I love Lily’s writing. Whenever I need a pick-me-up, I always turn to her books. They’re fresh and funny, and her characters are so distinct and real in the best way.
SWOON! In Oz, Lily Morton introduced us to Niall and Milo individually and teased at a future relationship. In Milo, that relationship comes to fruition with Lily’s signature wit. I fell in love with Milo before the end of the prologue and with Niall shortly afterward. Each time I thought one of these lovely men was now my favorite, the other would do something to win me back to him and in the end, I have to say I love them both equally. I will definitely read this book again! You could read this without reading Oz first, but don’t do that to yourself. Ideally start with the Mixed Messages series, then Oz, then Milo.
** Some readers who tend to like life and their romances with clean edges and no messy overlaps may have an issue with the relationship between Niall and Milo’s brother, Gideon. I didn’t. But then I like things messy.**
I received an advance copy of this book, but will buy it like I have all of Lily Morton’s other books.
I adored Milo!! This was a such a fun and sweet read. From meeting Milo in Oz, I was sure he was a meek and sweet man, and he is quite feisty like Oz and I quite liked that. Niall was totally not what I expected and I was happy for it. I expected him to be aloof and have a complete disregard for Milo’s budding feelings, but really it was the opposite in some regards, as he fell first. Milo had just fallen a long time ago. I really enjoyed how they got together and just stayed together. No breakups in this one!! I loved Oz and Silas and I was happy to meet Gideon. I really cannot wait to read his book as well. Then you get sweet Cora. It was a just a very sweet and sort of fluffy read. I loved it. Joel Leslie did a fantastic job on the narration as well.
A stunningly beautiful, sweet and at times, hilarious story. Some hurt/comfort elements and a wonderous journey between two men who have to go a long way to find themselves so they can realise who they truly are so they become the pair they need to be. A very insightful book full of moments where the reader gasps, cheers and sobs for the characters as if they are part of ourselves. I think this is the tenderest book in the series and I simply adore it.
Great Narration, great story. This book covers some sensitive issues, but in a way that you want to know everything.

Another great story by Lily, humour, warmth, great characters, issues which are handled well.
We meet Milo, who was a side character in book one, he has a recent past that includes abuse.
Nial rescues Milo and rakes him to Chi an Mor in Cornwall. This is where we met them both in book one.
This book is full of humour, love and a happy ever after.
The narration is funny and light. The accents are great and make the book so much better.
Well worth the read/listen. A must have.
Lily Morton is the queen of snark and banter. This is only the second book I’ve read by her, and it had me laughing out loud and completely wrapped up in the story. This is the second book in the Finding Home series, and although it can be read as a standalone, I highly suggest reading “Oz” first since there are overlapping characters.
Milo is a shy and soft-spoken young man with a painful past. Living and working at the Chi an Mor estate has given him the stability he’s needed to overcome the abuse he suffered at his ex-boyfriend’s hands. Niall, one of the estate managers at Ch an Mor, and a family friend of Milo’s, knows there is so much more to the timid, young man. When an unfortunate accident takes Oz and Silas away from Chi an Mor, Milo and Niall find themselves rooming together while taking care of a baby. This closeness is exactly what they need for a romance to begin to bloom between the two of them.
There were a few plot lines in this book, but they were all well done and interlaced with each other seamlessly. The pacing was well done, and all the events of the book moved naturally from moment to moment. I absolutely adored the character growth that Milo and Niall experienced, and the magnetic attraction they had for each other. There was plenty of snark, clever banter, and really hot and sexy bedroom scenes. There was honestly not one part of this book that I did not look and did not enjoy.
Joel Leslie narrated the audiobook and did superb job, like always. His English accents are incredibly sexy, and each character’s voice was unique and consistent. I’m an American listener, and I had absolutely no trouble following along. The audiobook production was high quality and there were no quality issues that would jar a listener out of the story. In fact, I could barely stop listening to this audiobook because I was so engrossed in the story.
