Sweet, poignant, fun, and extremely well-written, too. Wonderful book. Wonderful series.
This book drew me into a world of many different cultures and species and showed how they interact to support, help, love and encourage one another. I like science fiction that makes you think, makes you chuckle, has great adventures, beauty and love. Mind you, there were also tearful scenes and some violence. I liked that it impacted me on so many different levels. I couldn’t put the book down, and then when I came to the end, I purchased another of the author’s books, then another, then another…. It has been very nice to inhabit another universe during this time of the Coronavirus, especially since I was home, sick with a cold, and very isolated. Also, the book shows that while life may be difficult at times, there can still be joy, love, and laughter. The book also illustrates the value of friends and family and how important it is to support one another. The main character in this book is a doctor, and in one part of the book, he saves a lot of lives — just as our medical people are saving so many lives now.
Wonderful characters from other worlds connecting in ways that you can only imagine! Wonderful picturesque lands come to life within you imagination. This book will leave you in tears! Wanting more!
I loved the descriptive language, and the interaction between the main characters. The author has a profound knowledge of language. I learned a number of new words and was thankful that I could look up the meanings. Great story about love and friendship and the importance of communication.
An unusual story line. It was slow going a few times but still kept me reading. A story of universal friendships and caring from those that are different from you.
Wow!! I had to get the other two books, and I finished them as well.
Unusual but engaging.
Loved it, ended up getting the entire series.
Wonderful character sad at times when children are sick or dying , but very beautiful and believable.
It is so nice to find an author who can write well!
MUST READ for Sci-Fantasy lovers
Great but can’t find the next one in library or free on line can’t afford to buy books anymore
The writer reminds me of Anne McCaffrey — with the ability to make the reader believe in strange alien creatures.
Fun and innocent development of the friendship between individuals of different species and backgrounds. I enjoyed it thoroughly!
cross species friendship at its best! and age old lessons from family and friends.
It has so much to offer. I’m not the sort who hunts for inspirational books, but I had to stop and reread sections because they were profound. The author is brilliant. The characters are real. MORE!
i just had a real hard time stopping reading, had a couple of REALLY late dinners. Am looking forward to read more in the series.
MCA Hogarth has an amazing talent that can conceive a universe that contains stories of loving gentleness and terrible darkness. Mindtouch is one of the gentle stories in her Pelted universe. However, the characters and the world(s) they inhabit are full, realistic and enjoyable to visit.
This is a beautiful, gentle and loving story about two aliens who form a bond of friendship neither expected was possible. They are in graduate school studying different paths in psychiatry and are trying to find their way. It’s heartwarming and completely different from anything I’ve ever read. Normally, when a book ends in a cliffhanger, I would lambaste the author. In this case, I knew it was part of the story arc and that I would have to/want to read the rest. Based on the reviews of the rest of the series, it will be worth it.
I absolutely loved this book! I had some hesitation when choosing it, wondering if it would be a little more than I could handle. I’m so glad I chose to read it; it’s a treasure in my book library and highly recommend it and the one that follows, as well.
