What if you could ask God anything? What would you ask, and how would He answer? Chelsea Chambers is on her own. After a public split from her NFL superstar husband, Chelsea takes a bold step out of the limelight and behind the counter of the Higher Grounds Café, an old-fashioned coffee shop in dire need of reinvention. But when her courage, expert planning, and out-of-this-world cupcakes fail to … out-of-this-world cupcakes fail to pay the bills, this newly single mom finds herself desperate for help. Better yet, a miracle.
Then a curious stranger lands on Chelsea’s doorstep, and with him, an even more curious string of events. Soon, customers are flocking to the Higher Grounds Café, and not just for the cupcakes and cappuccino. They’ve come for the internet connection to the divine. Now the café has become the go-to place for people in search of answers to life’s biggest questions.
When a catastrophe strikes and her ex comes calling, Chelsea begins to wonder if the whole universe is conspiring against her quest to make it on her own. After a shocking discovery opens her eyes to the unseen world around her, Chelsea finds the courage to ask God a question of her own—and heaven answers in a most unexpected way.

I really enjoyed this story from a man who usually writes non-fiction. A great little read.
A light book to read with a bit more depth than you think at first. I listened to it while in the car and it was perfect relaxing story to enjoy while driving a route I do too often. Book isn’t long so goes quickly. Enjoyed it but I like Max Lucado’s writing . . . didn’t know he was a bit of a Star Wars fan.
This author writes with both great storytelling ability and a fantastic imagination. The premise of Miracle at the Higher Grounds is that a third generation coffee house becomes a blessed house indeed. There are more problems than a person can think of. But a guardian angel, multiple other angels, and God the Father himself step in to straighten …
a feel good book
not believable but an ok read
Loved this book. Could hardly put it down.
I love Max Lucado, met him at Pepperdine College retreat years ago and that was before he became an accomplished Christian author. I didn’t know until this book that he also did fiction novels. Loved it.
I love the writings of Max Lucado
Witty. Fun. Easy to read but pure enjoyment. And what is important to me is that it is good clean enjoyment.
I was a little dissapointed in selection of “Blog” content but the main message was appropriate. The Power of the internet is just NOT important to me I guess.
As always, written beautifully and inspiring.
Cute book. I like Max Lucado.
Enjoyable read.
So enjoyed this book. Hard to put down!!!
I’m ready for a sequel!
I really like Max Lucado and his writing. He has helped me a lot over the years. But this attempt at a novel left me scratching my head. It was easy to read but I could not find the point. But I am a pretty literal person so it may appeal to others.
Makes me look at differently with many things that happen in my life and keeps me God-focused.
I liked this Christian story because of the interesting proposal of heaven interacting with humans. A comforting and thought-provoking concept for anyone who wonders.
Had read it few years back and ordered it again. It was clean and entertainig.
I was delighted with this book. It so encouraged me, that God is truly with me all the time, in the good and the bad.
