What can I say about this book? Just wow! I was pretty bummed when I found out she ended up making this series into 4 books but having read the book, I see why! There is no way she could finish this book and it only be 3 of them. There is so much that we still need to find out and I can’t wait for the next book! I enjoyed the relationship budding between Kai and Aflora and even though the book does end on a cliffie, it ends in a perfect spot! I had all the feels with this book
Book 3 finds us learning more about Kai and Aflora’s relationship. More bonds are formed and we see better insight into the relationships. The villain isn’t always who we believe it to be and life will be lost.
Lexi C. Foss builds such immersive worlds that you cannot help being sucked in, until you find yourself devouring her words and then begging for more. She also has a way of setting things up only to later turn everything upside down, and as she does so she leads you through all the emotions. MFA 3 lives up to and exceeds these expectations. As pieces of the mystery get solved, other pieces twist and turn, and it makes it impossible to put the book down!!! One thing is for certain, though, and that is that Aflora is growing into a kickass heroine that you cannot help but root for! Start this series today, and you will not regret it.
Things pick up in this installment. I couldn’t put it down from the start. I enjoyed unraveling plots and learning more about her various mates.
When your fighting for you life, of those you love, and those people who feel you deserve a better life without threat of death because of you who are or who you support. Aflora is learning more about her powers and what she can do but there’s still more to learn. She is also learning more about all of her mates, while they try to keep her safe. Choices will have to be made, will violence be the only way to end all the wrongs that have been committed, or is there another way to make those changes. As in all the books before a cliffhanger leaves you wanting more and more, but it’s always worth it.
Retribution or Reformation? Aflora chooses neutrality. Her powers are growing and she is done with being a pawn. She’s the future Queen and there’s a new reign coming. The boys club better be prepared for a fight. She makes the rules now.
How come every book in this trilogy (fourlogy? lol) is even better than the one before!!! It did get a little slow towards the third part of it but not enough to make you loose interest… Can´t wait for book four to see how things get resolved (and see if Shade keeps being Shade, lol) and of course , because of the cliffhanger
“I was really excited for this third part after that shocking ending!!! Though we had a glimpse in advance that everything happened for a major reason still my heart ached for that decision *not telling*. One of the things I didn’t like that much before was the lack of ‘power’ Aflora has. There are still so much going on and lots of dark secrets still some part of me hope Aflora will end up being a much stronger version of herself not just the woman all the guys want to b*d. It isn’t a bad thing at all, not complaining about that it’s more like she’s more than just s*x and so far… yeah the guys love her, the whole mates things but still she has to be more that just meat to f**k at least that how I’m sensing things. Anyway, from the very first part meaning the prologue I was hooked! The tension for the first chapters was so shocking!!! All the guys including Aflora were a mess and everything happens for a reason right? Not saying more but I really love being inside the guys minds! They’ve different perspective of things and sometimes they tend to be more passionate rather than girls it’s just adorable in a weird way lol. Talking about hot moments… have I mention that they almost burned out my kindle? Yeah, no kidding!!!! But trust me it’s more than just mates and love…. war is coming! And why an ending like that again…. please nooooooooo!!!”
And enter Zakkai. Holy moly. These books just keep getting hotter and hotter, and the stakes get higher and higher. There is so much happening here, and I don’t want to spoil. But there is time manipulation and future visions, bonds and betrayal, hate and forgiveness, politics and rebellion, vengeance and salvation, and lot and lots of steam. Like, lots of steam. Holy cow, so…much…steam. Lexi does such a great job weaving strategy and plot into her super steamy stories, these are books you don’t want to put down.
Audiobook review – As always, impeccable narration. This series is done even better with duet style narration, the ultimate audiobook experience, in my opinion. Every narrator nails their characters, it’s immersive and just makes and already great story that much better. If you enjoy audiobooks, this series won’t disappoint.
Well hello there you beautiful beautiful ending!
Midnight Fae Academy has been nothing but extraordinary from the very beginning. Hot, sexy, and filled with unique characters and the perfect why choose heroine – this series is sure to bring the heat and entertainment to anyone interested.
Lexi is her usual self with a huge twist here – bringing some of the hottest and most daring scenes she’s ever had in books to life in the most intriguing of ways. She draws loose ends to a close, and makes the adventure come to life.