I can’t recommend this book—heck, this entire series—enough. If you want witty dialogue, sexy characters, and tender, heart-melting romance, then this is definitely the book for you.

I am enjoying the Finding Home series. After meeting Milo and Niall in Oz, I was looking forward to their story in this book. It was worth the wait.
The author gives glimpses of Milo’s pain as he slowly comes back into his own after the awful circumstances from years ago. Niall plays a big part in his recovery as he encourages Milo to be who and what he wants to be with no pressure from those around him. I enjoyed watching him blossom, and I enjoyed watching Niall who was watching him blossom. The confusion of both main characters was touching and painful.
The snark and wit kept things at a brisk pace, and the passion that followed was powerful and beautiful.
Silas and Oz are lovely, and entertaining, supporting characters in Milo’s journey to become whole once more. These four characters keep everything interesting.
The author has a gift for bringing humor into harsh storylines, blunting the sharp edges, and making you laugh even as you cry.
The
ir HEA is satisfying, and I look forward to more from this author.
P.S. Last but not least, the cover is beautiful.
This is a book that I was very impatiently waiting for ever since I’d finished Oz. While this book is also a very enjoyable read I didn’t find it as light and funny as the first book in the series. That could easily be due to the characters hæving some very different issues to deal with compared to Oz and Co. However, it is a very good book and very enjoyable as long as the reader isn’t looking for a carbon copy of Oz.
I absolutely adored both Milo and Niall! I loved how these two formed an actual friendship with one another before they became anything more. The added complication of Gideon–Milo’s older brother and Niall’s best friend with occasional benefits–certainly made things more interesting. I know the situation with Niall having been with Gideon before being with Milo may not be everyone’s cup of tea; for the record, Niall and Gideon were not in a relationship nor did they have any sort of commitment to one another, but I get that some may not be comfortable with the idea of one guy having been with two brothers (not at the same time!). This story, though, is worth taking a chance on with the dynamic between Niall and Gideon and Gideon and Milo makes for some engrossing reading.
Lily Morton’s reads do not shy away from angst, which is just one of the reasons I so enjoy reading her books. But the angst isn’t a case of drama for the sake of stirring the pot within the core group of characters. There were a number of moments in the book where I would ask myself what I would have done in the same situation, and I love it when an author gives me something to contemplate rather than me mindlessly reading the text. Milo and Niall were perfectly matched, and I appreciated that their love story wasn’t perfect and that they had their respective issues to overcome. There was a point in the story that I got teary-eyed as they tried to resolve the complexities of their relationship, and weirdly enough, I have a thing for books that make me cry (for the right reasons, of course!). Milo gets five-plus stars, and now I’m all curious as to whose story I shall be waiting for next!
This is a lovely sequel to the series that started with Oz’s story. Niall and Milo have a wonderful relationship that only gets better as they move from friends to lovers. Milo has the most obvious issues to work through to find a way to believe in the love he can have with Niall, but Niall has a few demons of his own. I love Niall’s protective instincts and Milo’s desire to prove he can take care of himself. I love Milo, and I adore everything about Niall.
I won’t rehash the plot. I’ll just say that these characters, along with Oz and Silas, do my heart good. They make me laugh and cry and feel a bit better about the world. The author tells a beautiful story, and she does it in such a way that I am always entranced. I am very hopeful that a certain sad-eyed closet case is the focus of the next book, and I also hope Milo, Niall, Oz, and Silas will be featured as the great support team they are. This is a terrific series!
Love gone wrong can be heartbreaking, but in Milo’s case it was soul-crushing and has left him with scars of all kinds. The one person he wouldn’t want to see him in his misery is the one person who saves him. With the generosity of friends he finds a place to heal and who he’s meant to be. But constantly seeing the man he’s loved for a decade is starting to hurt more than it helps. Except with one unguarded moment he realizes he might not be alone in his feelings. But does Niall see him as the younger brother of his best friend and sometimes-lover who needs saving or are they just for Milo? It’s hard to hope for an equal partnership when all you ever seem to need is to be saved.
