“Once again, Kathryn Shay blends realism and romance to flawless perfection. Her strength lies in her ability to capture the voice of children with thoughtful insight into how they think and what they feel. The love story is passionate and bittersweet. There’s no stopping this gifted author!” The Literary Times
“I quite enjoyed this story. I loved the characters – all of them and especially Michael, himself. The romance aspect was wonderfully written and had enough heat to satisfy this reader and her penchant for the more heated of romance novels.” A Reader

07/26/2021 “Michael’s Family” (nook) is a poignant and emotionally-charged story with a lot of heartache. I was in turmoil as I cried through many portions of the book. Well-worth the time to read.
Fairytale and just disappointed
Luke Rayburn & Meredith Hunter meet in the very first chapter when Luke’s son, Michael, wants to meet his birth mother, who is Meredith. This book starts out with a bang with all this, & is told by Luke, Meredith & Michael’s points of views, at times even seamlessly switching points of views within the same scene.
“…tell me and we’ll stop this together.”
“Tell you? Oh no, I especially can’t tell you.”
“Why?”
“You’re his father. And Mike can never know… He can never know!”
Despite how we know what’s coming, it’s predictable, this is a very well written story that wraps you up & takes you in…
<3 Michael, the topic he’s doing research on, as well as how he expresses his feelings, & his thoughts on his dad & bio mom.
Luke & Meredith come from opposite sides of the law, & despite being fearful of one another over their respective roles in Michael’s life, they feel something for each other. However, feelings that powerful will need to overcome some big issues...
This was a great story, although I found the end a bit abrupt, & not as satisfying as it could have been if it had been developed a little more. Still, it was worth reading.
Sweet and compelling although I didn’t always connect with the writing.
I couldn’t put it down! Very riveting!
Well written. Kept my attention
Enjoyed the story. Well written.
Another Great
This is another great story. Mike us doing a school term paper, and his best friend is also. His friends is about adoption. Both he and Julie are adopted. He wants to contact his birth mother. More now since his adopted mom has died. Meredith & Luke have a lot to work out
I liked this one a lot
Great story sex scenes not needed
great
It was a very good book. The storyline touched my heart. It deals with a touchy subject of the birth mom returning to the adopted child’s life and how both the adopted and birth parent both cope with it. I have read several books by this writer and she never disappoints her readers!
