It’s a fine line between feuding and flirting… Ever since Megan Miller arrived in stunning Lost Harbor, Alaska, she’s been at odds with boat captain Lucas Holt. They’re opposites in every way. She’s a city girl, he’s from an Alaska homestead. She runs nature tours, he’s all about big-money charters. He’s also arrogant, annoying and oh yeah, wildly attractive. Lost Harbor would be the perfect … perfect escape from the tragedy that sent her running–except for her feud with the hottie captain.
Lucas Holt came home for one thing—settle his father’s affairs then hightail it back to Colorado. So why is he still here? Is it because there’s something fishy about his father’s death? Is it the endearingly eccentric locals and enchanting scenery? Or could it be Lost Harbor’s newest resident, a sassy scientist who’s as sexy as she is stubborn? Arguing with Megan is the best foreplay he’s had in years.
Until one of Lost Harbor’s dangerous storms tosses everything up in the air, and a feud turns to a passionate affair–with stakes higher than Megan ever imagined.

Mine Until Moonrise is the first novel in the Lost Harbor, Alaska series which can be read as a standalone or as the first part of the Lost Harbor series, is an enemies-to-lovers story and is told in the third-person point of view.
Megan has recently moved to Lost Harbor, Alaska with her smarter than normal daughter Ruby. Trying to start over after her divorce and trauma at her old job she is finding it hard to fit in with the locals. Especially Lucas Holt who is constantly bugging her by pushing all her buttons and having to get in the last word. Lucas has come back home to Lost Harbor to deal with his father’s estate to which he is convinced that there is more to his death than has been told. When both Lucas and Megan have had enough they decide to take their boats out to enjoy some quiet time until a violent storm rolls in and changes everything.
Mine Until Moonrise was a great beginning to the Lost Harbor, Alaska series. We meet a lot of interesting characters who catch your attention and you can not wait to learn more about it. Lucas and Megan’s constant bantering is fun and Jennifer Bernard describes Lost Harbor so well that you feel like you are right there with the characters. Mine Until Moonrise is the first novel by Jennifer Bernard that I have had the pleasure of reading and I plan on continuing to enjoy the Lost Harbor series and more of her novels.
OMG what a great beginning to a new series from author Jennifer Bernard. She uniquely allows the reader to be transported to Alaska while staying all warm and cozy in their favorite reading spot. The characters are well written, engaging and realistic. The story itself is fun, and at times a little bit more. It’s hard to say just what makes it more. Watching as the characters deal with their lives, the past and what they want for the future will have you feeling as though YOU are there. The setting leaves you wanting to visit Alaska! Fans of small town romances that have a setting that’s a character in and of itself will want to pick this one up today. If you are new to Jennifer Bernard’s writing or small town romances you’ll be pleasantly surprised and eager for the next book in the series. A great story!
*4.5 stars*
Snarky banter and sweet, sweet love…
This is the first in a series set in the rugged terrain of Alaska and it was fabulous!
Megan and Lucas had sparks from their first meeting. That snarky, fractious tone set the mood but that wasn’t all that was between them. Did love and sarcasm butt up against each other? A lot? Yeah, it did and every minute of it was full of heart and laughter and lots of zinging conversation. Their journey from arguing to desire to like to, dare I say love, was a story rich in backstories that came together in a heartwarming ending…
If you love your love with snark and sass and a good dose of family and warmth, then you are in the perfect place!
*I happily reviewed this story
Jennifer Bernard has a new series set in Lost Harbor, Alaska loved it!!! Megan and her daughter, Ruby are new to Lost Harbor after leaving the big city, and is running a nature tour. Lucas has returned home after the death of his dad, running a fishing charter. From the very beginning they are feuding but soon it becomes a fun banter with hot sex.
Loved these characters, the banter had me laughing out loud. Ruby is a genius and Megan just wants to her to enjoy being a kid too, loved the otter. The descriptive writing makes you want to visit this small town in Alaska. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I loved Megan and Luke’s story in Mine Until Moonrise by Jennifer Bernard, the first book in her Lost Harbor, Alaska series. Megan escaped with her genius-level daughter after a horrible incident, leaving the big city for an Alaskan homestead and a tour boat, The Forget-Me-Not. Since her arrival she has butted heads with the hottie captain, Lucas Holt, operating his late father’s charter company. She runs nature tours; he’s all about big-money charters. He’s also arrogant, annoying, and oh yeah, wildly attractive. Lucas came back home only to settle his father’s affairs before returning to Colorado; yet he’s not ready to flee the town where he grew up. He’s enjoying spending time with Lost Harbor’s newest resident, Megan and her daughter Riley. Butting heads and arguing with Megan is the best foreplay he’s had in years. When a dangerous storm roils not just the seas, their feud turns into a passionate affair; one that could affect all that’s important to Megan.