Milo was all kinds of sweet and endearing. I ached for his situation and yearned so much for him to see himself as the man who survived, the man with a brilliant talent that was worthy of everything. Toward the end I actually felt he was the stronger of the two men and was so proud of all his progress. There were so many moments of tenderness from Niall that I just knew he’s be the best partner for Milo.
And then we learn of Niall’s true relationship with Gideon, Milo’s older brother. There was way too much time spent on that whole sordid mess that what could have been an immensely fabulous book became cheapened, side-tracked, and less-than. Sad, really.
And here comes the rant……..
(SPOILERS in the rant, so consider yourself warned)
Okay, so, seriously. Why, oh why, Gideon, did you think it was appropriate to throw all that jealousy, bitterness, and sexual reveals on your little brother? Did that, in any world, seem appropriate?! AND NIALL!!!!!!! Really? You’d put up with that because you still love Gideon in a way and also feel bad for not properly ending things with him after he’s already almost ruined your chances with the brother you really want MORE THAN ONCE?! What about that says you’re more committed to Milo than Gideon romantically? Ugh… Gross, inappropriate, and utterly disappointing. Both men disgust me in those moments.
I was so crazy in love with this story until that point and honestly, it was so completely unnecessary. It didn’t move the relationship along, it put an even bigger strain on the sibling relationship, and just made things so cringe-worthy and awkward I wasn’t sure if I could stomach the rest of the book. I mean, I’m glad I did, but I’m so…so…frustrated, saddened, and…disappointed in that whole big chunk of the book. It also makes me incredibly hesitant to read Gideon’s story once it comes around. Sure, he’s most likely to reform, but I’m envisioning a world of hurt for his future partner during their story before he gets his head out of his ass.
…End of rant…
So, needless to say, I had a major issue with something included in this story, but really, overall, this was a sweet book with a few fantastic characters. I’m in love with Silas and Oz and will definitely go read their story. The writing is wonderful and the story itself is a great one. Niall really does love Milo and though his journey to get the right man was fraught with setbacks, their love was hard-won and worth the struggle (the principle of struggle, not that I liked a certain specific struggle they endured). Milo is everything and becomes all that he should be. He is what makes this story wonderful with the romantic resolution coming in a close second. The very end was made of win so I was extremely happy with the bookends of the story, it was just a few chunks in the middle that I had trouble with.
I loved Oz and was really looking forward to Milo’s story. It didn’t disappoint, A sweet, funny fairly quick read. IT was everything I wanted with cuddling!
4.5 stars
Heat Level: 4
I love Nilo! Such a great couple.
I had heard only great things about Lily’s work and I must say it doesn’t disappoint! This was the first story of Lily’s I’ve read and her characters have so much heart you can’t help but love them. Milo is just wonderful and I really enjoyed watching him grow and come back to his sassy, sexy self.
The dynamics between Milo and Niall are so sweet and while Niall is a protector, he protects Milo in a way that helps him heal, grow and eventually fly! I wasn’t a big fan of Gideon and hated him at one point for how he was deliberately provoking Milo. They have an interesting relationship and in the end, I think there is a lot more to Gideon than we’re led to believe and I can’t wait to unravel the mystery and sadness behind his eye’s in Lily’s next book! She’s created a wonderful world of love, hope, and healing and I can’t wait to go back and real Oz’s story. Milo and Niall are wonderful and I hope we see more of them and Oz and Silas in all of the future Finding Home books! Loved it!!

This author has such an appealing smoothness to her writing style that never fails to draw me in, and that was certainly the case with Milo. The second standalone in the Finding Home series, Milo held up to all my expectations- interesting characters, a sweet romance, a fun world with great supporting characters, and plenty of spunky banter that made me smile.
