MinxA romantic comedy about friendships, flirtations, and the elusive “Fantasm!”Hi! I’m Miranda Blake and this is my story. Well, sort of. It’s more like a twisted fairytale, if you believe in them. Except there’s no beautiful, young princess with perky breasts, perfectly coiffed hair and a sassy attitude. I’m closing in on fifty, thirty pounds overweight according to Weight Watchers, and, after … pounds overweight according to Weight Watchers, and, after nursing two kids and that bitch, gravity, doing her job, I’m lucky the ladies don’t hit my knees. The gorgeous brown mane of hair is slightly frizzy from my ridiculous attempts to recapture my youth by dyeing the hell out of it. As for sassy attitude, well, it wasn’t so long ago that I was a doormat. And the charming prince who sweeps me off my feet into the life of my dreams? I have a dog called Prince, German Shepherd, who knocks me on my ass if I’m in the way when the doorbell rings. Does that count?

Minx is my first experience with Maggie Adams’ writing but likely not my last. This was a rather short book but it wasn’t short on laughs or keeping my interest. I was completely interested in this story when I read the funny, light hearted synopsis and I’m pleased to say the book roped me in just as quickly.
If you’re looking for a fast read that is humorous and relatable, give Minx a go.
Well written fun story. I can so relate to our MInx as a fellow klutz. I love seeing how she grows during this story.

Minx is a great romantic comedy that keeps you turning the pages to find out what happens next! Maggie Adams, another awesome read!!
Miranda thought she had it all…love, marriage, children and her HEA with some small issues until out of the blue her husband asks for a divorce. What happens next is so relatable to life with hilarious mishaps, building self confidence, tears, laughter, and a second chance at finding the ultimate HEA…
A laugh out loud awesome read! Miranda finds herself in some very awkward situations while trying to get her life back together. One of my favorite romcoms of the year! Definitely recommend this book.
Oh my word. What a fantastic book. This was a new author for me and she certainly didn’t disappoint. I literally was laughing out loud throughout the book. These characters are extremely well written and I couldn’t walk away until I read the book from beginning to end. Loved it and so thankful to have found this author. Highly recommended.
Minx was a fantastic Romcom! It was a cute romantic comedy and a quick read. I laughed so hard a few times and those sex scenes were WOW! The words that Maggie put in it made it seem so real. From the older woman bodies and walking in heals. Which I would be just like Miranda. I absolutely loved Minx and cannot wait to read more of Maggie Adams work!

This is a lovely story that i enjoyed more and more with every page i turned. This did make me sad at the beginning. But more than made up for it later. The story was good and I loved the characters.
Miranda was goofy at times and I wondered what she is thinking. Other times she just had me shaking my head. But overall she gave me hope. Hope that even though someone Is older…she can still have that life she fantasized about living. Sometimes Act Two can be better than the first.
Thank goodness for her girlfriends. While they add nicely to the story they didn’t take anything away from Miranda. I did LOVE the name they gave her ex. It cracked me up! This is a shorter story but It really doesn’t seem that way. I felt like this was a full book with all the love, silliness and irritation that would accompany it. The ending rounded the book out perfectly! I loved it!
This is my first book by this author, I loved it! It is a fun story that has humor, romance and drama. It is a well written, creative story that I read in one sitting. The characters bring the story to life and made me feel as if I was part of the group. Miranda was my favorite and the secondary characters really did support her. Everyone could use friends like hers. It is about finding yourself after divorce and the journey to finding a HEA. A must read!

MINX by Maggie Adams was a delightfully funny romp that had me smiling and laughing out loud as I read along. This is also my first read by Ms. Adams, and what a great introduction it was! I will certainly be going on a search to hunt down more of her books to explore.
I loved meeting Miranda, and the rest of the cast of interesting and quirky characters. They were really well developed, realistic, and relatable- this story is definitely character driven, and really wouldn’t be the same without them. But there is more to this story than just the humour- there is also loss, shock, confusion, friendship, strength, finding yourself, some drama, witty dialogue, and a great ending!
After 20 years of marriage, Miranda’s husband decides to end their relationship- forcing her out of the family home and replacing her with a younger woman. She is a little lost- and with little skills except those of a stay at home mother and wife, she’s not sure what to do. But with the help of her friends, she sets out on her ‘adventure’ of building a life for herself after 20 years of basically being a doormat. And so, the hilarity ensues.
This was a very short, quick and easy read. It zipped along at a fast pace, which made it a little hectic at times, and also made it a little difficult to fully connect with the characters. I would love this book to have been a bit longer, so we had more time to invest in the characters and their story.
Having said that though, this was a really fun story and I did enjoy it.
Thank you, Ms. Adams!

