The book is divided into four chapters, and each chapter serves a different purpose. Deals with a different pain. Heals a different heartache. Milk and Honey takes readers through a journey of the most bitter moments in life and finds sweetness in them because there is sweetness everywhere if you are just willing to look.
this book is the best book ever . if only if only , i can read it .
Rupi Kaur is an incredible poet
self love promoting
It’s an awsome heartbroken book
This book bowled me over, ripped my heart out, put it back together, hit me in the gut, and made me think. Absolutely amazing.
Some of these “poems” were more like short bursts of thought or idea rather than “poems.” But they were interesting bursts, things that are honest and real. But then, among these short bursts, were moments of real poetry brilliance – beautiful words strung together to artfully express.
There are a lot of poems in this book I resonate with and though it was a difficult read at times, I felt very moved by the end of this poetry book.
I love it.
Yes it’s bad. But every once in a while it’s really good. And guess what: you should still read it.
This book is a collection of poems that sheds light on breaking out of constraints and rules put on females. Some of the poems were a little hard to read for context but important to share. I enjoyed the poems at the end of the book which focused more on self love.
Each poem set itself apart from the one before it. Absolutely beautiful.
An absolutely gorgeous, soul-splitting collection of poetry. The themes of femininity, self-discovery, love, betrayal, abuse, and healing are presented in verses that are truly timeless and so very touching and relatable! Some are short but so very profound that I found myself sitting stunned and reliving similar feelings and situations I’ve been through but never thought could be compressed into such precise, skin-slicing poems. “Milk and Honey” is one of those books that are destined to be re-read. I know I’ll definitely be returning to it again and again. It really touched me to the core.
I really loved this book. A little book of poetry that I normally do not appreciate, but this one is wonderful.
I love the way Kaur writes, and her little drawings, how she can inspire in just a few lines to find the strength and greatness of oneself in the morst ordinary moments.
One of the greatest poetry books ever.
So, I picked this book up years ago. I remember thumbing through and reading a few of the poems and loving them, but for some reason, I never read the entire thing front to back.
I picked it back up last month and decided to read a few each morning with my coffee. My mom and I do this together (from across the US). I take pics and send to her and we discuss. It’s become a tradition that I love and cherish, and we particularly bonded over this book, because Rupi Kaur touches on so many heartbreaking but important aspects of being a woman — a daughter, a mother, a lover, a friend, etc.
This book is, in one word, powerful. I highly recommend it and suggest sipping it slowly, little by little, like a fine whiskey.
A great way to start a conversation
Rupi Kaur explores some important, deep emotions and concepts in some of her poems. However, some of the pages could not be qualified as poems as much as filler or tweets. I was disappointed in how large of the book was fluff, but the poems worth reading are truly fantastic.
I love this book! This book of poetry turned into a self-realization book. I felt a connection with every word Ms. Kaur wrote. Truly intense. I would recommend this to everyone. This is meant for people who need to start loving themselves. You realize how lucky you are to live the life you have…
Ohhh my!
