Tessa was prepared for the hurricane. Lindsey was the storm she didn’t see coming. When Tessa Taylor unlocked her husband Ethan’s iPad to discover nude photos from a twenty-six-year-old bombshell named Lindsey, her seemingly perfect life came to a screeching halt. With a hurricane barreling toward Florida and Ethan stuck on a business trip, Tessa finds herself imprisoned in her own home with a … imprisoned in her own home with a choice to make: Does she ride out the storm until she can confront Ethan in person, or does she take matters into her own hands?
Increasingly restless and desperate for revenge, Tessa resolves to act. And when she lures Lindsey over a few hours later, there’s no turning back.
What ensues is a battle of wills between two well-matched opponents, blinded by love for the same man but driven by demons of their own. Like storm-ravaged Florida, neither woman will be the same when the skies clear.
He’s mine. Both wife and mistress would stake their lives on it. But only one of them can be right.

Mine had me hooked from the very beginning. As you watch life start to unravel for Tessa you feel every emotion that she is going through. I love Tessa. She takes you places where you aren’t sure if she can come back to being the sweet person she is. But you understand why once you meet Lindsey. Sometimes you want to feel sorry for Lindsey but once you realize the back story and how it all started you realize you just may be team Tessa all the way. This book will bring out some raw emotions and what would you do to try to save what is yours. Mine is a book that needs to be picked up. I really couldn’t put this one down and was glued to the pages from the start. I love what Courtney Cole brings to the pages and how she just makes you feel everything Tessa is going through. 4 1/2 stars
Tessa has been cruising through her life, running her successful cosmetic company, taking care of her three teenagers and generally going with the flow of life. Her marriage to Ethan is solid… at least she thinks so until she finds evidence of Ethan’s affair.
Shocked, upset and sequestered in her house during a storm, Tessa loses it and manages to get Ethan’s girlfriend to come over and handcuff herself to the bed. Really. Tessa proceeds to grill Lindsey about the relationship she had with Ethan and it’s not pretty. Mine is a story of anger and betrayal and any woman who has gone through this will identify with so much of this story. I’m not sure how it works for someone who’s never experienced this sort of pain.
Lindsey’s story is told in parallel with what is going on in the present. It’s a very interesting way of telling the overall story and I really liked the alternating chapters. It would have been so easy to paint Ethan with broad brush strokes, but giving some page time to Ethan and Lindsey together helped to show how he lived two lives and essentially betrayed both his wife and his lover. But this really isn’t a story about him but more a tale of these two women.
Overall, I liked this story. The pace is terrific, drawing in the reader right from the start. I gobbled it down in a day and while some woman may find this topic triggering, I thought Courtney Cole nailed the shock and betrayal of finding out that the person you trusted isn’t the person you thought. So good story, great emotional content. I did have a few issues with some of the details that were a bit of a stretch of the imagination. They didn’t wreck my enjoyment of the story, but I’m sort of a stickler for details being believable, so that’s why I have to give this four and 1/2 stars instead of five. Your mileage may vary as they say.

Mine by Courtney Cole was such a captivating read full of suspense, secrets, lies and retribution. From the first word to the very last, I was drawn into this story. While a storm is brewing outside, inside it is even crazier. Tessa Taylor is married and happy. Then she finds out her husband, Ethan, has been unfaithful with a beautiful and younger woman, Lindsey. Devasted, she wants answers and revenge.
This story was wild, heartbreaking, full of twists and sordid characters. Both woman love Ethan, but he is not really the man either imagine. Mine by Courtney Cole was such an intense and emotional story and then I read a note from the author and I realized why this story was captivating from the start, it was personal in many ways for her which gave her readers an unforgettable story.
Read and reviewed for Review From The Heart.
Happy reading!
What a remarkable emotional journey from start to finish! I thought the author did a fantastic job of shining a light on the fears of many married women. I loved the counterpoint of the storm raging outside that paralleled the one inside Tessa’s house. There were quite a few good twists, including the way that the author handled the alternating viewpoints of Tessa and Lindsay. I thought there was a part with one of Tessa’s children that had the potential to be more, but kind of went nowhere, and that the book ended rather abruptly. But overall, it was an excellent read, and I highly recommend it. Check my blog at Fireflies and Free Kicks Fiction Reviews for some other thoughts on the story. Thank you to Gallery Books (via NetGalley) for the opportunity to read a complimentary digital ARC of this book.
So, what happens when the wife and the mistress collide into each other during a category four hurricanes on the Florida coast? MINE happens.
Outstanding from the first page. MINE is an addictive story that took hold of my heart and mind. I read this book in less than two days. There were times that my whole body was shaking, knowing that this type of betrayal can happen in any marriage.
I love the way Courtney Cole writes. Her words jump off the page, and this book is no exception. The story is a constant flow of psychological tension between two women, Tessa the wife and Lindsey the mistress, who are both in love with the same man, Ethan. The story is told from a dual point of view, going between Tessa and Lindsey, allowing the reader to get both sides of the story. There is drama, infidelity, revenge, and heartbreak. Betrayal on so many levels that it made my head spin. Also, even some twists I didn’t see coming.
The author’s character development was painstakingly perfect. Allowing the reader to get to know the characters and watch them gradually develop when they are both confronted with events they never saw coming. I have to say that I could realistically befriend the Tessa character. She was a wonderful mother, wife, and successful businesswoman, but the essential part of her life was the love she had for her family. Lindsey was a pathetic piece of work; there were times I wanted to smack her. Right. Across. The. Face. I went between hating her and pitying her — the kind of character you love to hate. Ethan, the lying, cheating husband, I only have one word that describes him, scumbag.
MINE is a book that will have every married woman checking her husband’s phone. Also, every mistress wondering if “he” is worth it.