She really takes risks here – and I honestly think it pays off. Some of the scenes may make some readers uncomfortable – some in a good way and some in a bad. Its very heavy in the raunch factor, but its tasteful, and gives each of our Hs deserving time with this amazing heroine.
And when it comes to our h – why hello there! Her story wraps up beautifully, and he character development through all four books has been amazing.
Overall, this is by far one of Lexi’s most daring and spicey adventures. If you want to see scenes that push the envelope – this series is DEFINITELY for you.
Fast paced, action packed, this book had me hooked, it was a real emotional rollercoaster that had me reaching for the tissue box.
This storyline is amazing, I never know what’s going to happen next and I can’t wait to find out! The writing is amazing, the world building, the characters developments, the progression of the storyline, all amazing. I definitely look forward to more.
OMG! This is such a good series so if you haven’t read books one and two then what are you waiting for? It’s exciting and entertaining , it’s magical and heartstopping, it’s full of twists and turns and the world building is immersive and incredible and I found myself totally engrossed in the addictive storyline. Some questions are answered, some leaving us with more questions and I just adore the characters! So looking forward to the next book!
I definitely agree with other reviewers that this is the best of the series yet. It fills in so much character development, and you really start to love all of Aflora’s mates. It as usual answers a lot of questions while leaving you with a lot more. I laughed, I cried, I yelled at characters. It was a great installment, and I can’t wait for the last in the series!
So we left things here previously with Shade apparently betraying and giving Aflora up to her enemy Zakkai.
But things aren’t what they seem on the surface and here secrets are revealed and betrayals play out as everything is brought to a dramatic and explosive head.
Oh wow, what a tangled web we do weave and here Shade Aflora, Kols, Zeph and Kai are all in yet another time loop due to Shades interferences.
Shades current and past manipulations have brought everyone to this current point in time and he’s praying to the universe that this time around things play out differently.
But there’s a steep price to pay for all of his prior meddlings with timelines and the cost of this is just too high a price and one that’s he’s unwilling to pay.
The end result will see Aflora and her mates take that final step finally cementing them together as one solid unit.
I’m so anticipating the resolution to this whole saga and I’m ever so pleased that this wasn’t rushed especially since Kai wasn’t really introduced properly until this third book.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the final piece of the puzzle with book four.
This series is fantastic full of twists and turns this author has such a talent with storytelling and I was hanging on every word, This series is one I highly recommend
A massive thumbs up from me this was fabulous from start to finish.

Ok, so I’ve written, deleted, and re-written this review at least 3 times now trying to find the right words to describe how I felt after reading this…
See here’s the thing, this book is downright freaking awesome. I’m talking best one in the series yet. For me, it’s even topped all of the books in the related Elemental Fae series that initially introduced us to Aflora… AND there is still one book left to come!!
Just trust me when I say… If you’re a PNR fan buy this, read it, then maybe go back and re-read the whole series cause I’m telling you the plot twists in this are mind bending!
*Disclaimer: I was given an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. Real talk??? Even with that I’m slapping down my cold hard cash to purchase this book as I’ve done with every other book in this series cause they really are that damn good. #Facts
What a book and what a cliffhanger of an ending I am loving this series!!
MFA3 followed on straight after book two, so you need to read these in order. Thank goodness though after the cliff we’d suspended over!
It was relatively slow burn for the first half as we learn more about Zakkai and his intentions after he took Aflora. I was intrigued by him and how he’d fit in and I liked him more and more as we learnt his secrets and saw how Aflora affected him, even if like her other mates he was frustrating at times and wasn’t always straight forward with his methods (still sexy af though). There were less steamy scenes overall but the ones that were there took my breath away, Kols and Zeph especially…..so flipping hot!!
The second half however ignited with the mystery, intrigue and suspense. What was Shade really up to? The story twisted and turned, then bam!!! The last few chapters detonated and we finally saw the depraved evil they are all up against! That ending was emotional and gripping, just fantastic and I can’t wait for the final installment. Lexi C Foss, please, please, please write quickly and be nicer to my Shade, he deserves it after all the heartache he is going through! Lol
4.5 dark magical stars
5 stars. Amazing. What else is there to say?
