Very nicely written . The author has done some extensive research for this book and although her work is fiction it’s based upon real life. Helping us to understand what our country and families went through during that time. But also how even hundreds. Of years ago they like us relied upon their faith in God. There is special scripture at the beginning of each chapter which is nice. And I can recommend this book to my advanced reading preteen friends, no sexual references or language.
The author has penned a page turning story that is full of history so true to fact that you feel like you are a part of the events. This is Charles and Melody’s story whose relationship begins at the start of the Civil War. There are many twists and turns in the story. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Minnesota Bride set in 1861 is an easy-to-read tale of adventure. Ms. Prysock skillfully melds romance, intrigue, and faith into one enjoyable read. The plot flows at a fitting pace, and the characters are engaging and believable. Real-life characters and events are blended effective into the fictional narrative showing evidence of extensive research. I enjoyed this read and recommend it especially for lovers of historical romance.

Loved this book!! Charles and Melody had a very unique story! Charles’ proposal to Melody left a lot to be desired, for sure! At least he admitted it, too!! From the beginning, you’re drawn in to the story, and there are a few twists and turns you aren’t fully expecting. Melody’s plans for her future took the course she wanted, thanks to Charles, and then she finally gets her HEA, too, also thanks to Charles! Great read!!! The research Lisa put into this book was inspiring, and the history lover in me was intrigued!

Cute book. In the beginning it was hard for me to get through because there were so many names and connections put in it. I just kept reading and realized it wasn’t super critical to remember all the names. I liked hearing about the Lincoln’s and the Underground Railroad. This book had some scripture passages at the beginning of most chapters, but it wasn’t so in your face that it is irritating and distracting to the story. All in all it was a quick, cute read.
I loved this book because I like historical romance and the Civil War. And this book has both.
Couldn’t put this one down. Ended up staying up all night to finish.
Book # 2 in the multi-author series and Lisa Prysock does not disappoint. Details and character building is her strong-point, and discovering love in the midst of the grief during the Civil War is refreshing. Great entertainment.
Interesting, intriguing, heart wrenching, and heartwarming with plenty of adventure, and romance. Wonderful read.
