Six years ago Mina and Everett began dating. They moved into sexual relationship and fell in love but it was built like a house of cards ready to crumble at the first sign of real trouble. And crumble it did because neither one of them communicated openly and honestly with one another. Now six years later she’s back with an understanding of who he is and what she wants out of a relationship with him. Now she has two days to prove to him just how serious she is. He has the same time to test and push her to her limits.
This was one of those reads that you end up immersed in the world and time passes and you don’t realize it has. Mina and Ever fascinated me, they drew me into their thoughts, their feelings, and even when they weren’t on the same wavelength, I could agree with both of them for what they did and why
The story starts in the now, and quickly moves to the then. We get the entire relationship, from when they met, until the ultimate demise, 6 years ago. This is the bulk of the book, and it is heartbreaking from the start. As much as I sometimes don’t like second chance stories, this one was so appropriate as the characters needed time to grow up, find themselves, and mature. As we work through Mina and Ever’s point of view, they are less than honest with the other about the fears, thoughts, and feelings they have. Mina tries at times, but Ever is so determined that he knows, that he really doesn’t look any further than the surface. He doesn’t share, he doesn’t dig, and he isn’t honest about himself. Mina hides as well, her fear, her insecurities, and her worries.
While both characters are devoted and in love with each other, they live what they think the other wants and aren’t true to themselves. This works for a while, but them it all implodes spectacularily. While Mina takes stock of her life, and learns from her mistakes, Ever stews and bemoans that she left and broke his heart. When Mina returns, there is no doubt who has re-evaluated things and who is stuck in the past
But the care is still there, the feelings are still there, and these are both experienced, mature, adults now. Ever quickly sees his part in the failure of their previous relationship, and Mina has learned to speak when things are troubling her. Even with the obstacles in the way, they find themselves, and realize that this is a new beginning for them, and they will get their HEA
Mina’s and Ever’s story is amazing!
I knew their story would be coming after they were touched upon in the first book of this series – Wanting Wilder. I was not disappointed in it either. This is a love story with some kink that almost did not happen. I loved their connection from the very start but both had some issues issues that held parts of themselves back from each other. That almost destroyed their relationship…but thanks to second chances, they were able to get their HEA.
You do not have to read the first book in the series to enjoy this one, but it helps. If you like hot, steamy and kinky reads with two great characters you will most likely love this book. I was actually sorry to see it end.

I absolutely loved reading Mina’s Heart by Michele Zurlo. It was well written and had a great premise that kept me turning pages. The characters felt real and the author gave them situations that make them shine.

Zurlo strokes again. Once upon a time Mina and Everett fell in love. Mina has a lot of baggage from her childhood, but she was coping with Ever’s dominance. Then because of a miscommunication, it was over. Ever knew he shouldn’t have lied to her, but he loved her and he was afraid of scaring her off. He thought he knew what was best for her. The basis of a good BDSM relationship is communication knowing that the master’s behavior is based on the sub’s wants and fears. This is what builds trust and Mina and Ever never had that, but now there’s a possibility they can try again. Hopefully they’ll do it right this time. So good and very moving.
