Mile High is book 1 in this 2 book duet. It is a fun, fast read that had me laughing out loud and dying to find out what is going to happen between Bianca and Lucas when the plane lands. Trust me, you will definitely want to get your hands on this book ASAP! By Alisa
Fun Quick Read
Soaring!
Mile High is a quick, scintillating read. It introduces us to Bianca and Lucas. They meet on a flight to Australia where their chemistry sizzles and their banter is fun. I was enraptured with these intriguing and layered and relatable characters. I laughed and longed and writhed with anticipation throughout Bianca and Lucas’s flight. I am definitely a member of the Mile High fan club. Be prepared to have your panties melt and your heart soar!
I really enjoyed this. It ticked a lot of boxes for me and it’s the first book I’ve ever read that featured a sort of kind of mile high scene. For as hot as this was, it was also really sweet and really made me want to read book 2 in this duet. Because Bianca and Lucas really got to me. I’m glad I got this on my Smutathon wheel spins.
Both Bianca and Lucas are coming out of relationships. Bianca has recently found out that her husband of 13 years cheated on her with a co-worker. Lucas followed a girl to the States only to find out that her feelings weren’t that strong for him.
On a whim, Bianca decides to travel halfway around the world. Lucas is returning home to Australia. Fate seats them next to each other for a 15 hour flight. Their intense connection is immediate. With the flight ending soon, romantic at heart Lucas and heartbroken Bianca must figure out if there’s something worth pursuing.
Even though you have to wait until the next book to see what happens, I really enjoyed everything about Lucas and Bianca — their sexy banter as well as their explosive chemistry. The genuineness of their connection will have you believing in love at first sight. After this quick read, you will definitely want more of this couple.
i couldnt stop once i got started. it was amazing
I am categorising MILE HIGH as a novella length prequel of THE ARRIVAL OF YOU. If you’re after a shorter read, you can easily get away with just reading this, but if you want to know what happened next, you definitely need to continue onto THE ARRIVAL OF YOU.
Let’s face it. Economy class long-haul plane travel is rarely a trip to get overly excited about. Excitement about the destination, sure. But the part where you get from A to B can offer a multitude of frustrations.
Bianca Evers and Lucas Hawke are downright lucky. They found each other on a plane! Proximity allows them to talk, to joke, get to know one another and on occasion act on their mutual physical attraction … and it’s steamy!!! The flight is long but the time spent together is short, and yet I felt like we really got an opportunity to know these characters much better.
‘What happens when the plane lands?’ Indeed. What does happen? I am nosy enough to want to know. But you know what? In real life, if I’d had an encounter like this, I would still have walked away, happy to have met Lucas and have a delightful memory to reflect on in years to come.
This was lovely….be aware, cliffhanger ahead.
Bianca and Lucas meet on a transcontinental flight. There’s sparks, and then there’s flame…where will they end up? I found the internal thoughts as intriguing as their interaction here…
Just devoured this steamy and heart-felt novella by the amazing B. Cranford. Bianca and Lucas are sweet and funny and sexy as hell – their insta-lust chemistry was made even better by their emotional connection. It’s a cliffy but you can grab The Arrival of You next week!
Attraction leaps off the pages from this novella. B. Cranford creates an engaging story of seat mates feeling the spark on a trans-Pacific adventure. If you don’t believe in soul mates, this story will make you believe they will show up anywhere. Anxiously awaiting the second half of this duet.
So not many insta connection stories grab me but y’all this one had me by the throat and I never want it to leave me.
I am sitting here rooting so hard for my girl, Bianca. I want her to stomp on the men who have hurt her. I want her to rule this world. She is so so strong but at the same time there is this vulnerability about her that is so damn real and endearing.
Lucas is my boo and I LOVE the subtle beta vibes I was getting from him. I think he might be in a serious competition of winning my heart for ever and ever. I am sweating bullets here because of this lovesick fool and his tender heart. If he gets hurt I WILL RIOT!!
This story was quite possibly one of the hottest yet most meaningful stories I’ve read in a long time. And this is just starting. I cannot wait for what’s about to happen next. My mind is already blown!
Sexy, funny, with all the feels….
Oh, I want to be Bianca! Not that her life was perfect, far from it. Reeling from betrayal, she was on a quest to find out who she was, who she wanted to be. Trust was shaky but she couldn’t help be attracted to this handsome, irresistible stranger who made her senses zing…
I could hear Lucas’ Aussie accent in my head and it was beyond delicious as he tickled Bianca’s eyes, her funny bone and all the rest of her, now on high alert, senses. He was beautiful but it turned out he was so much more…
This felt like an old-fashioned romance with all the modern twists and to say I liked it is an understatement! I could feel the sparks between Bianca and Lucas as their forced, close quarters allowed them to open up in a way that may never have happened. They were a sultry mix of funny and sarcastic then sweet and shy in turn. I’m not sure how so much heat could have been packed into this novella, but I didn’t question, just enjoyed…
I’m so intrigued by this first part of their story and can’t wait to find out what happens when the plane lands!

Mile High is book one in the Mile High series by B. Cranford. This is my very first book of Ms. Cranford’s. I have had several of her books on my tbr list but just haven’t had a chance to get to them. What drew me to this one? The cover! Something about the beautiful girl on the cover just called to me. And I’m so glad that it did!
Bianca Evers is trying to turn over a new leaf, to be adventurous. She is still recovering from the end of her marriage. Her trust and her self confidence has taken a hit. She decided to spend Christmas in Australia and have an adventure. The flight is fifteen hours long and she plans to use the time to decompress, to relax. Then she saw who her seat mate was going to be, the sexiest man she had ever seen. Suddenly the flight looked even better.
