Middleman

That is by far of the most sensual, beautiful books I’ve read in quite some time. Kaden has been adrift, ever since his lover Cortez got an assignment out of state. Luckily, one day Rogan stumbles into his studio and Kaden begins to feel alive again. Unfortunately, Rogan is in a relationship and therefor not available to Kaden. When shit hits the fan, Kaden is there to pick up Rogans broken peaces. Together they start to heal. When everything seems to good to be true, Cortez showns back up. Damaged and broken himself he’ll have to re-earn Kadens trust.
That is one hell of a story – that kind of when you start reading you realise shortly after that you’re almost through the book. It’s that fluently written, time passes by fast. The characters are just incredible. Amazing.

This is the first book I have read by Jayne Rylon and it won’t be my last. The POV book starts out with Cortez and Kaden and is steamy right off the bat. but as fast as that happens, their story is over. Cortez has to report for an 3 year assignment, so covert and dangerous, that he lets Kaden go, saying good bye. Something he probably never should have started, but he couldn’t fight the attraction…. Exits Cortez, enters Rogan… well actually over 2 years later. The story picks up with Kaden, having went through hell after Cortez left him and finally trying to work out his life as a painter of portraits. He has built up quite a reputation in the LGBT community for his craft. He is miserable, but surviving, that is until Rogan enters his shop… looking to hire Kaden to paint a portrait of himself for his lover and their 5 year anniversar. Even so, there is a click between them. Kaden has a one night only/no repeats rule, and of Rogan weren’t taken, he would have gone for it. In his relationship with Cortez, Kaden had always been a bottom and vowed never to take that role again. When he first meets Rogan, due to the way he conducts himself, Kaden thought he was a top… but he was wrong. After being commissioned to paint Rogan, they go to the Rogan’s beach house for privacy. The portrait was a surprise for Rogan’s lover Ronaldo… only Rogan is the one surprised when Ronaldo shows up with one of his latest conquests! After being in shock, a short time later Rogan finds comfort in Kaden’s arms. One night turns into a relationship, with Ronaldo being scorned and resentful… Cortez meanwhile is inserted in the book sporadically, living in dark and dangerous world, but still thinking of Kaden, still loving him… While Kaden and Rogan have worked out their love for each other… Rogan is always worried that despite their love, he will never be enough for Kaden… until one day Cortez returns. from there you don’t know who to root for… should Kaden stay with Rogan or leave him for Cortez… Kaden has always been honest about his feelings about Cortez, he wants to be with Rogan… due to issues with Ronaldo, Cortez is hired to protect Rogan… and things from there…. love me a HEA!
