It doesn’t matter that I had him first. It’s bad enough to be practically left at the altar, even worse to rebound with the right guy at the wrong time. And timing is the only thing that’s wrong with Grayson, the heart-stopping, blue-eyed master of my body and soul for one perfect night. But it was too much too soon, so I ran… left without a word. Stupid, I know. And yes, I’ve been regretting … Stupid, I know. And yes, I’ve been regretting it.
Every day. For months.
Then he storms back into my life. But this time, he’s not alone. Never mind that it takes only one look to churn up those old emotions. It doesn’t matter that my heart longs for him the minute I see him. He’s angry, he’s taken, and I’m left craving his touch, wishing I could go back in time and fix everything.
There’s only one word for my best friend on the arm of my soul mate:
Hell.

Beautiful insta-love romance proves it’s all about the timing!
Chloe is rebounding from a years-long relationship, so she doesn’t trust the instant attraction she feels for Grayson, even after spending a best night of her life with him. Months later, their paths cross in a way that was absolutely heartbreaking! Even though there were no villains here, there was plenty of angst and just enough life-affirming hope to keep me reading.
Grayson is so sweet, so head-over-heels for Chloe at first, but then he’s just trying to soldier on, remaining stoic even though she’s right in front of him but still completely off-limits. My heart hurt for him, for Chloe, for everyone involved.
Just as we think all hope is lost, one brave move gets things going in the right direction, but by then the emotional collateral damage is going to be huge. How they managed to find their HEA without sacrificing friendship was so beautifully done, such a perfect balance of love and trust and friendship. This author really knows how to bring her characters to life and make you feel everything they feel. I absolutely loved this book, and devoured it in one sitting. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Midnight Heat is an entertaining, fun read full of drama, suspense, heartbreak, humor and a great romance. Chloe and Grayson have a one night stand on the night that was supposed to be her wedding night. Chloe panics and runs thinking that she would never see Grayson again even though neither of them have forgotten that night. Months later fate brings them back together. The story flowed nicely and the ending was destined to be.
When Chloe’s wedding is called off, she’s off men for the foreseeable future. Well, at least she was until she met Grayson the day that was supposed to be her wedding, and spent a mind-blowing night with him; a night in which she fell hard for the man because their connection was that strong. But, it was precisely because of that strong connection that she ran out on him the next morning, figuring she’d never see him again. And she didn’t see him again until 9 months later when he showed up as her friend’s Sam’s date to Sam’s and her mutual friend’s wedding. Yikes.
I really wanted to like this installment of the Firework Girls series because I loved the first one (Forbidden Heat), and figured Midnight Heat would be similarly awesome. Unfortunately, this one irritated me to no end. Chloe irritated me when she ran out on Grayson. Grayson irritated me when he was so passive aggressive at the wedding. Then Chloe irritated me again when she got mad at Grayson. Sam irritated me when she was so man hungry. And on and on and on until almost everyone irritated me but Isabella and Ashley. God, it was like reading a YA romance set in high school rather than a NA/contemporary romance featuring mid-20s characters who should have been more mature than my 15-year-old nephew.
Sorry, just could not get past the immaturity level of these two characters whose connection was so OTT insta-love that I about gagged. Hopefully Ashley and Eric and Sam and Jack’s stories are better (Eternal Heat and Nuclear Heat, respectively).
Chloe ends up getting dumped by her fiance. The night that she would have been married her friends take her to a bar and that’s where she meets Grayson. Chloe ends up hooking up with Grayson but ends up high tailing it out of there in the morning. Chloe ends up running into Grayson again at her best friends wedding. I enjoyed reading this book. I loved the storyline and plot. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
FIREWORKS GIRLS STRIKE AGAIN!!
Talk about taking it to extremes. Mans! Jordyn does it up in such a spectacular flare for the dramatics. She throws everything in the pot thats uniquely her own style in this remarkable page turning extravaganza. All the drama, suspense, danger and broken hearts you can stand. One thing I can say for sure, this is one hot steamy, off the charts read with an explosive chemistry that burns brighter than the sun between the two main characters. The characters are realistic and believable with such individual qualities that really make this read pop. Their flowing personalities is definitely something to behold. Armed only with a strong storyline she brings their personalities to the fore-front as they strive to be the person to carry out the roles they were created for. Twists and turns abound with unexpected surprises that can bring you to your knees as the cast of characters that are personable. Jordyn did a remarkable job bringing this read together flawlessly. Magnificent job Jordyn, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.