First off, the cover of this book intrigued me for sure. Then the description made me open the book, well let me tell you, I started the book and had it 80% done in one sitting, I then finished it up the next night.
This is the classic story of a man who betrays his wife and has an affair with a much younger woman. What isn’t classic is what happens in the story. We learn about the wife Tessa and the mistress Lindsey. The reader is able to follow the story of one man’s infidelity and supposed love for his mistress.
Tessa is a high powered woman with a successful business, three children and a marriage that she is happy in. Lindsey is a twenty-something woman with a young child that lives with her mother. She is going to school but really has nothing else going for her. She meets Ethan and thus the affair starts.
There is a hurricane hurtling toward Florida, Ethan is away in New York, the kids are away so Tessa plans her revenge. She persuades, in the guise of Ethan, Lindsey to come to their home. Saying more would give away too much of the story.
That said, I can’t believe how fast I was able to read this book. That does not happen very often lately, usually takes me a while to read a book. From the first page until the last, I was hooked. The story just flowed so well for me and the story of a woman who has a husband who cheats on her, I also had this happen to me so I could relate, is so believable and with the book focusing mostly on Tessa and Lindsey, it is a page-turner. I loved it!
Love psychological thrillers? Then you have to go get this book!

Mine by Courtney Cole is a story about every married woman’s nightmare. What would you do if you found out your husband is having an affair??
How far would you go to find out the truth and to get answers??
This is a story in Dual female POV. We get the wife and the mistress’s POV while reading this story.
Mine is a standalone novel about a woman… Tessa, who finds out that her husband has been having an affair with a 26 years old….Lindsey. This story is told from both of their POV’s, so you get into the mind of the wife and the woman who is mistress. I thought writing this story like that was perfect. I think having it told this way gives every reader the insight to both sides of the story.
This story is unlike anything I have ever read. This is definitely NOT a romance story. I don’t know what it says about me, that I gave this book 5 stars, but I couldn’t put it down. Once I started this story I was immersed in both Tessa’s and Lindsey’s life. This story is truly captivating. Truly this book is what I hate the most about reading a book with cheating in it. Now don’t get me wrong, this book isn’t like a normal romance story with the Hero or heroine cheating. This is a raw and real account of what both the wife and mistress go through.
I don’t really know what else to say in this review. Just give this book a try, I think you will find it interesting. It truly is thought provoking. How would you handle this situation?? I know that’s the question that ran through my head throughout the whole story.
Tessa thought her and her husband were about to embark on a much needed little getaway, but then her husband calls last minute to change their plans, just as a hurricane is hitting outdoors. With the storm brewing, their children already away for the weekend, she begins to poke around the house a bit and runs across her husbands iPad, and a little secret he has been keeping from her. One that she never saw coming, one that leaves her reeling and wanting a little revenge, and a whole lot of answers! Her husband has a mistress and she is about to put a plan in motion that could change everything…
With a storm raging outside, these two women are thrust together to weather an deeply emotional storm of sorts indoors, and things quickly get out of control!
Mine is a dramatic little page-turner that is riddled with unexpected twists and turns that will leave your head spinning. The moment I cracked the cover on this one I felt an addiction settle over me, one that lead me on a little late night reading marathon. I was so engrossed with the words on the pages that I momentarily forgot about the world around me, and wound up devouring it in one sitting!! This one will push your personal boundaries, make you question everything you read, and have you teetering on the edge of your seat the whole way through! If you like domestic suspense novels then this one will be right up your alley, it’s perfectly crafted words will unravel your emotions, steal the breath from your lungs, and leave you saying WOW!! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Lies, betrayal, drama, and heartbreak are all masterfully woven into this psychological thriller that has the wife confronting the mistress in the middle of a major hurricane. It’s a fast read as I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. Is it realistic? I’d say half of it is a no, but it sure was entertaining to read. Tess does what every betrayed wife usually fantasizes to do. Mine is an interesting, fast-paced book that is told from both women’s POV (the wife and the mistress). The dual perspectives on the affair really makes the story and I liked how each were portrayed. The emotion was real, raw, and sometimes frightening.

