I loved looooved loved this story!!! Luke and Sophie were absolutely the cutest ever!! It was a fantastic second chance romance!!! I can’t wait till there’s more books by Aubrie Lee One click author for sure!!!
Why does the blurb mention a child that isn’t confirmed to be Sophie’s until 39%? Yes, we don’t even get confirmation that Sophie even has a child until 39%! When Sophie sees Luke again, I understand her not confessing to him, but then she went on and dated him and never even mentioned being the woman he was with in that library. That doesn’t add up with a woman who tried to tell him she was pregnant but couldn’t find him. Sophie’s secrecy makes no sense and the storyline with Monica is confusing, bizarre, and also doesn’t make sense.
This is a new author for me. Someone recommended this book and I really enjoyed it. I had no idea this was her first book. It is a nice slightly steamy second chance romance that has me wanting to read the next book in the series. Let me put it this way the only way i know that she was so new at publishing was i went looking for the second book as soon as I finished this one and I was told it wasn’t Out in the Wild yet. Take a chance on this new author and I do not think you will be disappointed at all.
Sophie was a wild girl in college and Luke was a football playboy. Their one night together was memory to be rekindled when the pair met again five years later. Who knew what surprises Luke would be in for when he stepped into Sophie’s bakery to pick up a last minute lemon cake? And will Sophie be able ignore Monica, Luke’s ex, as well share her secret with him?
This is a sweet little novella that has an HEA, but does include characters that you will see in future writing. Fun story!
Mine, Baby is the first book in the Rules of Love series by Aubrie Lee. This secret baby, second chance romance is a quick, steamy and sweet read. Sophie and Luke are great characters and I truly enjoyed thier journey.

Sophie and Luke knew each other years ago when they were teenagers and had hooked up before going their separate ways. Now years later as Sophie is starting her bakery business Luke comes in to get a cake for him and his current girlfriend for their anniversary. Sophie waits but he doesn’t remember her which hurts because she’s never forgotten him. When his relationship ends he finds himself back at the bakery and drawn to Sophie. Will Sophie tell him that she knows them about their past? Will Luke give them a second chance at something more?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
Sophie and Luke had a night years ago now she is running her bakery and in he walks for an anniversary cake for him and his woman , he doesn’t remember her and she is hurt but then his woman breaks up with him and he keeps being pulled to Sophie , I love second chance books and this one was awesome
Luke and Sophie get a second chance, when Luke remembers who she is!! A great story, though it did take him a while to remember Sophie, it was still good. A quick read with lots of heat between the main characters. What will happen when the secrets come out?? A great debut novel for this author!!
Mine, Baby is a second chance, surprise baby story. It’s sweet and heartwarming. It has a bit of heartache because of decisions that were made for others. Sophie and Luke are instantly attracted to each other and that spark has never gone away. The writing is good, and the story line is real. Great story told in dual points of view that can be read in one sitting.
Ok, so I have tried to write this review so many times and each times seems harder and harder. So I’m just going to do word vomit. This was a cute read. It was mildly steamy compared to some books I read and I liked the bather. It was also very fast paced. Being that this author was new to me, I found that I wasn’t too keen on some of the internal dialogue. I’m not saying it wasn’t good….. it just didn’t hook me. I wanted Luke to be more of an alpha. I thought he would be, but after a few chapters, he wasn’t and while I’m ok with that, it just wasn’t what I was expecting.
Slight SPOILER so be warned
So in the blurb, at the end, it talks about how Sophie is carrying with his child….. when I read that, it made me think that this is a surprise pregnancy/accidental baby read, and that it was going to happen fairly early and I was disappointed to see that we go through the whole book before that even happened. I mean, ugh. It was the main draw to me for this book and then I was let down. This has nothing to do with the authors writing, the story, or anything like that…. just my personal wants when I read the blurb and what I believed was going to happen and it didn’t happen.
Also, There were times that the characters made it seem like that had been in talks for a lot longer then the story seemed. I couldn’t really pinpoint many time jumps between chapters but I found my self rolling my eyes when it seemed longer. This is my quark but I wish that things were more noticeable. Maybe even some chapter headers with the time jumps. They had been together on like 2 occasions and bam it was friends for a few months….. that just doesn’t work for me as a reader.
There were some twists to the story that I pretty much guessed from the start and once we learned about those I was very engrossed in the story and finished it quickly. I’m not going to say that I agreed with everything in this book, but the author made the characters cases strong. Some things just didn’t add up for me when I was reading. Even with that, I would be willing to try another book by this author in the future. 3 stars #2OCCJD
