It’s a fine line between feuding and flirting… Ever since Megan Miller arrived in stunning Lost Harbor, Alaska, she’s been at odds with boat captain Lucas Holt. They’re opposites in every way. She’s a city girl, he’s from an Alaska homestead. She runs nature tours, he’s all about big-money charters. He’s also arrogant, annoying and oh yeah, wildly attractive. Lost Harbor would be the perfect … perfect escape from the tragedy that sent her running–except for her feud with the hottie captain.
Lucas Holt came home for one thing—settle his father’s affairs then hightail it back to Colorado. So why is he still here? Is it because there’s something fishy about his father’s death? Is it the endearingly eccentric locals and enchanting scenery? Or could it be Lost Harbor’s newest resident, a sassy scientist who’s as sexy as she is stubborn? Arguing with Megan is the best foreplay he’s had in years.
Until one of Lost Harbor’s dangerous storms tosses everything up in the air, and a feud turns to a passionate affair–with stakes higher than Megan ever imagined.

Alaska is one of my favorite states and I’m thrilled to see it star in so many novels of late. Each author brings their own take, but the magic never changes. Bernard brings her own twist to the small community of Lost Harbor. Megan and Lucas are the perfect enemies to lovers. This is the perfect novel for fans of Alaska and verbal foreplay.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
What a great start to this series! Love Jennifer Bernard’s books!
This is a promising start to a new series. Lucas and Megan don’t exactly hit it off when they first meet but the verbal sparring is fun to read and soon other feelings besides annoyance appear. Lucas grew up with a cruel dad but with his death Lucas comes back to Lost Harbor to help his mom and deal with his dads charter business. Megan came to Lost Harbor to escape a tragic circumstance and to give her daughter, Ruby, the chance to experience nature and being carefree. Thanks to an idiot ex, a storm and an otter Lucas and Megan don’t stand a chance against life and love. Lost Harbor is filled with lots of unique characters who will be fun to get to know in the books to come!
Sweet. Baby… Otter!
Thrill – Verb – cause (someone) to have a sudden feeling of excitement and pleasure. Nothing can beat that feeling when starting a new book, and especially this new Series, by Jennifer Bernard! No exception here. She once again floors her readers with her vivid descriptions of nature, this time Alaska, intense emotions, everyday situations (mind you; read for Alaskan old-timers!), quirky, lovable characters, lively humor, suspenseful events… And boats…
Quote: “That boat is designed to bully. It’s the kind of boat that would stuff you in a locker. The kind of boat that can deadlift a Volvo. The kind of boat that kisses its own biceps. The kind of boat—”Ha-ha!
Ruby is an absolutely adorable genius. Megan a troubled but caring mother, her main concern:
Quote: “I worried that if we stayed in the city she’d never form a relationship with nature.”
Dev; a concerned-but-pain-of-an-ex-husband. And Luke… the delectable cherry on top of the cake! Yum… He knows how to rock a boat!
Do yourself a favour and “One-Click” this one. You will not be disappointed. I can’t wait to read the next book!
Received as an ARC and voluntarily leaving a review.
I can tell I’m going to love this town! Lucas and Megan had a rivalry going from the first meet. Getting the last word was the goal. I loved their banter and their chemistry. Ruby was a gem (groan), and the secondary characters were awesome. Can’t wait for more from Lost Harbor, Alaska!
What a great book for a new series. This book will have you chuckling throughout the story while falling in love with how wonderful Lucas is. Lucas Holt and Megan Miller have the most fun with their “verbal foreplay” and you just can’t help but grin over the things that they argue about. I loved watching their relationship grow throughout the whole story and also how they interacted with the other secondary characters in the story. And let’s not forget Ruby, Megan’s young daughter. She is adorable. This is a very well written story and you don’t want to miss out on this one.
First book in a new series by a favorite author! It is set in an Alaskan harbor and you can honestly feel the changes in the weather; that’s how descriptive it is. I won’t retell the story but it is about Megan Miller, her little girl Ruby, and Lucas Holt.
