When his call came, the mission was the opposite of what he expected… who’d touched him years earlier. To think she might be suffering at the hands of a deranged serial kidnapper or, worse, could be sold in some human trafficking ring…
Vanessa, tied up and blindfolded, has no idea why she’d been kidnapped. She does her best to obey her captor, even as she plots her escape. Her hope is that she’s been reported missing and that the cops are looking for her. … They are, but so is someone else…
Keeping Vanessa safe at his side, Miles is taxed to the limit to unravel and to capture a serial killer who’s lain undetected for decades, disguised as a serial kidnapper…

A slow and easy read until 3/4 of the way through the story and then the story explodes. I didn’t mean to make it sound boring because it isn’t. It starts off with a kidnapping, description of how the victim is being held and the torment from the kidnapper. The black op guys show up and investigate. I was intrigued with the plot and tried to guess the person behind everything but got it wrong several times. Great read.

The next instalment of the Mavericks series has is with Mile’s. Fresh from his last mission as a second helper, he is now called upon to travel further afield and with the help of his team mate track down and rescue a woman who has been kidnapped I think I knew this one was going to be a good read after reading a small epilogue from the last book. Vanessa is the woman he is sent to rescue but I did t see the twist after the drama started again. That was one twisted person as the bad guy and all I wanted to do was give Nico a massive hug at the end. This series has me Wanting more as we read more books before we get to the finale one, then what. That’s the question I need answers to. A great read with so much action in it. I couldn’t get enough. Every time I tried to put the book down something else came up and I found myself giving up and reading right through. I am Loki g forward to next instalment.
Miles is pleased to find his mission would take him to London. However, this mission is not quite what he expected and a bit out of his comfort zone. The missing woman was very familiar to him as well. While he’d never met her he’d been drawn to the images of her for years, falling just a bit in love with her.
Mile’s friend Nico is his partner on this case that both MI6 and Scotland Yard were interested in. It was Nico who has discovered a pattern that spans seventeen years of missing red haired women. Worse they think the man responsible may be military.
When we first see Vanessa she is bound and sensory deprived by a blindfold and something covering her ears. She knows she’s been drugged from the fogginess she feels. All she can remember is being on her way to a photo shoot that was within walking distance of her flat. What she does know is she has to figure out someway to escape her situation even if someone is looking for her.
Vanessa does manage to outsmart her kidnapper and her getaway wasn’t easy or without injury.
Miles meets Vanessa at the hospital, proclaiming himself to be her fiancé to be able to sit with her. When Vanessa regains consciousness Miles lets her know she is safe and he will keep her that way. It’s not until later, when she’s more coherent, that they realize she has seen her kidnapper and is still in danger.
This is a fast-paced, nail-biting tale full of intrigue, suspense and a simmer to sizzle romance.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
This is the seventh book in The Mavericks series. After 14 years as an active SEAL and freshly back from helping Ryker (book six) get Manila Folger out of the Colombian jungle, Miles is excited to have the chance to return home to the UK for his assignment as leader. Assisted by Nico, who had been with MI6 before coming to the US and serving as a SEAL, Miles learned that the rescue will involve women who’ve been taken by a serial kidnapper and may be linked to other kidnappings of red-haired women going back more than 15 years. Miles is shocked to learn that this specific case involves Vanessa Redburn, his long-time supermodel celebrity crush. His dream girl. What a way to meet the girl of your dreams for real. On the serious side, what an amazing (and sometimes creepy) storyline involving catching these people who believe it’s ok to treat innocent girls like possessions to be bought and sold.

This was a great read. Plenty of emotion is well paired with danger and suspense to create a book that easily captures and keeps your attention. I really liked Miles and Vanessa. Both of these characters touched my heart and I found the story gripping. An all around excellent read and addition to this fine series. This is my candid, volitional review.
This is a engaging story full of mystery, suspense, romance, danger and intrigue. The characters are captivating and well developed. The plot is well written and has plenty of surprises to keep it interesting. I really enjoyed reading and look forward to reading the next book in this series.
I love this series. The books always grab a hold of you and keep you engrossed from the start. This book was no different. I loved the interaction between the characters and how the story had twists and turns that were unexpected. The story was true to life and kept you wondering what was going to happen next. The characters were so real and likable. The story had you rooting for the main characters and hoping that things went their way. I really love this series and all the action and suspense throughout the book and can’t wait till the next book is released.

