A spectacular new novel, complete with high stakes, hot nights, murder and graft—not to mention car chases, car races, car explosions, and car—well, you get the idea Alexandra Barnaby got the brains in her family. The little gray cells certainly bypassed Barney’s younger brother, Wild Bill. Now Bill’s missing, so Barney is dispatched to Florida in the middle of summer with the bugs and the heat … bugs and the heat and the bad-hair-day humidity. Barney’s thinking things can’t get too much worse as she makes the rounds of South Beach, unemployed and sunburned, following her brother’s trail of broken-hearted bimbos.
Too bad for Barney—she’s wrong about the getting worse part. Enter Sam Hooker. Somebody’s stolen his boat and the trail leads to—you guessed it—Wild Bill. Hooker decides to follow Barney and see if she can lead him to his boat.
In the world of Evanovich, Sam Hooker and Alexandra Barnaby, in their quest to reclaim what’s theirs, blast through Florida from Daytona straight on to Key West, exposing a plot to grab Cuban land and to lay waste the people involved. Cussing and tasteless sexual innuendo included.

Always love Janet Evonvich
Great read, very fast paced and funny!
Interesting characters and good dialogue
Typical Evanovich novel. That is what made so entertaining.
Ms. Janet is always funny and always worth reading.
Evanovich always gives a funny, whimsical story!
Enjoyed all of her books…
Enjoyable fluff
I am a Stephanie Plum fan. METRO GIRL is the beginning of a new gutsy character who backs into a detective job when her reckless brother gets himself tangled up with the wrong mob. Barney Barnaby and her side-kick Sam make an interesting team. This was a suspenseful, fun, easy read. Some of the encounters in METRO GIRL were not realistic, but …
a fun read
Anything Janet Evanovich writes is awesome. The characters come alive. And she is so funny!
J.E. does a great job of keeping me entertained. Enjoyed escaping with this book!
I’ve been a fan of Janet Evanovich ever since “One for the Money” and I love how her writing has continued to improve and mature. She has been laugh out loud funny since the beginning, but her plots and characters are getting more and more interesting.
Funniest book she’s ever written! I almost missed my airplane I was so engaged and entertained.
I automatically read all of Janet E’s books – they have a lots of humor in them.
Always easy read
It alright nothing I would buy again
I thought this book was not up to Janet Evanovich’s usual characters and plot. Somehow it seemed to fall short from her Stephanie Plum series.
This is the first book by this author that I did not like. I did not even finish it.
Pure fantasy. It was OK but I couldn’t wait for it to end.