Ms. Bernard wrote an amazing, visual, sexy and magical escape that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Megan and Luke a chance at forever love. I highly recommend Mine Until Moonrise to other readers and am totally looking forward to the next story in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Mine Until Moonrise is book one in the Lost Harbor, Alaska series. This was a great start to a new series. I loved getting a glimpse of the people in this series, and Megan and Luke’s story kept me hooked. This is definitely a must-read.

Megan is a divorced single Mother, and owner of Forget Me Not Nature Tours. She went to school for Ornithology, and takes people out to show them birds. Luke is the owner of a halibut fishing chater company. They live in Lost Harbor Alaska. The sexual tension between the two of them is so hot. There is a tv show called Trekking, they come up to Lost Harbor to interview some people. Megan makes some remarks about climate change, and suddenly she is shunned by her neighbors. Fun on them, there is a storm that they say was caused by climate change. Megan gets caught in the storm and Lucas talks her out of it into a cove with his boat to wait it out. The sexual tension reaches a head, and they sleep together. Things happen, things are sold, and bought back. Things are apart, and then back together.
The next book in the series is hopefully about Zoe and Paul, from the very end of this book.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have loved books by Jennifer Bernard since her first novel. She has such a way with imagery. I have never been to Alaska but I feel like I could walk right up to the ice cream shop in Lost Harbor. This book, likely because it is the first in a series, seemed to have an extremely slow start. For as much as I know about Lost Harbor I had to wait to really get to Megan and Lucas and Ruby. I think this novel in particular struck me more as a women’s fiction novel that was sexy so it classifies as a romance novel. Megan takes a real personal journey which I found to be far more central to the story than the relationship between her and Lucas. I can’t wait to see what happens to the other characters in town after this intriguing start!
A new series by one of my favorite authors! Mine Until Moonrise by Jennifer Bernard is the first in the Lost Harbor series. It has beautiful Alaska as the setting and wonderful characters that are easy to fall in love with. As always with this author, the story pulls you in from the first page and keeps you reading to the end. The characters are well-developed, the romance tugs at the heart, and a little adventure pulls it all together. Pick this one up! You will not be disappointed! I am looking forward to the rest of this series.
Megan and her daughter Ruby moved to Lost Harbor, Alaska, after traumatic event at Megan workplace.
Lucas have to move back home after his father passed away, he has to take care of his father affairs.
Megan and Lucas don’t see eye to eye.
That’s change soon too….
Awesome story, great characters.
Jennifer Bernard is one of my favorite authors and how exciting is it she has a new series! Mine Until Moonrise is the perfect beginning to this series. I love the location, the scenery, the town, all of the new characters we get to learn about and fall in love with.
I loved the banter between Megan and Lucas and Ruby stole my heart from the very beginning. Jennifer’s descriptions were so perfect I could picture this beautiful location and makes me want to travel to Alaska right now!
This is a heartwarming and wonderful romance and I can’t wait for more in this series!
A wonderful start to this new series written by author Jennifer Bernard!
Mine Until Moonrise, is an Alaskan romance between a woman trying to “escape” and start over, and a man who is struggling to get answers and has been thrown into trying to continue his deceased father’s fishing boat company.
There are so many wonderful things the author has written into this story…from her intelligent daughter, to the nature aspect, to PTSD, to death…it has a bit of everything! I love the banter between Lucas and Megan in this first book in the Lost Harbor series and look forward to the next book in the series!
Welcome to Lost Harbor, Alaska! Newly divorced mom, Megan Miller, arrives in Lost Harbor in search of a new start for her and her gifted daughter. After having a life altering experience, Megan seeks peace. Shortly after arriving in Lost Harbor, Megan purchases a sightseeing tour boat that’s in desperate need of repairs. But she enjoys people and birds, so she eagerly tries to make her business a success. After all, her daughter is depending on her. What she doesn’t enjoy is the handsomely, cocky Lucas…
Lucas has returned to Lost Harbor for one reason, to settle his dad’s affairs. Lucas never wanted to run his dad’s business and left Lost Harbor to escape his dad’s abusive, drunk ways. Lucas wants nothing more than to return to Colorado and his successful business…until he meets Megan.
