A spectacular new novel, complete with high stakes, hot nights, murder and graft—not to mention car chases, car races, car explosions, and car—well, you get the idea Alexandra Barnaby got the brains in her family. The little gray cells certainly bypassed Barney’s younger brother, Wild Bill. Now Bill’s missing, so Barney is dispatched to Florida in the middle of summer with the bugs and the heat … bugs and the heat and the bad-hair-day humidity. Barney’s thinking things can’t get too much worse as she makes the rounds of South Beach, unemployed and sunburned, following her brother’s trail of broken-hearted bimbos.
Too bad for Barney—she’s wrong about the getting worse part. Enter Sam Hooker. Somebody’s stolen his boat and the trail leads to—you guessed it—Wild Bill. Hooker decides to follow Barney and see if she can lead him to his boat.
In the world of Evanovich, Sam Hooker and Alexandra Barnaby, in their quest to reclaim what’s theirs, blast through Florida from Daytona straight on to Key West, exposing a plot to grab Cuban land and to lay waste the people involved. Cussing and tasteless sexual innuendo included.

Always Evanovich
I wish I could tell the author how much I appreciate this book (and the Stephanie plumb series). They give laughter when life isn’t funny. So for me…I have some serious issues… They help me get thru the day easier. Thank you. Loved it. I’m reading the second one in this series now.
I liked this book a lot. It was fast moving and interesting with humor.
I always enjoy Janet Evanovich’s novels. They’re very entertaining. This had a decent plot, a little romance with a bit of adventure and humor thrown in.
Alexandra Barnaby and Sam Hooker make this wonderful, though short duo of novels a romantic and comic gem. Never have I thought NASCAR could be a fertile breeding ground for hot, sexy fun. Awesome. — Alice Bello is the Author of Hate Him XOXO
Loved the characters and there were a few. Crazy how Barney and NASCAR Guy kept getting in and out of trouble. There was no way I was expecting the ending that did happen. Then probably none of of the events in the book could actually happen are very probably very slim but I really enjoyed the book.
Just love Janet Evanovich books.
This book is very well written. It is everything you expect from this author it had mystery, adventure and romance with humour. I would recommend this book to others.
Not as good as her One for the Money series. It is different but still a good book to read as are all or hera.
This book is fun to read. If you are going through a down time it will bring you a smile. You can’t help but laugh.
Laughed till I cried
I love Janet Evanovich!
Enjoyed it a lot. Was a very enjoyable read. Not as much as I like Stephanie Plum novels but still liked it and would recommend it if you like Janet Evanovich.
Evanovich is always entertaining!
I have enjoyed reading the Stephanie Plum novels, so was excited to read about the adventures of Alex Barnaby. Fun read!
It has been a while since I read this book, but anything Janet Evanovich writes, because I have a lot of her books are worth reading again.
Loved it couldn’t stop reading it
Somewhat predictable, but good escapism
Typical Evanovich fun read.
Laugh out loud book.
