She was created for a purpose so revolutionary, someone was willing to kill for it.
Seventeen-year-old Lexi Matthews keeps two secrets from her elite boarding school classmates — she’s the daughter of a famous and controversial geneticist, and she can influence people’s thoughts.
But after new student Jack DeWeese heals her broken arm with an anything-but-simple touch, he forces Lexi to face … forces Lexi to face a new reality — her abilities reach much further than speaking to the minds of others.
After Lexi’s father goes missing and she receives threatening emails, she can’t decide whether to fall into Jack’s arms or run and hide.
As Lexi seeks answers to what she and Jack are, she discovers a truth more unsettling than anything her science books can teach. And letting Jack into her life of secrets is not only a threat to her very existence, but it just might break her heart wide open.

Fun young adult fiction. Really felt connected to the characters. Creative character development and unique premise. Really enjoyed the book… ended on a cliff hanger, so immediately downloaded book 2. Enjoyed that as well.
I had this book on my ereader for a long time. I think now I must have been saving it–LOL. One weekend I was bored and looking for something different. YA is not my normal choice for fun when my reading time is so limited, but I wanted a book with some adventure in it. What happened was that I finished the first book and immediately bought the …
An enjoyable and interesting read, despite a bit of sameness during the middle of the book where the romance fell into a pattern of “Do I really trust him?” and a rather slow revealing of Lexi’s secrets. There was a bit of editing needed on tenses—it was written in past tense but on occasion the narrative would slip into present tense; it wasn’t …
This book was AMAZING, it kept me up all night reading. I couldn’t put it down!!
Captivating
The story itself was interesting. I found some of the plot line to be a little unbelievable, and the writing a little repetitive. I found myself skimming through great chunks of the writing in order to finish the book.
This is a coming-of-age suspense novel with sci-fi and paranormal elements and, at 398 pages, a serious time commitment. It kept me up past my bedtime for almost two weeks. It is also the first book in a series. I read an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
Loved it! I’m ready for more!
I loved how they had so many unforeseen twists and turns to keep you reading
Very interesting book. I love stories about discovering hidden talents and this one delivered with twists and turns that was riveting
Easy to read type book
The characters are believable and the story line possible. This book makes me want to keep reading and avoid responsibilities!! I had to buy the next book!
This is yet another a-maz-ing book that BookBub has recommended me, this is honestly one that I couldn’t wait to read the ending. I’m waiting to get the series!
This was a hard one to put down. I am eager to buy the next book to see what happens.
I loved Mindspeak! I normally don’t buy the next books in a series, but will from this book.
A great read. Somewhat of a sci-fi mystery with a hint of romance.
It has been a while since I have read such a great book. Struggled to it down, but when I did, I found myself rushing to get back to it. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series to see the plot unflold!
My new favorite series. I am always looking for interesting plots and characters that you care about and can’t wait to see what happens next. I like to root for the underdog and love when good triumphs over evil.
I enjoyed the strong female character and the adventure.
Great book. I could not put it down. It ended with a cliff hanger so I immediately bought the next book in the series!
