“An exciting new voice in hard-boiled detective noir thrillers from newcomer John D. Patten.”Titus came to Miami to kill a man. Plain and simple. Fresh off a prison stint for a crime he didn’t commit and out for blood. But when a wealthy socialite begs Titus to track down her missing daughter, he dives head first into a seedy Miami underworld of lowlife thugs, celebrity wannabes, and women as … lowlife thugs, celebrity wannabes, and women as beautiful as they are deadly. Titus soon finds himself up against an organized crime boss, a crooked politician, and a hard-nosed Miami detective. Nobody, it seems, wants the girl found, but Titus doesn’t scare easy. Armed with two fists and razor-sharp wit, Titus unravels a mystery deeper, darker, and more twisted than a simple missing girl.
“John Patten is this generation’s John D. MacDonald. And Titus is the new Travis McGee!”
“Don’t miss this debut detective thriller!”
*Miami Burn is the first book in the wildly popular Titus Florida Crime Thriller Series.*

Loved the main character Titus. Liked both book and pre-ordered the third. Bring on more!!
Great Fast Paced Read. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
This book kept my interest with its sleazy cast of characters and their shenanigans. Not literature or profound but certainly entertaining.
Kept waiting for the hook that would peak my interest and keep me reading. I gave up after about 20% thinking it was going to continue to not peak my interest.
Really liked the characters and the story line. Pretty easy to read, but action packed and kept me reading until I was done. Liked the way the characters and their insecurities were developed.
MIami Burn is the first of a series, introducing us to Titus. Titus is a complicated, flawed character just like so many people in real life. He has a good heart even if he doesn’t always do things exactly as he should. I think, like me, you will finish the book knowng this isn’t the last you’ll want to hear from Titus. Bring on book 2!!
I enjoyed this book very much. Serious but lighthearted enough to make it entertaining. I read it very quickly and went on the read the second one and look forward to the 3rd book coming in May. I like my reading lately to be more entertaining than serious as there is too much seriousness going on around us so it is nice to take a break from all that craziness out there. It is somewhat predictable but that is ok with me these days hence the reason for only 4 stars
I lived in Florida for a few years, and still kind of miss certain aspects. I really enjoyed living there in my head for a few hours. Titus is a wonderful character and I look forward to reading about him again.
Good read for the weekend, at least the protagonist has enough flaws to make him interesting enough to follow.
I felt the book was too predictable. Also it has lot of rough language. I didn’t finish reading the book.
I liked the story, but could have done without all the “F” words. They didn’t add anything, just distracted me from the story.
Really enjoyed this one, couldn’t put it down. Patten writes realistic banter and humorous descriptions
