I really enjoyed this book the authors gave us so much that I bought the second book. Haven’t quite finished it yet, but there is only a couple hours left. Haigwood and Conley evidently have a great team to have come up with such a great story. Mena and Phoenix and Ace. Oh and don’t forget the cop. What a combination. At the end of the book, I’m not sure who I was rooting for. Maybe Phoenix. But, once you get into book number two, you might change your mind, or you will be as confused as me as to who to choose. Anyway, Pyper Down did a great job of portraying each of the characters. I really enjoyed her narration. Looking forward to more books by these authors.

In this book the hits just keep coming for Mena and Phoenix as well as the pack. There is so much information and drama in this book that keeps you asking for more. I can’t wait to dive into the next installment in this series.

A roll coaster ride is the best description of this story told by Pyper Down of Mena’s challenges, the turmoil she faces, with her new reality, complicated decisions within herself and those of her pack, and of course the love triangle.
This story is well written with many complex but well established characters which have wheedled there way into my heart.

Has me hooked right off the get go. Was NOT expecting this to turn into a werewolf/werelion/witch/vampire book. That being said I am extremely pleased with how the female role is shaping up. I love love love Mena and how strong and amazing she is. And of course Ace. Sigh. With Alex and Phoenix too. I want to be Mena! The ending had me crying.

Audiobook Review
Midnight Moonrising is an exciting, complex, and steamy PNR. The characters are easy to connect with and relate to. I loved the comedic moments where they would joke and tease each other. Especially as the guys competed for Mena’s heart! I literally laughed out loud several times and it was these times that made me grateful I was listening to the audiobook in my own office.
The story is fast-paced with several plot twists that kept me on my toes and begging for more. The ending of the story wraps up the mystery in a way that doesn’t leave a cliffhanger, but leads into another storyline. I already have book 2 downloaded, so I can find out what happens next!

MIDNIGHT MOONRISING is the second book in the Moonrising series. They must be read in order of publication.
As with ACCEPTING THE MOON, I was offered an audible copy for this review and I am so glad that I was. Spending time with Mena, Alex, Phoenix, Roelle, and the rest of this cast of vampires, werewolves, witches, and… is the BEST way to make the miles to and from work more bearable. Last year, I listed, but my commute was shorter. This year was actually better when I relistened. I didn’t want to leave the car.
I love the storyline. There is so much uniqueness in this world that has been developed, especially the idea of the Moonrising wolf that could cause the destruction of the entire world. The characters had me laughing – often – but I was also holding my breath at times and even a few tears, a lot of smiles, and the heartfelt sighs of true love being shown.
As for whom I think Mena should be with…Well, I’ll let you decide, but I have a very definite opinion of my own!

Let me start out by saying I really enjoyed the story. Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware that this was book 2. The author is very good, and writes a very good story, however, because this is book 2, she didn’t give enough information from book 1 to truly make this a ‘stand alone’ book. Recommend you read/listen to book 1, first to get the background for this story. It is 14 hours long, but it flows very well. I was always ready to get back to it and never once thought “is it ever going to end?”. Actually, I’m wondering if there is going to be a 3rd book! Yes, it was that good. Only 1 other piece of constructive criticism would be this…the author uses the word ‘huff’ wayyyy too often. Every person might make the noice, but it can be described using other words. Especially for other species besides the werewolf.
The narrator has a nice voice. This is my first time to listen to her work. I had a tough time keeping the characters separated unless she said who was speaking, which she did most of the time. I don’t know if it is her natural way of speaking or not, but, she tended to narrate in a ‘drama’ voice all through the story. She did give good expressions of emotion through the characters. One piece of constructive criticism I would give to her would be this…either laugh or say ‘they laughed’. Both are not necessary.
Over all, I would recommend this story. I enjoyed it very much and will listen to more of both the author and the narrator.

Midnight Moonrising by K. S. Haigwood , Anne Conley
I usually stay away from audible books because they are such a hassle to get over to my tablet.
This one transferred and was waiting for me! Other have me and the author stumped for weeks til they send me a different format.
This book starts with Mena, her ex’s funeral. He was the pack leader and how she’s the leader. None of her friends knew he was a werewolf.
Others in important positions have her back and she won’t be going to jail at all…
Her inner wolf wants her to do other things and she is strong…
She needs a right hand man and Darrin fills the spot but 27 others want the spot also. He orients her to the duties and other questions she has about the pack.
Her inner wolf wants to kill Phoenix so she can have Alex, the detective to herself.
They hope the witches have the answers to the killings…There are a lot of other creatures introduced that help also.
What I do like, even though to me it’s all a fairytale is that there are problems and I like the way they find creative solutions to them.
Think I would like to read the next book if it’s the end of the series but it’s not really my genre but I enjoyed the series so far.
I received this review book from the author and this is my honest opinion.
