There’s me: Micah Owens. Tattoo artist at Damage Control. No parents or siblings. A past that still gives me nightmares.
And then there’s her: Evangeline, the girl who saved my life and haunts my more pleasant dreams. Only she doesn’t know who I really am, and telling her might well send her fleeing for the hills. She deserves better than a loser like me. She’s pretty. She’s clever. She’s … goddamn sexy and has a heart of gold.
Which is why I can’t tell her. A smile from her and I’ll do all I can to make her mine — including pretending to be someone I’m not, someone worth having.
Isn’t love weird?
Standalone novel. No cliffhanger.
Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature readers only. Not intended for young readers.
MICAH is book 1 in the series Damage Control — a series set in the same world as Inked Brotherhood. The boys of Damage Control were taken in by Zane Madden and Rafe Vestri and offered apprenticeship and work in the tattoo shop Damage Control.

I had a feeling I would devour this series just like I did the Inked Brotherhood books. Jo has such a way with these men! The story of Micah and Ev is one that is so sweet and bittersweet! The reason these two know each other is just so sad, but the way they met again is part of the sweet.
Everything these two have been through has been just so much. When they found each other and finally started letting each other in I was so relieved! There were so many moments of angst but there were equally amounts of super hot moments too! This book was the perfect blend of all emotions.
The best part of this series is we still get to see the Inked Brotherhood family, just their family had grown. It’s so amazing and I can’ wait to keep going!
Ev ans Micah were the perfect couple to begin the newest Inked series. So glad to see the next generation, as it were, starting off with such a bang IP couple. Ev just wants to use her big heart to help people. She has a burning desire to help the disenfranchised and downtrodden of Madison and her folks and brother just don’t understand. After an accident leaves her with a limp, they us this as the perfect excuse to keep Ev from doing what she really loves and helping those in need. Micah quite literally owes his life to Ev, he found him sick and alone on the streets and git him help when he needed it. He never got the chance to say Thank-you and now that he has run in to her again and sparks have flown he doesn’t want to ruin it by telling Ev he was the homeless kid she once saved. But secrets and lies are dangerous and threaten to tear them apart.
Micah! I love that name. He’s had such a rough life and thankfully for Zane and Rafe help, owners of a tattoo shop, he has been able to survive. Well one rainy night Ev accidentally hits him, and he instantly remembers her from his past.
Ev, Evangeline has a big heart and a passion for helping the homeless. As she helps him by giving him a ride, they realize they have a few mutual friends in common. They become attracted to each other and spend such a beautiful weekend together!
I cannot give too much away. I listened to it on Audible and I loved the narrators!!
This series are standalone and are so emotionally deep. A definite must read!
Once again Jo Raven astounds me. This was a fantastic story about two people who are in tough situations but when they come together they can get through anything. I loved it!
I listened to the audible version of this and it was okay. I liked Micah and Evangeline characters in this story and there were some funny, sweet and steamy scenes between the two but I needed a little bit more. I didn’t feel that deep connection between the main characters that would have made me really enjoy this story. Micah did not have an easy childhood and he has scars that runs deep but Evangeline saved his life. She’s the woman he can’t forget and wants to know. Evangeline has her own drama to deal with because her ex-boyfriend Blake refuses to believe that their relationship is over and is willing to deal with anyone he feels is a threat. It took me a while to like Evangeline’s parent and brother, I couldn’t believe the way they treated her and I was glad when she made the decision to do what was best for her. The ending of this story was sweet but in all honesty it didn’t leave me dying to read the next book.
This is the first book in a spin-off of the Inked Brotherhood Series. Micah first met Ev when he was at his lowest point. She saved him, but she doesn’t recognize him when they meet again around six months later. Ev has had her share of struggles since their fateful meeting, and she feels like a totally different person. When they find each other Micah is afraid to tell her who he is. She has become fearful of people like he used to be, and he doesn’t want to scare her away. This book is a little shorter than the ones in the Inked Brotherhood series but I enjoyed it. It felt a little rushed in spots, but still a good read.
Jo has done it again. I loved the Inked Brotherhood series and this series is heading the same way. it’s linked to the other series and I just cannot wait to read more.
Loved Micah and Ev together! One of my favourites of this author.