Milo offered a host of different romantic tones- brother’s best friend, hurt/comfort, and friends to lovers coming together to make an enjoyable, sweet story. I loved the gentle way the romance between Milo and Niall built, letting those feelings cement and giving time for both men to develop. There were some parts in the second half that felt a bit extraneous to the story- specifically when Milo and Niall went away together- but for the most part I really enjoyed the main characters’ interactions with others around them. Not only did it add more dimensions to the men, but it also drew me further into the world and left me eager to read more about this wonderfully fun, loving cast of characters. Milo is definitely worth the read for anyone looking for a balanced romance with some angst and plenty of character development.

I want to do exactly what Niall does. I want to take Milo somewhere safe where he can heal and love himself again. I want to just hold him and love him and tell him everything will be okay.
There are definitely some twists I didn’t see coming and intrigue me for upcoming stories ( or at least I hope we get a Gideon story). I love seeing Oz being so “grown” in this book that when he is helping Milo you can’t help but laugh or sit with your mouth open with the wisdom he shows.
Niall sure does have a “box of crayons” past as an adult but his past with Milo as children/teens shows us another side to him which we see coming back as his relationship with Milo begins.
Amazing
Fantastic addition to the series! I loved the first book in the series and honestly didn’t think it could be beat. I should have known better, this author blows me away every time! Milo and Niall’s story is perfection. I loved everything about it.
This book was absolutely lovely. I am so glad we got the prologue with Milo and was able to see how his past has influenced him. It was emotional but I felt like it was important to the storyline. It showed Milo and Niall coming together in a way that is unexpected but true to them as characters. Overall the book was pretty much perfect for me. It was sweet and hilarious with the perfect amount of sass.
I LOVE Milo and Niall. They are so different but with blatant chemistry and a dynamic that is easy and warm. Seeing Milo being comfortable and giving a bit of sass was great. He was engaged and so much funnier than I expected! His character growth throughout this story was refreshing and sweet and I loved how much Niall was proud of him for stepping out of his shell. Niall was charming and it was easy to see how Milo had crushed on him.
I enjoyed getting to see Oz and Silas and sweet Cora. Oz was hilarious as always and it was nice to see how supportive they all were to each other, including Milo and Niall. And that epilogue, yes!! I hope we get to see all these guys more in future books.
I am a great fan of Lily Morton and so far I have loved everything I’ve read by her. This one is no exception. That said, this book does deal with something that I find hard to read about, which is why I just couldn’t give it a 5-star rating, even if the writing was superb.
Milo was a real sweetheart, just like I knew he would be. His life hasn’t been the easiest. He has been his brother’s best friend Niall for quite some time…Being in an abusive relationship has made him very shy and timid…even though that’s not his real personality. Thankfully he was saved by Niall, his brother’s best friend and the man he’s had a huge crush on when he was younger. After spending some awesome times with his new buddy Oz…his sparkling personality slowly starts to come back though…but then so does his crush…
I think Milo and Niall were both absolutely wonderful. I loved seeing Milo slowly get more and more confident. His friendship with Oz was one of the best parts of the book… boy do I love that snarky little man! But even though the developing relationship between Milo and Niall was awesome…I had a bit of an issue with the relationship between Niall and Milo’s brother Gideon.
You see, this is a “brother’s best friend” trope…but…these supposed best friends are so much more than “just friends”. And we are not talking about a one-timer here. Now I am best friends with my sister and I just can’t imagine something like this happening…I had a hard time getting my head around it…I try not to judge though, but it’s not always easy. 😛
What made my feelings even more of a confused mess, was the fact that I actually felt sorry for Gideon. He seemed so lonely…So the only hope I have is for Lily Morton to give him his own man and a very awesome HEA. Please, Lily Morton, make it happen!!! I am not below begging! 😛
Gideon aside, these two were extremely hot and sweet together. They should have been together a long time ago…but I think Milo still had some growing up to do, and I don’t mean physically. The ending gave me all the nice and warm fuzzy feelings like I usually get when I read a book from this author…I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us next (please be Gideon !!)…and for those of you who haven’t read Oz’s awesome book yet…what are you waiting for??
I highly recommend this series!
