Fun reading. Interesting characters.
I loved this book! Rational, gentle, kind and non-apocalyptic sci fi. Really very sweet and yet provocative. Definitely will read the next in the series. Fascinating!
I wanted to finish it but toward the end it was getting a little repetitive. It has more in the series and I’ll probably read them.
Did not like it at all
This book is a very confusing mix. It is very engaging… but very, very slow moving. It could have been great, but failed at several critical points.
One particular thing that I would point out is that the math is completely wrong. In order for the galaxy to be successfully populated, the average woman would have to be producing at least 2.2 offspring… as in offspring that mainly live to adulthood themselves. Now in your ordinary YA novel this mistake (which is often made) merely reflects modern prejudice and ignorance. However in this non-romance romance between two people that couldn’t possibly produce children, it is a fatal flaw.
Lucid tender science fiction story in which college roommates forge a friendship across racial and cultural divides. Our heros are realistic, thoughtful, courteous, well rounded. The details of word choice, character’s diction, their interior and exterior development are simply delightful. Is it worth a potential future mourning to have a present full of friendship and affection? A template for life indeed.
A story about non-humans. This universe has humans as a founder of many different races of people – but that’s not the story. The story is about two individuals of two different races; one is of a secretive race, the other is an outgoing personality type of race. They get jumbled together as dorm mates and navigate medical school together. There is no romance here – they are close buddies. Since this takes place at a medical university, there are moments of tears. But more interesting is how the two dorm mates interact and learn about their wildly diverse races and grow. A fun and easy read, with only a few moments of real ethical discussion. The two main characters are well rounded and interesting. There are many minor characters which are given some interesting attributes, but none are fully fleshed out as individuals. There are two additional books in this group, which I have not yet read.
About friendship of two males of different species. Over done, boring.
Everyone who loves Sci-Fi the way I do, should read the Dreamhealers Series. This Series world is galactic-sized, with enormous futuristic variables, yet scientific to the core, but it still has characters you like and are interested in. And you can go on and on with novel after novel with these characters and enjoy every minute you are reading about them and their world.
An excellent series for which the author M.C.A. Hogarth should win many awards as far as I am concerned. None of that medieval Kings and Courtiers crap many novelists write about under the guise of Science Fiction/Fantasy. Science Fiction is just that and no more: Science and Fiction. Keep it simple, but complex and engaging with wonderfully interesting characters you get to know and want to learn more about.
i love these books. They have solid character development, it’s story line a journey rather than goal. The goals have a habit of changing and the main players right along with them. Well done you.
slow paced
Enjoy the story and would like to get the rest but not right now.
boring. couldn’t finish.
I liked the way that two extremely different characters could be able too love each other!
I was sucked into the unusual universe of two individuals that paired up to become more than either individual. The first book was part of a promotion and all of a sudden I was reading the fourth book.
Should be required reading for anyone considering a career in nursing or medicine. I’m a nurse, and everything is spot-on.
Full of interesting animalistic humans, the maincharacters are unlike any I have read. While science fiction, the basic story could easily be written using two humans and still be a heart warming story
Very unusual. Enjoyed it immensely. Bought the rest of the series after finishing the first installment.
This is a little book with a lot of heart. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Good book, but over priced for young adult demi-graghics.
