you’d expect from this series. Elia is known as the Smiling Samoan, at least he was back in his MMA days. He is a big guy, now working protection, with a ready smile (hence the nickname), a roll-off-his-back attitude, and some major hurt in his past. His assignment this holiday season, or so he thinks, is providing protection for a rock star, Alexa Rae. Turns out, it is more for the security surrounding her daughter, a spitfire named Callie. All three of these individuals are in for a major Christmas surprise. I won’t get into the story and plot that brings them together but I will say there is a bit of intrigue and mayhem mixed in. It isn’t the central part of the story; instead, Alexa, Callie and Elia are. I so enjoyed this book that I read straight thru until I had finished. It will touch your heart, probably make you yell at the injustice of it all, it will make you smile, and then it will make you sigh. I really loved the story and it is a great holiday read.
This was such a fantastic book! To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much out of a book about a rock star and a bodyguard, even if it is a Lizzie Shane book. I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised if Santa himself had come down my chimney!
This book was mostly about the relationship between Alexa and her nine year old daughter. It really wasn’t a good relationship and Alexa just had no idea how to fix it. She loves her daughter so much and thought she had done what was best for her. She’s finding out she failed miserably. My heart really ached for her.
Elia was a giant of a man who happened to be a Samoan retired MMA fighter. He sees the problems the two are having and it breaks his heart. He decides to stick his neck out where it very possibly might get chopped off by Alexa and try to help them. He pulls and prods and leads the mother and daughter down a gentler path of interaction. Elia is the bodyguard, but he just might be the one in danger–in danger of losing his heart to both of them.
I was gifted this book, but all the thoughts are honest and my own.
I really enjoyed this Christmas book.
It’s an emotional & touching story.
Elia is hired as a personal body guard.
He is to watch over, Callie, the daughter
of pop star, Alexa, while she traveling
for work. Elia, noticed when introduced to Callie, that mom & daughter were distant with one another.
When the nanny had a family emergency, Elia stepped in. It took time, but he finally was able to get Callie to open up.
Elia & Alexa, argued, after he pointed
out her daughter loves & needs her.
She realized her daughter deserved better,
& that Alexa needed to step up.
I loved their story, & the chemisty between Elia, Alexa & Callie.
A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!!
Miracle on Mulholland is book two in the Yours for Christmas series. This story had me from the get-go. I really enjoyed the relationship Elia and Callie built. It just had the real-feels. Definitely one not to miss.
5 TOUCHING STARS!! What a beautiful touching story. This book was perfect for this time of year. Lizzie Shane is a beautiful writing author that gives us readers great characters and touching stories and she has done it again. This is definitely a book you will want to read at this time of year.
This charming holiday read really does make you believe in miracles. Elia is a former MMA fighter turned security specialist. His new assignment turns into a little more than he bargained for when he learns that his bodyguard duty is for pop star Alexa Rae, but her nine year old daughter, Callie. Elia has a heartbreaking reason for not only taking a job over the holidays and being away from his family, but also feeling uncomfortable around the little girl. But when the nanny is called away, he’s forced to take on more of her care than he thought.
Elia’s relationship with Callie was the real draw for me. Callie and her mom are not close at all, for a lot of reasons, and that has made Callie more than a little withdrawn and older than she should be. I loved how Elia brought her out of her shell and brought Christmas into her world, while her mother was off playing pop star.
While Alexa did grow on me, I was not impressed with that character at all. This has nothing to do with Lizzie Shane’s writing style; in fact, I think she did this on purpose so the reader had to learn to forgive Alexa, like Callie did.
Very easy to read but full of fun and heartwarming moments, Miracle on Mulholland was a great holiday read with an interesting storyline and engaging characters.
A Christmas story with a bit of a twist. As a hot young pop singer, Alexa Rae loves the adrenaline rush of performing. But when she finds herself pregnant, and the baby’s father dies of a drug overdose, she goes into protect mode and tries to shield her daughter from any publicity. But her career needs a boost, which means she goes on the road. Having a fan make it past the wall of surrounding her home, she realizes that she needs more security.
Elia Aiavao takes any job that keeps him busy over the holidays so he doesn’t have to face his sister and miss the niece he lost. So this job should be easy until the nanny has to leave for a family emergency and he becomes both guard and nanny to a sad nine year old.
As he and Callie bond, he also falls for her mother. Theirs is not to be an easy relationship with two strong personalities. But the author does a great job of telling their story without the sappy HEA and predictable ending. You get the HEA but you also get a great story!
