Fictional story about the Biblical character Michal, who was King David’s first wife. She was the former King Saul’s Daughter . The two had met and married before David had become King of Israel. The author has very well researched this love story. It didn’t have a happy ending as Michal was never pleased with the fact that King David had many …
I just finished reading this book! I fell in love with all of the characters. It inspired me to seek out David’s story for myself. I was thoroughly pleased with this book. I would definitely recommend this book to other women !
I enjoy reading biblical fiction. It reminds me that the people I read about in the pages of Scripture were real with the same feelings and similar failures as the rest of us. This story about Michal followed Scripture very well, telling some of David’s story but focusing on Michal’s aspect of it. I also liked the bit of redemption the author …

We only get a short glimpse of her in Scripture, but it isn’t a favorable impression…at least not to me. But opinions can change, and that’s happened when I read Jill Eileen Smith’s Biblical Fiction …

Love these books by this author. She does such a wonderful job bringing these biblical stories to life. Giving understanding to them. Dramitizing stories that I have heard all my life by come to new light for me in her books.
Historical fiction very good
I just finished reading Michal: A Novel by Jill Eileen Smith. I bought it forever and a day ago in one of those “Ten eBooks by *publishing house* authors for only $5!!” deals. I just now got around to reading it. Pathetic, I know.
It’s not the worst “historical fiction based on a bible story” I’ve read. I think Smith does a really good job …
I’m obsessed with these biblical novels. The author’s take on what the bible doesn’t say, is interesting and makes you think.