Megan is divorced, has just moved to Alaska, and she is trying to fit in with the “locals” by being the very best at anything and everything. Her daughter is a child prodigy but very much an adorably too-smart-for-her-age little girl, who loves her mother (as much as her mother loves her) and nature and everything about where they are living in Alaska. Megan’s ex is someone I could grow to dislike, quite easily, but you’ll have to read the story to enjoy that ride.
Lucas has just come back home to Alaska to deal with his recently deceased father’s business, his dad’s “stuff”, and to help his mother but yearns to go back to his home and business in Colorado. But he adores Ruby and loves, loves, loves to tease Megan every chance he gets. He often tries to be nice but it always comes out snarky…let the sparks fly!
Because it is a new series, we get to meet lots of folks in town, enjoy the scenery, and start to love everyone and everything here. There is drama and intrigue and a bit of mayhem thrown in for good measure – Ruby has an “adventure” that made my heart beat faster! – but at its core it is a story of Megan and Lucas falling in love. Enjoyed the story and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Jennifer Bernard has given her readers another wonderful series! This series is set in picturesque Lost Harbor Alaska. Ms. Bernard does an excellent job describing the scenes so that you can picture them in your mind as you read. She has continued her characterization with strong women with minds of their own & ruggedly sexy men. Lucas is a boat captain who is there to sort through his father’s affairs. Megan is a scientist there to provide knowledge to tourists & locals alike via her nature tours. They’ve had an adversarial relationship but have been hiding their attraction under sarcastic wit & sexy flirting. When danger overtakes them, will they turn towards each other or turn away?
I always love starting new series, learning about the town or city it is set in, meeting all the (usually kooky) citizens. Well, there’s definitely an old duck (or maybe chicken) or two, but Jennifer Bernard also brought the beauty of small town coastal Alaska to life in Mine Until Moonrise.
Lucas and Megan are adversaries, which is a much more accurate description than frenemies, in their case. We get little glimpses of their short history together through the book. Lucas grew up in Lost Harbor but Megan and her extremely bright and precocious daughter Ruby have only been there about eight months or so. While his fishing tour business and her bird-watching boat rides are in direct competition with each other, Lucas and Megan have made competing with each other almost a full time job!
While it took me a few chapters to become settled into their story, I knew I liked Lucas after he says no her her ex, Dev. Nope, not spoiling that conversation! Megan doesn’t need or want anyone taking care of her…she’s all about building a life for Ruby and herself without assistance. Admirable, but sometimes short sited.
I like this small town and look forward to catching up with Megan, Ruby and Lucas as other towns folks meet their matches and fall into their HEA, too!
Mine Until Moonrise is an enemies-to-lovers story set in a picture perfect Alaskan fishing village and the perfect start to a new series.
Meghan Miller moved to Lost Harbor to get a fresh start for her and her daughter, Ruby. She immediately clashes with her harbor neighbor, cocky Lucas Holt. After months of sparring, animosity turns to attraction but neither know how long they will stay in Lost Harbor, or if they are willing to risk their hearts.
I loved this!! I really enjoyed the main characters and the Alaskan setting. I can’t wait to read more from this series!!
What an amazing start to a new series by Jennifer Bernard. This is set in Lost Harbor, Alaska and features Megan and Lucas. I won’t leave any spoilers, but if you enjoy laughs, a little suspense, and a whole lotta love, then you won’t be disappointed. The way she describes the scenes makes you feel like you’re there in Alaska. I can’t wait for book two.
Yay! A new series! This one is set in a coastal town in Alaska, complete with fishing excursions and nature tours. Megan is doing her best to fit in, having moved to Lost Harbor due to the encouragement from her eight-year-old math prodigy daughter, Ruby. Megan’s only problem is Lucas, who keeps his fishing boat in the slip next to her nature tours boat. Yes, he’s a delicious specimen of a man, but he pushes all of her buttons and, infuriatingly, always manages to get the last word.