This was my first book by this author and I truly enjoyed it. I found myself laughing out loud more than once and I enjoyed that Miranda wasn’t the perfect in every way 20 some year old. She was written in a way that made her feel like a real person and I so appreciated that. I think one of my only negatives is that it wasn’t long enough for me. I enjoyed everything about this book except I don’t know that I ever completely connected to the story. It seemed to move a bit too fast and I would have loved more.
I will say that the very first line of the book was enough to grab me and I didnt put it down till I was finished, and my first introduction to Kimy had me rolling. I Loved Reed, once I figured out why he was the way he was with Miranda and although at one point I wanted to jump in my kindle and kick him in the shins he redeemed himself quickly in my eyes.
I really did love the whole of this book, and I love this authors writing and just simply wanted more of it. I definitely want to read more from this author.
Minx by Maggie Adams. I loved this book. Its a short, hilarious read. Its the story of Miranda Blake who is almost 50 and dealing with all the “hilarious” things our bodies do to us during this time and also dealing with work, being overweight and trying to figure out what the heck to do after a divorce. She has a great group of friends that are her rocks and they are always there for her. She is super surprised when Reed a handsome devil, sweeps her off her feet and things begin to look up. This book is all about a woman who was used and abused for years and gets dumped and finding her way back to the woman she once was, sassy and classy. I loved this book and I hope to read more from this author.
This short rom-com was everything I wanted it to be. We have funny banter, a woman who wouldn’t let life knock her down and a group of friends that stand by your side no matter what.
We have Miranda who is trying to find herself after her divorce. I was enjoying myself with her cluelessness as to what affect she had on men around her. And I liked Reed from the get go. You could see he cared even when his words said otherwise.
Simply put – I loved it. I’m hoping we get to see more of this group of friends because they were hilarious.

The first installment in the Hell on Heels series by Maggie Adams is a hoot! Minx is a romantic comedy jam-packed with laughs, tears, and relatable situations. The protagonist, Miranda Blake, is a middle-aged wife who has centered her life around her family for the last twenty five years. When she suddenly finds her world flipped upside down, she must rely on her best friends for help. The characters are real and relatable and the story is engaging. I found this to be an easy read as I became invested in the characters and what was going to happen next. I recommend Minx with 4 out of 5 stars, and will be looking forward to reading the next installment.
We start with a fight oh wow. Miranda going through an ordeal. Tess is a brilliant friend. This is a fun story to read I would of loved more actually. I found bits of myself in Tessa and Miranda. There’s not a dull moment in this read
Off the bat this is a short story, and a hea. It’s about an older woman who already has grown kids and her marriage has fallen apart. She has a very odd set of friends. Honestly it reminded me about a group like sex in the city girls. So it went at a semi fast pace, at one moment she is asked about the divorce and the next it felt like she was already divorced and working. At first I thought the main guy was going to be Ritter, but then it became noticeable that it was going to be Reed. They start their affair and yes there is a hiccup and he basically dismisses her. This is where to me the drama happens and I liked it. The only thing that I didn’t like was that she didn’t make him grovel for forgiveness. Over all it’s a cute cheesy short story with a happily ever after.
I enjoyed this book. It’s fast read that I read rather quickly. I loved Miranda. Life as thrown her a curve ball, but it’s a blessing disguise because she may just find her HEA. Miranda is an older heroine who finally going to find the true and be free to be that woman. She’s deserves a guy who will treat as the queen she is. Poor Miranda though she’s a klutz and she finds herself in many embarrassing situations, but that’s what makes her so likable. That’s one of my favorites sides of her. I also love Miranda’s group of friends. They are mix bag of awesome. This book sure does take unexpected twist that had me gasp. It’s an easy read that will have you laughing and happy sighing.
This sounded like it was going to be a great read, while entertaining in parts, for me it just didn’t do it. The story had no depth and I didn’t feel like Miranda had done any growing. Other characters that should have more to do with the story just got eliminated, for example Miranda’s husband, it just could have been so much more than what it was for me.
It was a quick read and had some funny lines