Lucas Hawke is on his way home to Australia. He first saw the beautiful woman in the airport. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. To his astonishment, his assigned seat was right next to her. He had fifteen hours to get to know this woman. And if everything went as he hoped, maybe even more.
For both Bianca and Lucas, they felt that instant attraction, that zing when they touched. A feeling of comfort, like they can tell each other anything. They find themselves sharing things they’ve never shared before. But both have that small part of themselves that doubts their intuition due to recent events. Can this thing they share be real? Or when the plane lands, will that be the end of it?
“This woman, she ignited all my possessive protective urges.”
I enjoyed this so much. I loved both Bianca and Lucas. And boy oh boy, what a surprise! It was seriously hot! I loved dirty talking Lucas and he seemed to unlock something new in Bianca as well!
This is kind of a ‘to be continued.’ We have to wait for book two, The Arrival of You, to see what happens with Bianca and Lucas once they land in Australia. I can’t wait to find out! Rest assured, I will most definitely be reading more by this author!
REVIEW: 3 STARS
“I just wanted. In a way I’d never wanted before.”
Soooo, this one was uber sticky icky, ooey-gooey sweet…..and that is not my normal jam. Having said that, this was a quick and easy, light read that actually gave me a happily for now ending. Truthfully, I don’t feel like I’m missing any of the story if I don’t read the next book. I’ll be honest, but it’s super ridiculously hard for me to read books this light and frilly. However, I will say I giggled and smiled and felt some of the butterflies between them.
Cranford’s words were a joy to read – her writing is very easy-going, very jubilant, very boisterous, and I actually love her voice. She made me smile throughout this book, and between the banter and the flirting, the story moved along just enough to keep me turning the pages. I did think it was neat with the fate that these two had meeting each other. I can hear the ‘Beth’ that I know and love coming out in her story here. I can hear the joking and the excitedness and the lighthearted side of the story. It wasn’t a heavy read, and there really wasn’t any angst at all – just two people meeting for the first time, and the ensuing, burgeoning relationship. While I was reading, I couldn’t help but want to discover more of their story and I’ve enjoyed what I read of them so far.
And let me just tell you, I loved Lucas. Like, his personality was smile inducing. His banter with Bianca was giggle-worthy. There was so much chemistry between these two, it was pouring off them. They really were a joy to read. He definitely made me keep turning the pages because, given his Aussie accent, it made me ‘hear’ the story with said accent – thus requiring a smile from my imagination. I did run across some sayings that I had NO clue as to what they were because they were obviously situational to the dialect Lucas spoke, but I was still able to enjoy the novella.
I struggled a little bit with Bianca and I wasn’t really able to connect with her, but I am honestly thinking that this is entirely a “me” thing because with her sweetness came a side that was also emotionally drained and broken, and I have a very hard time connecting with a character that continually refers back to her heartache, or the reason for the heartache….and keeps reminding me of said heartache. I also didn’t like the constant comparisons of Lucas and Mason (ex). Again, I know this is a me thing and in general why I had a hard time connecting. But her smiles and her personality as a whole definitely made me think she was a sweetheart and Lucas was lucky to have ‘found’ her. I really did enjoy their chemistry together and I think they complemented each other well.
I don’t normally enjoy internal monologue a whole lot, and this book was heavy on this. However, with this one I felt like the story was still progressing and it didn’t get stagnant – which I find that with a lot of stories with a high amount of internal monologue. Was it cheesy? I mean, in a super sweet, super sticky way – there were some parts that made me smile in conjunction with my eye-roll, but it wasn’t overwhelmingly annoying in any way, shape or form. It was the kind that you can’t help but smile through.
I am not telling you to not grab this. I am not saying this was bad, because it wasn’t at all. I am merely saying this wasn’t for me. I also know my limits, so I’m not going to push it either. I don’t do this kind of sweet, but it was a cute book.

Loved Bianca and Lucas! This shows that you find love anywhere. These two have undeniable attraction and they just met a few hours ago on an airplane! I’m so excited to find out what happens next!!
I have loved all of Ms. Cranford’s stories.
This novella, which was first published on Book + Main as a serial was no exception. To find out she has expanded it a bit and put it all together is fantastic and I didn’t want it to end!
This is the chance meeting between Bianca and Lucas. Now if you have read any of Ms. Cranford’s stories, Bianca is a secondary character to her Avenue series and Lucas has a small mention in She Found Him, but don’t let that scare you off!
Get your hands on this quick-paced, hotter than Hades story! This is an airplane ride of epicness! Why weren’t my intercontinental flights like this?!? From the first meet-cute to the cozy ending, this story is gonna leave you craving more, more, more!
I am absolutely stoked for the next book The Arrival of You!! So well written, a fun and exciting blending of Australian and American characters!
Mile High is a quick, easy to read novella. Bianca is heartbroken after the end of her marriage. Flying to Australia, she meets Lucas. The attraction is instant. The chemistry is off the charts hot and the banter is fun and flirty. Lucas falls hard and fast for the beauty with such sad eyes. I can’t wait for The Arrival of You to see where this story takes us.
-4 Stars!-
Wow. If you like amazing chemistry and insta-attraction, this story is for you. Oh, and did I mention it’s *super* hot??? Sometimes insta-love/lust stories can feel forced (or very “Letters to Penthouse”) but not this one. The connection between Bianca and Lucas was believable and I can’t wait to read the conclusion of their story!
Whew! That was a sweet and sexy little read! Bianca and Lucas’ connection was immediate and smoldering. I really enjoyed it and am excited to see where B. Cranford takes this story in the next book.