In no time at all, I fell in love with all of these characters and everything Lost Harbor, devouring the story in one sitting. Megan and Lucas seem to come alive on the page, both of them with endearing flaws, and their bickering banter is lively and delightfully entertaining. There’s not one thing I would change, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Lucas and Megan’s journey to forever is witty, heartwarming and enchanting, so don’t pass up the opportunity to visit them in Lost Harbor.
*I read a pre-publication version of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide feedback and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source.
I have been reading this author from her first series and I have been sucked in sense. I could not wait for a book based in Alaska, but this is nothing like I expected! I loved how it is a little unknown place where the community comes together for each other. Jennifer keeps you interested by keeping you rooting for the main characters. I loved how you are unsure which way the story is going to go, so you keep on reading until the end. And the ending…… I cannot wait for the second book! Another great series!
Mine Until Moonrise was a wonderful story of finding love where and when you least expect it! Our heroine Megan Miller is a new transplant to Lost Harbor Alaska. She and her daughter Ruby have left the hustle and bustle of California to live a simpler life in this fishing community. From the moment Lucas Holt returned to Lost Harbor after his father’s death, he has argued with Megan about anything and everything! Megan and Lucas both have some serious issues to deal with but if they can share their troubles with each other, they can find the support that they both want and need. Mine Until Moonrise is a great enemies to lovers story and the cast of supporting characters are so good! From Boris and his pet chicken to Zoe and her take charge attitude, I was drawn into Lost Harbor and never wanted to leave. Megan and Lucas may have seemed like oil and vinegar but they are really fire and ice and when combined they were smoking hot! This was a great start to what I hope will be a long series. It was written from dual POV and is sweet, spicy and everything in between.
Classic Jennifer Bernard (and that’s a great thing!)
This first book in the new Lost Harbor, Alaska series has all the things I love about a Jennifer Bernard book. Drama, an enemies-to-lovers vibe (more like adversaries in this case), and of course we can’t forget the steamy love scenes as well.
I’m looking forward to getting just as hooked on this series as I have on all of her others!
I found this book difficult to get into, but once it really got going, I was hooked. It has that literary gem – a truly loathe-able character – and here, that character is Megan’s pillock of an ex-husband. As I said, I found that the chemistry in the hate/love relationship between Megan and Lucas was hard to pick up on initially, but believe me when I say that the rest of the book has that in spades. Clearly, Lost Harbor is a prank-playing community, and the verbal barbs between the two main characters are brilliant. I loved how Jennifer Bernard incorporated Ruby in the story (Megan’s daughter). Her role is entirely appropriate for a young child, and she is never given adult responsibilities or characteristics as so many young characters are in less well-written books. On the whole, Lucas is one of my favorite recent characters, and this is a book that leaves you feeling more optimistic about life.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
Mine Until Moonrise, the first book in the Lost Harbor, Alaska series is a wonderful story set in a small fishing town. Megan is a divorced mother raising a daughter, Ruby, who is an 8 year old math prodigy. Raising a child alone is difficult, but when that child is a genius, it creates a whole new set of problems
Megan Miller runs a charter boat taking people on birdwatching tours in Lost Harbor. The Forget Me Not is an old boat, but it is hers and she is determined to make her nature tour/birdwatching tour business a success.
Lucas Holt also runs a charter boat. He takes clients out in the harbor on fishing expeditions. He and Megan didn’t get off to a good start. She ran her old tub, the Forget Me Not, into his expensive charter boat He manages to stay on Megan’s wrong side by running his powerful boat into the areas where she is birdwatching and startling all the birds so that they fly away.
This book has well-developed characters, a great story line, romance and even a few heart-stopping moments. It kept my attention from the first chapter to the end. I look forward to the next book in the Lost Harbor series.