Lucas and Megan’s chemistry is sizzling! I loved their witty banter as well. Lucas is super sweet and kind with Ruby. Lucas’ struggle confronting his demons was so realistic, I felt as though I was right there with him. Megan’s interactions with her ex were spot on! As a divorced, single mom I identified with the stress of going through mediation. That is NOT a fun process! The possibility of losing custody of your child, that you would die for, is gut wrenching! Jennifer Bernard nailed it with her new series. Truly enjoyable read! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Mine Until Moonrise is the first book in Jennifer Bernard’s new series set in Lost Harbor, Alaska. Full of fun, quirky characters, humor, chemistry, and beautiful scenery, this one does not disappoint. There is a bit of interesting town mythology thrown in. This is a fun and quick (well, for me, since I devoured it) read by an author who knows how to write novels that will make you laugh and leave you wanting more.
Bernard’s books have become those that I drop everything and work them in as quickly as possible. The only downside to that strategy is having to wait for the next one.

I greatly enjoyed Mine Until Moonrise partly because it is so well written and partly because of the cast of characters. Jennifer Bernard has admiringly and vividly written about Alaska, a state that she clearly loves. The wildlife and scenery comes alive, so much so that you can almost feel how cold that water gets. You’ll adore the characters through their stubborness, the banter is great, and through their eventual passion for one another. I can’t wait to read more about this small town in Alaska, and its residents, in future books.
I read an advanced copy of this book
Great start to a new series!
Jennifer Bernard is back with a new series set in her beloved home state, Alaska!
Megan is trying to start over with her daughter but she’s not afraid to speak her mind in the processes. Lucas is home to pick up the pieces of his dead father’s life and he’s not really interested in the newcomer’s thoughts…until he’s interested in whole lot more than her thoughts.
I really love Bernard’s writing style. It’s fast paced with the perfect blend of humor, heart, and steam.
I can’t wait to visit Lost Harbor again soon!
I received a complimentary review copy of this book but all opinions are my own.
This book has it all. There was sizzling romance, intrigue, mystery, and even an ex-husband. I was hooked right away by the author. The banter between Megan Miller and Lucas Holt was priceless and really added to the story. I kept reading to find out what happened to Lucas’ dad and what happened to bring Megan and her daughter, Ruby to Lost Harbor, Alaska from San Francisco. It was amazing to see her strength as her character grew in the story. I grew to admire her.
I also enjoyed the sizzling sparks that grew between Megan and Lucas and how that added a lot of fun to the story as they tried to deny that that is why they had so many arguments. They each wanted to get the last word in.
The other characters in the story were interesting too and I cannot wait to read about their stories in future books in this brand new series. This story also made me want to visit Alaska. It sounds like such a beautiful place with fun coves and interesting wildlife. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
The first book in a series that introduces us to the residents of Lost Harbor, Alaska and features the breathtaking and pristine beauty of Alaska. The author treats the setting just like another “character” in the story and I quickly felt like I could picture the town and what it felt like to be out on a boat in the harbor. Megan and her precocious daughter Ruby are new to town and most of the locals don’t quite know what to make of their new boat owner and all the ideas she proposes to improve their little town. Fishing boat captain Lucas and Megan clash from the very start because his laidback manner makes Megan feel like he’s disingenuous and dismissive. I liked the small town atmosphere and was impressed by how quickly they jump to her aid when a crisis occurs and Megan and Ruby desperately need their help. You’re going to love this book!

Mine Until Moonrise is book 1 in the new series Lost Harbor, Alaska by Jennifer Bernard and what a great start!
Megan Miller, scientist, mother of a child prodigy comes to Lost Harbor to start a new life for herself and her daughter following a horrific trauma at her former job. Now she owns a natures tour business and is feuding with big charter captain Lucas Holt…
Lucas Holt returns home to Lost Harbor after the death of his father, hoping to settle his father’s affairs, sell the “Jack Hammer” and return back to the lower to his business Colorado, except he thinks something is fishy about his father’s death. He is trying to find out more information to the detriment of the local detective and feuding with the nature tours new owner and resident Megan Miller among other things… that is until the storm changes the course of their relationship…
Can these to find a way to coexist with business, keep tempers under control and not let the sparks ignite or will the legend of “Lost Souls” be what opens their hearts to the wonders of love!!
Ever since I learned that Jennifer Bernard lives in Alaska, I was hoping she would set a series there. All of her books weave the location into the story in a way that almost makes it feel like a character in itself. Megan moved to Alaska with her too smart for her age daughter, looking for a change and to escape a painful past, but she wasn’t prepared for what was in store for her in Lost Harbor. Lucas Holt returned home to deal with some family issues and wasn’t expecting to find a new nemesis in Megan Miller. I loved the friendly banter and teasing between the two which just amped up the sexual tension. Add in a cast of local characters, an adorable otter and the unique environment of Lost Harbor, Mine Until Moonrise is a story you can’t put down. I can’t wait to learn more about this community and it’s inhabitants in the rest of the series.