Huge fan of the Mavericks series and have enjoyed every book, but hands down, this is my favorite. I loved Miles, such a gentle giant and wow, Vanessa was such a strong woman. Perfect amount of action, suspense, and an awesome HEA.
(4.5) Miles is thrilled that when its his time to lead a mission its in his hometown. His partner turns out to be Nico who was with MI6 when he first had an inkling of this mission. They are looking for a missing model, Vanessa. Miles has never met her, but like most young men, knew of her. Nico shares some gut feelings and after research they realize that a redhead is taken every year. They are on the hunt for Vanessa and who is behind the kidnapping. Vanessa uses her wits and escapes. The story does not end there. Twists, turns, multiple criminals all keep you hanging on, catching your breath as the story unfolds. Dale Mayer brings awareness to human trafficking and handles it with a light touch. Thank you Dale Mayer and Booksprout for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
The Mavericks. Former SEALS operating more independently to complete their missions. MIles was notified when a model disappeared. One disappearance becomes many and the Mavericks need to dig deeper and deeper. Action packed, more and more questions appear with each step. A page turner. Bravo!!

Love this Black-ops series…It’s Miles turn to head up a mission. Miles needs to find and rescue a kidnapped model Vanessa. She is one of a pattern of women over the years that have been kidnapped and disappeared. Miles has always admired Vanessa and compared other women to her. Vanessa is hoping for rescue, but believes that she needs to find a way to escape. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a very suspenseful book. I love this black-op series. I love that Miles has both a personal as well as a professional reason to rescue Vanessa. I love that Vanessa is resourceful in not waiting for a rescue. The romance mixed with the suspense adds to the story. I love this book.
Miles is next up to lead a case and his is in England, which just happens to be where he is originally from. A redheaded model named Vanessa has been kidnapped, and there is a suspicion that a serial kidnapper is involved.
As Miles and Nico investigate Vanessa’s kidnapping, they learn that the cctv cameras were offline at convenient times. Is it a coincidence or is someone temporarily turning the off?
I love that the females in this series are not helpless females but have a backbone and do things to try and make their situation better. There were some twists in this story that I did not see coming. Even though it is horrible to think this type of situation does happen in real life, the story was well-written and makes you want to keep reading until the mystery is solved.
Vanessa is a model in London, but when a serial kidnapper takes her Miles is sent to rescue her. This is a dark look into the world of the slave trade and even serial killers. It’s a fast paced read with a lot action and many intricate pieces. It will have you on the edge until the end. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.
This story is every bit as intriguing as the first 6 books in the Maverick series. Miles accepted the mission offered to him for many reasons, one of which, he is Miles, and he likes to help. The fact he knew the victim in the past and the assignment was in London which was his hometown made it a done deal.
So off he goes to face a conspiracy, a kidnapping, a collector and, of course, the victim has a sister to worry about. Miles and Nico work well together and their camaraderie is fun to watch. They need to outsmart criminals who have done this for years in a devious so far successful manner.
I love the challenges presented, the surprises, the mystery, the romance and the loyalty shared in these stories. A great read!
The epilogue hints at Nico accepting his own assignment to lead a mission in Australia to find a missing woman who is famous in her own right as an anthropologist and activist. She is also the sister of an American undercover operative. It all sounds like another fascinating story and I can’t wait!
Former SEAL Miles Radford had cut his teeth on his first Mavericks mission while backing up Ryker. Now it was time to lead his own op that was taking him back to the UK, his country of birth. Ryker was running the electronic backup team and Nico, another buddy from Miles’ Navy days, would be by his side.
The original mission is to rescue a kidnapped model but it turns out to be much more involved. Securing safety for the beautiful redheaded victim has Miles and the Mavericks on a fast track to learn why she was taken and find who was responsible. The growing attraction for Vanessa makes the outcome even more personal.
In true Dale Mayer style, this 7th book in the Mavericks series has all the action, suspense, surprises and romance that make it impossible to put down.

Miles is sent to England to run his own mission with an assist by Nico. Vanessa is the latest redhead to be kidnapped in the past 17 years. One is kidnapped each year and is never seen or heard from again. Vanessa manages to escape by climbing out a 3rd floor window and going down by the tied up sheet and then dropping to the ground onto the mattress she also threw out the window. Miles is now protecting Vanessa and trying to find her kidnapper and the people he is working for.
Although this is a stand alone it is enjoyed more if you read the series in order as each secondary character in the book then gets their own book in the future.

In book 7, Miles gets his turn with The Mavericks.
Miles was just thinking of his home in London, and he gets the call that he’ll be going there to investigate the disappearance of Vanessa.
Things get interesting when Miles realizes who Vanessa is. She is no shrinking violet, and things get ramped up when he finally gets to meet her.
Exciting, fast paced, action packed reading that will keep you until you’ve finished the book.
Another fantastic book in the series!
Holy smokes let me say that Miles is a must read for all Dale Mayer fans. I think im in love. Miles is captivating and I couldn’t put it down.