This is a sink into feel good story. Megan and her adorable daughter Ruby, move to Lost Harbor,Alaska to escape a tragic event. Lucas a hometown boy is back after the death of his father. After a rocky start the two are finding their way to each other. Great town and supporting characters little hints at strange happenings. Wonderful start to a new series and looking forward to reading more. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review
Mine Until Moonlight is a delightful book! It contains colorful characters, witty writing, the beautiful backdrop of Alaska, and sizzling chemistry between two harbor neighbors (it’s a thing trust me).
Jennifer Bernard has created a wonderful new series where you can either get lost or found (depending on your situation) in Lost Harbor, Alaska. For our main characters, Megan and Lucas, they happened to need just a bit of both.
Megan is running from a past tragedy and hoping to lose herself in the peaceful town of Lost Harbor. Lucas grew up in Alaska, moved away from the small town, but upon his fathers death is back now trying to find answers to his mysterious death.
While these two came from different backgrounds, they also have similar values. Neither would ever admit it to the other, because it just might mean they actually liked one another, and they have this unspoken feud between them. Well…not so much unspoken, because you can’t feud without a few choice words, but more like an undocumented feud. When does a feud actually begin? How do you set the terms? Isn’t that what makes a feud, the verbal sparring, the light jabs, the so called pranks? These two are good at their feuding and it makes for a really fun book.
Megan and Lucas are harbor neighbors, that’s what she called them, much to Lucas’ argument that there is no such term. They park their boats next to one another at the docks and while he has (or more like his father had) a thriving fishing business, Megan’s nature business is less than thriving. Lucas came home after his father passed to settle affairs, which also meant running his fishing boat, not something he was exactly happy about, which he sometimes took out on his harbor neighbor (I love using this term). He also is looking into his father’s death, which is a lot of fun as he goes around town talking to people regarding his father.
Megan doesn’t have time to worry about her sexy, everyone-loves-him-in-town, harbor neighbor. She has a business to run and she needs to drum up business. On top of that, she has a gifted daughter and her meddling ex who doesn’t believe that living in a small town in Alaska is the best thing for her. If she can’t make enough to support them she might actually have to sell her boat and move proving her ex was right. When she finds out a producer is in town filming a nature show and could be interested in Lucas’ boat, she jumps at the opportunity to show them what she’s got. She will not let sexy Lucas take this opportunity from her.
They both have things to worry about while in Alaska and a feud between harbor neighbors is one thing neither really have time for, but they both can’t seem to avoid the pitfalls that feuding brings. Especially when there is a fine line between feuding and flirting. They are drawn to each other like a moth to a flame. Their story is fun and once you pick it up it’s very hard to put down.
This is a great first story to a new series and I’m looking forward to more in this small town of Lost Harbor.
High adventures on sea and land for Megan, Ruby and Lucas! These wonderful characters find what they didn’t know what they wanted or needed in Lost Harbor, Alaska. Lucas, born and raised in this amazing environment but, left looking for a different life in Colorado. Megan and eight year old daughter, Ruby move to Lost Souls looking for a fresh start from a traumatic ordeal in California. Megan the ever diligent scientist finds a happy balance combining her work and spending time with Ruby, a math prodigy in their new home. With the return of Lucas after his estranged father’s death, Megan finds herself at odds with the sexy, annoying sailor. Lucas takes over his father’s fishing business and realizes he can’t help but antagonize Megan at every turn. The sexual tension is blatant in their arguing but, they resist because Lucas doesn’t do relationships and is temporarily back in Alaska. Megan is dealing with a struggling nature cruise business and doesn’t want to get involved with another arrogant man like her ex-husband.
These characters along with the many other residents of Lost Harbor are fun, engaging, quirky and completely lovable. Their lives in this small waterfront town are connected, simple yet, complicated and full of loyalty and respect. It is a pleasure and honor to be privy to their stories. I highly recommend this book – as a romance addict you won’t be disappointed!
