Contrary to her parents’ wishes, Evelyn married a nonbeliever, but it all works out . . . or does it? Not only did the love of her life accept Christ, Nathaniel got baptized by fire and became a minister of the gospel. Woven into the breathtaking tale of love and redemption are two additional stories, Evelyn’s novels of faith, family, and forgiveness.
Mighty to Save covered many topics within the same story. Evelyn was an author, we were able to read the story within the story, which offered us insight into the time period. We followed Evelyn and her family for a number of years. Her husband was a traveling preacher, saving many souls as he preached. His faith was tested in a way he wasn’t expecting and he had struggles with this test. The human factor comes into play. It’s how we come out in the end that matters. This was an emotional story, by very satisfying in the end.
Evelyn and Nathaniel Nightingale’s journey is one we are all invited to embark upon. The faith journey is one of mountaintop experiences and dark nights in the valley. This story is engaging and filled with hope.
I enjoyed reading the old stories of past revivals. They are so encouraging! Yeshua shines brightly through the pages of “Mighty to Save”.
Recommend to readers who enjoy inspirational, historical fiction.
I won a copy. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
I have enjoyed most of this series and this was no exception. However, this was a very busy book… it jumped around from family to family and one scene to another. Truly God is mighty to save, I’m glad that part was evident in this book.
I was given a free code for this audio book and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Again, Ms. McAdoo wrote a wonderful story. She is a great story teller. Besides reading about Evelyn and Nathaniel, which I loved, there were two other stories-within-the-story. I really liked the story of Jules and Pearl. All the stories had a lot of love and redemption. I would recommend this book. It was a great addition to a great series.
I received a PDF copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
This book was a great read. Didn’t want to put it down
Had a difficult time following the time frame and characters. After finding the end of Jules and his love, I stopped reading it.
I only gave this book 3 stars because even though it had 2 stories inside the one story I had trouble getting into the characters of the one story… I found myself fast forwarding to the chapters to read the story inside the main story… about the slave girl and her adventures, I liked that story best.
Made me feel like I was there experiencing what the people were feeling & praising GOD with them! Lots of tears also.
I don’t believe that God works in some of the ways protrayed in this book
Kind of Hokey. Their faith seemed a little unrealistic.
this book held my interest to very end, good read!
This book was not so easy to get into. There were too many scenarios but having thought of putting it down I am glad I continued. It is a very overtly Christian book which could be strange to someone not aware of pentecostal shape religion. If you are a strong Christian I deel sure you will enjoy it.
Love, Faith and family. Love this author.
Heart warming and entertaining! Loved it!!
I found “Mighty to Save” to be slow and a bit disappointing and disjointed. The story did not flow smoothly for me.
