Our heroine is sent to jail for a crime she didn’t commit and her suffering is far from over.
This is book two of the series and picks up where book one ends. This is not a standalone and the books should definitely be read in order.
I picked these books up because the description made it sound like a dark romance, which I enjoy. As it turns out, this is much more of a suspense thriller involving some very disturbed characters and that is not a genre I particularly enjoy.
The story is very well written, and very disturbing. There are lots of twists and turns which do keep you on your toes. Unfortunately, I read for escape and enjoyment and this one did not particularly provide either for me.
Recommended for fans of psychological thrillers.

They though they knew dear but that was before he got his hands on them. Now they know what fear really is. See just how dark this is going to get. Beware as it may even scare you

This is a dark, complex story that is full of drama, suspense, mystery, betrayal and twists that had me on the edge of my seat turning the pages to see what happened next. I don’t know how I missed book one in this series since I read the prequel but I will definitely be getting it so I get Jenna’s full story.
Will Jenna survive her ex’s brother’s promise?
This is the 2nd and final book in the Brothers After Dark series. I was happy to quickly start reading this book after finishing book 1 which left you stunned. At the end of book 1, Travis had killed his brother to prove his worth to his Brothers After Dark. But instead of burying the body, Travis will put the blame will fall on Jenna when Travis sets her up. Will Travis’ reach over Jenna behind bars destroy her or will Jenna survive the victor? You have to read to find out and won’t want to put the book down.
Karma has no rewards for the Dark
Everything has gone wrong for Jenna. She has been framed for a murder she didn’t commit. The real murderer isn’t done with her either and prison can’t keep her safe. He wants her to pay with her life and with the far reach he has, he may just succeed.
I’m still tense after reading this story. It was gripping. Had me glued to the pages. The tightness in my chest still there after sharing it wth the lead character, Jenna. My mind is still spinning too. What a tangled web. Great read. One I know I’ll need a bit of time to come down from.
I read the prequel to the series but somehow missed reading book one. I will definitely be going back and reading it when I get a chance. Although I don’t think it’s necessary to read book one first to fully understand book two, this is a continuation of Jenna’s story from book one. I want to get the back story on Jenna and Winston’s relationship and see just how much interaction she had with Winston’s brother Travis. Other than that, this really could be read as a standalone story.
This one does seem to pick up where the first one left off. It is dark and Jenna is tormented frequently by Travis. I would say it is a thriller, but would not call it a romance. There is very, very little of that. This was well written and kept me on the edge of my seat. I didn’t put it down until a couple hours later when I had it finished. I liked Jenna. Although she had moments of weakness (who wouldn’t in her situation), I loved the strength and determination she had to not just give up and accept her circumstances. I don’t know if I could have done the same. What I do know though, is that I can’t wait for the next book by this author.

Midnight Dark is a dark, drama-filled and suspenseful story full of twists and turns that kept me up reading through the night
What a great read this one after the ending of book 1 I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one and what a read it was.
Such a rollercoaster of a ride I not going to go into details as if you have read book 1 you need to read this one what I love about Dori’s books is you never see the twists and turns till the smack you in the face I couldn’t put it down.
Oh and I adore this cover.
Jenna’s story is fantastic!!
Make sure to read Before Dark, which is book one in the Brothers After Dark Series. This is the conclusion to Jenna’s story and it’s fantabulous!! It’s dark, suspenseful, twisted and thrilling. I loved every minute of it!! Definitely recommend this series, especially for the dark romance lovers out there.
Jenna is living her worst nightmare.
Travis is making her life a living hell.
A hell Jenna can’t escape or hide from.
Delve into the darkness and evil world of Travis and his depravity.
And have a front row seat to the cruelty doled out on Jenna.
Midnight Dark once again proves why Ms. Lavelle is the queen of writing darkness.
This book sent shivers up and down my spine and had my mind consumed.
This is the conclusion to the Jenna’s story in the Brothers After Dark series. You have to read the preceding books in order. Just when Jenna thinks her nightmare with Winston has ended, she faces a new threat intent on torturing her, physically and mentally. I had no idea how Jenna was going to survive her situation, given how few resources she had, and neither of us knowing who to trust! This book is a psychological mind-bender and had me on the edge of my seat, waiting for what could come next. I enjoyed the resolution and epilogue. Great series if you like it dark.
I am voluntarily leaving my opinion of a review copy of this book.
The Queen of Darkness strikes again. Omg! I Devoured this morsel of goodness. Dark, thrilling, suspenseful, page turning, so good you can’t stop reading rolled into one. If you haven’t started this series yet, you need to.