Well I suppose I could start with how this was my favourite of the series so far (** note these are NOT standalone stories). From the opening lines I was caught hook. line and sinker. This really is one of those books you will want to read in one sitting, so don’t start it if you have important plans that you can’t get out of. Definitely don’t start it late at night, not if you want to get any sleep.
Aflora may be a captive of Zakkai, but that won’t stop her from interacting with Kols, Zeph and Shade, well when she can track that slippery guy down. The steam level of this was possibly lower, though we do get a fantastic MM scene and a real treat towards the end. However I liked that the focus was on the characters and plot, rather than the pages being filled with unnecessary sex scenes. I felt the balance was perfect in this one.
Despite his actions at the end of the last book, I really felt for Shade in this book. His constant sacrifices are enough to break even the strongest of characters and the way he negotiates through the political equivalent of a minefield is breathtaking. The double, triple and quadruple crossing made my mind spin. I still can’t work out the allegiances of some characters, I’m sure there are still plenty of surprises left in store for us. Throughout all this, even when Shade seems to betray the others, no one feels the pain more than him. Everything is done for Aflora, so you can’t help but love the guy.
We eventually start to see the bigger picture, seemingly random events and comments start to tie together. Truths are revealed, as are lies, and Shade very much is at the heart of it all, whether he wants to be or not. Aflora is both a pawn and a catalyst, but whether she can truly tie her mates together remains to be seen. The plot rattles along at break neck speed, with surprises jumping out from some very unexpected quarters. I just can’t sing the praises of this ongoing story enough.
Just when you think this series can’t get any better, Lexi pops out another belter of an instalment.
With more heat. More tension. More adventure. More angst and more great world building.
The creativity in this, and all this author’s stories are a sight to behold, or read. Not sure which is correct, however I do know that whilst reading, the reader is filled with awe, just like myself.
I have never wanted to be in a RH relationship more that after reading this. Especially if the guys are Kols, Zeph, Shade and Zakkai. They exude maleness, sensuality and strength.
But let’s not forget Aflora, this is one tough cookie. She has had everything thrown at her and continues to do so. She’s the epitome of a fighter and I am loving seeing her personality and attitude come into the forefront.
Cannot wait for the next instalment. Book Four cant get here quick enough. Praise for Foss’s writing and ability to capture her reader’s attention.
Reverse Harem/Fantasy Vampire like Fae.
Third Book in the Midnight Fae Academy. Series needs to be read in order. There is M/M included, some of my favorite parts actually!
Bow down to the Queen! Alfora’s evolution is extordinary, I can’t wait to see her flourish.
I had goosebumps finishing this book. I also screamed multiple times, scaring TF outta my family. This series has been a favorite for me this year. It seems like nothing and everything happened in this installment. I read that the author only wanted a trilogy for these characters, with that being said. Usually I’m like, God, why do authors have to drag shit out, and all that jazz. However, with this series, I feel like I’ll never be satisfied. Three books in and I’m not even ready to leave them. I don’t have a clue if the forth book is final, or if everything could come together in one book. But I’m eagerly waiting, March, I think March can’t come soon enough.
Let me talk about the characters for a minute. Somehow, Lexi C. Foss writes these characters that beckon your attention, storylines that inhale your time, and twists that have you begging for more. I honestly could’ve read this book in a couple hours. I made myself stop, I knew I had to wait for the next, I knew once I really let myself go, I’d devour and then sit and sulk. And sure enough. Here I am, I dragged it out for two days. Pathetic, really. So, back to the characters. We meet Kai. Definitely not what I expected. I found him honest, upfront, and completely endearing. Yup, I fell victim to insta-love. I can’t even lie. Page one, hook, line, sinker. Alfora has more sense that I do, apparently. Let me give you a taste of him. I laughed too hard at this.
“Dream-raped you?” he repeated, his expression rivaling mine as he released a disbelieving laugh. “You commanded me, sweetheart. Not the other way around. I came to you to talk, but you told me not to say anything and to fuck you with my mouth instead. As your mate, I obliged. I would hardly call that rape.”
I don’t want to spoil anything. If I keep rambling… Who knows what could come of it. This book pretty much owned me! My kids could’ve asked for a litter of puppies while I was reading the end and I’ve would’ve said yes, just for alone time to finish.
Another addictive, outstanding book from Lexi C. Foss!
I highly recommend to Reverse Harem readers, you will love this one!
