I’ve found a new author in Lucinda Brant. Great writing, wonderful characters. Adult romance without over the top detailed sensuality but VERY romantic. I enjoyed her first book of this series (Noble Satyr) but loved this one! I think most readers who enjoy Georgette Heyer will truly appreciate Lucinda Brant’s writing and characters.
This book was ok. The premise was good but so much of the explanation of things was left out that it sort of lost the punch it might have had
A wonderful plot, I didn’t see coming. Good characters that I cared about. Highly recommend!
This is a sequel to ‘Noble Satyr’. Both books have a Heyeresque feel to them and as I said in the first books review, that is a good thing. I was very impressed that the sequel was just as powerful a story as the first book. The historical backdrop of Georgian England (Bath)/France (Paris) was still there (foreshadowings of the French Revolution …
I loved this book. I definitely so wanted the characters to click. I enjoyed all of the ups and downs of the complicated relationships and all of the surprised along the way.
Good clean read.
When Deborah is 12 years old, she is awaken in the middle of the night, dosed with some kind of drug and brought to the study of her uncle and married to a crying boy of 15.
She thinks it is a dream until she meets him 8 years later, under at tree, bleeding from a wound to his side. Will she ever be a bride in real life?
Great story line. Lucinda pulls you in. Her descriptions help you transport back in time and love the story.
I purchased the series.
Love the Roxtons
I really enjoyed reading this Book.
Deborah Cavendish & Julian Hesham’s Journey to HEA was Absolutely Wonderful, Amazing & Romantic.
I would Love to read
“The Aristocrats by Stella Tillyard.” From the Book by Lucinda Brandt created this Story from the Charles Lennox, 2nd Duke of Richmond, and his wife Lady Sarah Cadogan in 1720. She created …
I really enjoyed this historical romance. I voluntarily chose to review it and I’ve given it a 4.5* rating. This story pulled me in from the first and kept me interested the whole time. There was a bit of back and forth on the hero and heroine but once it’s straightened out, other factors took over. Nice ending too.
Maybe it’s me.
I couldn’t finish the book.
It could be the period it’s set in, but I don’t think so.
The hero was just not masculine enough for me.
So I had to move on
The first book in the Roxton Series was lovely. Alex Wyndham brings the characters to life making listening to Lucinda’s words feel like you are part of the journey that Deborah and Julian experience.
I might be getting addicted to Georgian Historical Romance. The time period has grandeur and pomp in the lush landscape of extravagant …
Deb was very likable and endearing from the beginning. But was Julian a hero or a rogue? He came back to England after a long absence to find his wife and secure his dynasty. He wanted to find the woman who saved his life, initially unaware that she was his wife. Until he realized that Deb held both roles, he didn’t seem to have any qualms …
This is a dare disguised as an invitation. C’mon… take a look!
Rich heir, noble bastard, future duchess, dupe – secrets will out!
I’m a long-time fan of historical romances, but have not read any recently – mainly because I am sick of sloppy research leading to historical inaccuracy, poor command of the period language and ignorance of social customs, and the silly assumption that every young titled …
I love Paris.
Enjoyed revisiting through the authors’ view…
I just couldn’t get into this book. The characters are good though.
Easy read and you like the characters.
I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I enjoyed the author’s well written dialogue and pacing of the story. The story is not immediately predictable like other romance novels and the characters are interesting. The author put some work into this book and it is an enjoyable read.
Interesting character development.