At 40 Tessa has the perfect life until she unlocks her husbands ipad and finds nude photos of a much younger Lindsey on there, Tessa sees red. With a strong hurricane barreling towards Florida, Tessa is home alone while her husband Ethan is away on business. Her children Ava and Connor are with her parents and her oldest Colt is away at college. It was supposed to be a romantic weekend for her and her husband but he gets delayed at work another day. Tessa decides to get Lindsey to her house to confront her. Then comes the twists and turns in this book you won’t soon forget.
I have to say I was going to lay down read a little and hope for a little nap. Lets just say once I started reading this I couldn’t put it down and read the whole thing. Not only did I like this book, it is very interesting and kept my attention. Please look for this review on Good Reads, Amazon, and Bookbub. This book will be published May 28th 2019.
Looking forward to a romantic weekend without the kids around, Tessa rushes from her parents home to prepare for plans with her husband. Unbeknownst to Tessa was the hurricane that changed course and was headed straight for her neighborhood. To add further insult to injury, a phone call from Ethan would further dampen Tessa’s spirit on her way to their shared home. Ethan needed to remain on a business trip, which would prevent him from partaking in their weekend rendezvous.
During the hurricane prep, Tessa found something on Ethan’s iPad that would forever change her life. A string of messages and photos that Ethan was actively participating in would reveal a life that Tessa never knew existed. The husband that Tessa devoted her life to was having an affair with a much younger woman. Nothing could have prepared Tessa for the devastation of that discovery.
Desperate to uncover the details to this sordid affair, Tessa decides to take matters into her own hands. Luring the mistress into her home was a split decision. Once Lindsey stepped foot into Tessa’s home, there was no turning back from obtaining the information that Tessa so desperately sought. With a battle of wills and the need to uncover what game Ethan was playing, Tessa knows that this storm is the turning point in a war that she may never win.
Mine is an over the top thriller from author Courtney Cole that will pull you in from the very first chapter!! A roller coaster ride of emotions that will leave you so vested in the characters that you can’t put it down. Imagine discovering that your husband is unfaithful. What would you feel? How would you deal with the revelation? For Tessa – the secret led to a split second decision that would change the course of her future. A glimpse into the life that her husband was leading right under Tessa’s nose.
What I found absolutely amazing about Mine was just how realistic the story plot felt to me. Courtney Cole delves into the animalistic nature of humans, while uncovering a reality that so many individuals face within a marriage. The anger, vengeance, and struggle for dominance between two women that love the same man was so captivating!! Simply said….I couldn’t get enough!! Who will come out on top in this struggle to see who Ethan will pick in the end? Only time will tell how this struggle will unfold.
It’s really rare for me to read a book in one sitting these days. Especially if I don’t start said book until 8:30 PM on a work night. But that is exactly what I did with Mine.
I’ve been a little obsessed with infidelity books lately, a huge departure from the me of a few years ago. I used to shun them completely. Now, I can’t get enough. I think I’m constantly on the search for a better understanding of why people cheat and why some stay.
There are a couple of large differences between Mine and many of the others I’ve read.
The main difference – Mine is written in alternating points of view. Not between husband and wife, as you might expect. One view is the wife’s, Tessa, in present. While the second is the timeline overview from the mistress, Lindsey.
I truly loved this. It gives so much insight to a woman who has a relationship with a married man and most stories completely lack that.
The other difference was that the husband, Ethan, while the catalyst for the story as a whole…really plays such a small part. It’s truly not his story. It’s the story of his wife and his mistress when the affair all comes crashing into the open. It’s the story of how they deal with the fallout. Mine is an anxiety ridden story of how two women survive one man’s actions, deceptions and lies.
This really is quite a quick read without an overload of emotional grip, unfortunately. I would have liked to have more of a connection with Tessa, especially. Most of my emotion came from disliking characters and actions rather than from any kind of empathy.
Another point I should make in closing, the ending was also uniquely done and keeps to that feel of it not being Ethan’s story. I found it rather fitting and allows for the reader to really speculate on their own emotions and feelings rather than just on the characters. This one is worth a read.
